After Liam found out that Vaughn had confronted Mia, he couldn’t hold back his anger. As soon as he left Natalie’s, he sent Vaughn a text and asked him to meet him at the docks. After a long drive, he arrived and immediately stepped out of the car. Liam’s boots crunched against gravel as he walked toward the edge of the warehouse strip, hands clenched at his sides, jaw locked tight.

Vaughn had responded to his request with one word, gladly.

As Liam turned the corner past a stack of old shipping crates, he saw him leaning against a rusted container, arms folded with a half-smirk on his face like he’d been waiting all night.

“Wow,” Vaughn drawled. “Didn’t expect the golden boy himself to crawl out here without his usual entourage. Trouble in paradise?”

Liam didn’t respond. His eyes didn’t blink. He held a stern gaze and kept walking towards Vaughn.

Vaughn pushed off the container, walking closer, the grin never leaving his face. “Let me guess, you’re mad I touched your little queen.” H

  • Natalie’s Confession

The city glowed that evening beneath them like spilled gold. Liam stood quietly in the glass elevator, watching the skyline as it rose around him. Natalie’s penthouse was perched at the top of one of the tallest towers downtown, almost like a statement piece. As the elevator doors slid open, Liam stepped into a hallway wrapped in silence. There were no guards, no assistants, just a long stretch of white marble that led to double doors. One of them opened before he could knock.Natalie stood there, barefoot, wearing a silk robe that highlighted her long legs. Her hair was pinned back, her sharp cheekbones catching the light. “Come in,” she said, stepping aside.Liam took a deep breath and hesitated for a moment. He didn’t know why she had called him back so soon, but from the looks of things, he could tell this was something he wasn’t ready for. He took a deep breath again and slowly walked into the room. The place was stunning, with expansive glass walls and modern art. A fire pit cr

  • Ambush on the Highway

After they had gotten the location on Carl, Mia didn’t waste any time. She rushed out of the house towards her car, entered and gripped the wheel tightly, taking in deep breaths before she drove off. Her eyes flickered between the dark road ahead and the glowing screen of the tracker on her dash. Carl’s signal hadn’t moved. He was still in the same industrial zone near the docks. That gave her time. She pressed the gas a little harder. Jack had left the building too, and was supposed to pick up a few of Laura’s men and meet her two exits away. They’d agreed to meet there and move in together. This was the closest they had come to catching Carl. The wind roared past her window, and her phone buzzed, but she ignored it. Jack could wait. She was almost there. But that’s when it happened. Out of nowhere, two black SUVs pulled up fast on either side of her car, boxing her in.Mia’s heart jumped and then her eyes narrowe in frustration. “What the hell—?”One of the vehicles surged ahead, cu

  • Yuna’s Call

Yuna stood in the middle of her room, holding her phone in both hands like it weighed a hundred pounds. Her mind was in conflict of decisions. She knew the obvious right thing to do, but after all these years together, she still felt like she needed an explanation, or maybe it was simply because she was love bound. The screen was lit with Carl’s number—still saved under “My Love.”Her heart pounded. She’d stared at the contact for hours, pacing from one corner of the room to another, hoping the guilt would pass. But it didn’t.She knew what Carl had done. And yet, part of her still wanted to believe there was a reason. Something more than just power and pride. Or at least she hoped there was more. The silence in the room was heavy, and after staring at the screen for what look like eternity, she finally ressed the call button. It rang once, then twice and then he answered.“Yuna?”His voice was calm and soft, almost as if he was considering the chaos he’d left behind.“Carl,” she whi

  • The Father’s Code

The city of Jordan looked washed out in the grey light of early morning. Jack had parked his car in front of a quiet brick building near the harbor, far from Natalie’s usual hangouts. It wasn’t flashy, but it was secure. Laura sat beside him, tightening her coat.“You think he’ll help?” she asked.Jack exhaled. “He better. We’re out of time.”They stepped out of the car and walked through the alley to the back door. Jack knocked three times, paused, then knocked once more. A slot opened, no words. Just a pair of tired eyes.“It’s us,” Jack said. “We’re here for Michael.”The slot shut, and a second later, the door creaked open. Inside, Michael Young sat alone at a long table. The room was dimly lit. He looked older than Jack remembered, like the war had caught up to him overnight. His suit was crisp, but his face was worn. A half drunk glass of scotch sat in front of him.“Jack. Laura.” His voice was calm but guarded. “Didn’t expect to see you, but I guess the timing isn’t wrong eithe

  • Two Lies, One Truth

The lounge was quieter now, the music softer, with a gentle ambience. Natalie’s eyes flickered with amusement and calculation following Liam’s words. She remained quiet for a while and then started. “You know,” she said, “I didn’t expect this.”“Expect what?” Liam asked. “You, here. Smiling at me.” Natalie answered. “You always had that death glare look whenever you saw me, but this… this feels different. It feels good to know I’ve finally caught your eye.”Liam offered a slight smile back and said. “Yeah, it does feel good. I have to admit, I was a little worried that you might not want anything to do with me, but I’m glad we could find a common ground.”She tilted her head to the side. “Why now, really? Spare me the charm for a minute.”Liam leaned back, relaxing into the chair. He heaved a heavy sigh and looked at her directly. “Because I’m tired of pretending. Tired of playing the hero.”Natalie watched him closely. “You’re not very good at being fake.”“That’s the thing,” he sa
