Liam balled his fist in anger but did not say anything. He stared at Victor with a furious gaze and then his expression quickly shifted to a grin. There was no need to pick a fight now. He’d get his revenge and ruin the Carpi’s name and influence in the city before the night ended.

With that, he brushed past Victor and just then, a voice echoed loudly on the speaker, “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for all accepting my invitation. Tonight is going to be a memorable one as we will be announcing our company’s most recent developments. Enjoy the drinks and wine, and have a good time.” Peter announced over the radio.

Liam saw his opportunity and figured there was no point waiting for the night to end, he quickly stepped towards the stage and headed straight to Peter with a purposeful face.

Peter stared at him in confusion but did not react. The crowd stared expectantly, wondering what was going on and why Liam was there.

  • The Storm

The next morning, Aria stared out from the glass window of her penthouse, sipping her cup of tea slowly. Below her, she could hear the sound of cars rushing, drones floating past screens, and people moving and going about their day-to-day life, completely oblivious of what was coming. After staring out the window for a while, Aria turned around, her expression calm but her mind sharp. Today wasn’t about memories or heartbreak. Today was about marking her ground. About reminding every name in power that Aria Carpi was no longer hiding.Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door and was immediately pulled from her thoughts. Without hesitation, she walked towards it, and when she opened it, her eyes widened in surprise.“Is everything ready?” she asked, holding the door slightly ajar.John Doe stood in the doorway with his arms crossed and a concerned look on his face. He’d tried to persuade Aria to let go of the idea of the gala since the moment she told him, but she wasn’t budging, and no

  • Calls That Go Unanswered

Aria’s phone has been blaring with calls since the moment she left the car park, and every time she ignored it. As soon as she got home, she went straight to her room, and again her phone suddenly rang. She chewed her lip and stared at the screen until the call stopped. This was the third time he had called in the last twenty minutes. The first two she’d managed to ignore, but this one lingered longer. When it stopped ringing, Aria slowly sat down at the edge of her bed. Her eyes burned, but she blinked the sting away. She wasn’t going to cry. Not tonight. Not anymore. This was her choice, and she had to handle it with grace.Suddenly, her phone lit up again with a new message, but she didn’t have to open it or even glance at it to know what it said. She knew it was from Zion and surmised that he would probably say something like, “Please talk to me.” Or “I didn’t expect to see you last night.” Or maybe even worse.Aria took in a deep breath and wrapped her arms around herself, closin

  • The Other Woman

“Zion,” she whispered, and suddenly froze in place. He looked good. Too good. He was wearing all black, but there was something else that caught Aria’s attention, and that was the slim woman beside him. She was tall, elegant, and had glowing brown skin with short curls.Aria studied her closely, and she could feel her heart begin to race in anger, especially when she touched Zion’s wrist as she laughed, and he didn’t pull away. Her throat tightened, and for a moment, her chest physically ached. She wanted to storm over there and tell that woman to keep her hands off him, but she remembered that she was the one who walked away, and Zion had the freedom to do whatever he wanted with anyone. But even though she knew she could only blame herself for this, it didn’t help as she watched him smile at someone else the way he used to smile at her. Her heart fractured, and the only thing she could do was hold it together. Aria forced a grin, like she could fool herself out of this pain. This

  • New Skin

Aria’s thoughts were anything but calm the next morning. She stood in front of her mirror, looking at her reflection with a keen look. She could not recognize herself anymore. The old Aria was gone, but she still could not recognize this new one. Maybe it was the old clothes. They didn’t feel right anymore. The plain black turtleneck, the worn-out boots, the coat she’d been wearing since her last safehouse escape. She looked in the mirror and shook her head. She wasn’t that same girl anymore. She was a new woman now. One that could be dangerous. She traced a finger down her collarbone, touching the gold Carpi pendant that now felt more like armor than an heirloom. If you’re going to start a war, she thought, you better look like someone who wins. With that thought, Aria searched through her old wardrobe, picked the best outfit she could find, and headed out. An hour later, she walked into the most exclusive boutique in Ivory Heights, the richest district in the city. The kind of place

  • Tied In Blood

It had been a few days since Aria found out the real truth about her father and knew who she truly was. For the first time ever, she had found her purpose, knew who she was, and what she was meant to do. And that morning, she had returned to where it all started. The birthplace of her truth. She stood by the old fireplace in John’s study, staring into the fading flames. Her father’s pendant hung around her neck like a reminder of everything she had discovered. Of everything she was now meant to carry.John stood near the door, watching her keenly. “You’ve barely slept, have you, Aria?” he said softly. But Aria didn’t look at him. Her mind was fixed on something more important. “I don’t have time to sleep.” She said.“You have time to think,” John said. “And what you’re planning… it isn’t what Peter wanted for you.”Those words finally made her turn. “I don’t care what he wanted anymore,” Aria said, her voice sharp. “I care about what this city needs. What I need.”John took a slow ste

  • Aria's Revenge

The morning found Aria in bed, wrapped up in floral sheets, staring at the ceiling. She’d been awake for about an hour now, rethinking her decisions. She knew it was the right thing to do; Zion didn’t need all the drama that came with her life, but why did she feel this way? Why did she feel guilty over choosing not letting him get hurt? After searching for that answer for a while, she finally heaved a deep sigh and got off the bed. Maybe it was all this bedrotting that made her feel like that. She wondered. On her way to the bathroom, she walked past her laptop and saw the half-finished message she had written for Zion. At that moment, she felt a sharp relief. One more glass of wine and she may have been foolish enough to press send. And now, instead of sending it, she closed the lid and walked past it. Enough waiting. It was time she stopped hiding behind guilt, doubt, and feelings she didn’t fully understand. There were questions still haunting her. And now, more than ever, she nee
