Ric’s eyes widened, “A system! The ultimate cheat code for a transmigrator” "53 seconds..." the cold voice echoed.

He didn't have time to celebrate. He needed to pick, and he needed to pick immediately.

But as his eyes scanned the frantic crowd, he realized all the IDEAL women had already been claimed. The remaining ones were being pushed aside, wept over, or ignored.

Then, his gaze drifted to the far corner of the hall. Separated from the crowd were three women, they were avoided like a plague, no one wants to come close to them.

The first woman was sitting impeccably straight despite the filth around her. Her face was pale, her features striking and aristocratic, but her eyes were like shards of winter ice. The whispers of the crowd drifted to Ric's ears, “That's Lady Yan. Her entire clan was executed for treason, and everyone who touches her dies. A curse!"

The next lady next to her was a small, quiet girl wrapped in a faded, oversized cloak. She was trembling slightly, her skin was pale, her breathing shallow. She clutched a small bag of dried herbs to her chest like a shield

"The village healer's daughter. Born with a frail body, won't last a month in the cold. A waste of rations!"

The third woman was bound in heavy iron chains, her wrists raw and bleeding. She possessed a fierce, untamed beauty, her dark eyes glaring at the guards like a caged wolf. A sword scar ran down the side of her shoulder.

“The Viper Bandit leader's daughter. Sentenced to execution next week unless someone dumbs himself down enough to take her. She’ll slit your throat while you sleep!"

Ric's eyes glowed, he refuses to allow any of these women to be abandoned or face any execution.

He took a deep breath and hurriedly walked towards them without any concern about the surprised gazes.

[Time remaining: 30 seconds….]

The commanding officer’s sword hacked down, and the panicked conscript's head rolled across the floor, painting the wood red. The crowd jerked, backing away.

"Next!" the officer roared, wiping blood from his blade. His terrifying, bloodshot eyes locked dead onto Ric who was walking towards the abandoned location.

"You there! Where in Hell's name do you think you are running to?"

The entire registration hall fell silent as they kept their gaze on Ric!

Ric took a deep breath. His modern knowledge of history and warfare told him one irrefutable truth, in a crumbling empire, standard rules no longer applied.

The cursed noblewoman possessed education and political literacy. The frail healer posses invaluable medical knowledge. The bandit girl possessed lethal combat skills.

In the brutal world, strength and skills are important and these weren't burdens. They were a means to survival.

He stopped hesitating and walked right in front of the three forsaken women.

“Hahaha, what is that idiot doing?” a guard mocked with laughter, as he continued, “I believe he won't last long!”

“He is going towards the curse, corpse and demon. I bet he didn't know his ending his near” another guard mocked.

Ric ignored the mocking voices, as his eyes bent down and stared towards the the three ladies as they also stared back at him, one with an indifferent and cold look, the other with a weak and terrified looks while the other with a look filled murderous intent and rage.

Ric took a deep breath even though he had the mental fortitude of a General, his body was still weak and drenched with sweet standing in front of these ladies.

“Which of the unholy wretches will you pick, conscript?” A mocking guard voice sounded behind him!

Suddenly, Ric turned back and glanced at the commander and said slowly, “I have made my choice” he glanced at everyone and continued, “I will take all three!”

Everywhere became frighteningly quiet!

Ric eyes glowed with a spark of modern defiance and a faint military aura burning in his eyes. The hall fell into a dead, suffocating silence.

Even the commanding officer froze, his bloody sword hovering mid air. For a second, only the sounds of heavy breathing could be heard inside the hall.

Then, a wave of laughter resounded, shattering the silence. "Is he mad?!"

"Taking three broken mouths to feed? He’ll freeze to death before the first snow!"

"A starving dog trying to swallow three bones at once!”

Just as the commander steps forward to make a statement, suddenly a translucent, glowing blue interface materializes before Ric eyes freezing time, a robotic voice echoed in his mind.

once!"

The commander's voice suddenly interrupted him as he Coldy said, "The law states a man must choose a wife to preserve the bloodline. It does not forbid taking more if you are foolish enough to burden yourself. Guards! Register them to this lunatic before he changes his mind!”

It took a long time for everyone present to process what just happened!

Ric felt a strange, warm energy course through his malnourished veins, erasing his fatigue. He finally understood what was going on now as he could feel the difference in his body!

He turned back to look at his three new wives with a wide grin as he licked his lips subconsciously!

The noblewoman, Lady Yan, was staring at him with a mixture of profound confusion and calculated suspicion. The frail healer girl was staring at the floor, blushing furiously while trembling. The chained bandit girl bared her teeth, and gazed coldly towards Ric and said, "If you think you own me, boy, I'll choke you with these chains."

The same robotic voice resounded again.

Ric merely smiled, looking out past the hall toward the frozen, deadly northern horizon.

They thought they were sending him to a graveyard. They had no idea he had just been handed the keys to an empire.
