The sound of the gun and bulet flew across the room as Ethan and his friends tried to get out of the room. "Don't let them go!" Derek shouted at his men, but the horror going on inside the room was terrifying. Marcus and Ethan managed to clear a path as they ran out of the door. Marcus closed the door behind them, and the loud noise of screams and horror filled the room. Sometimes, the noise died down, and Marcus quickly went to have the rest of the prisoners relaesed.

They gathered around and killed the rest of the soldiers. "I would burn that if I were you." A man said this, looking at Ethan. "Burn the corpse? Why?" Ethan asked, with his head carefully bandaged by Rachel. "Just do as he says." A woman replied

The corpses were immediately torched. The zombies were all killed and burned. Ethan sat down and looked at Rachel. "I am sorry it took me a long time to finally come get you. I am sorry." He said it gently. Rachel said nothing but simply hugged him.

Ethan looked up, and another message appeared right in front of him.

[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF YOUR TASK. YOUR WEAPON WOULD BE UPGRADED IN A BIT. ]

[IMPORTANT NOTICE: A NEARBY HOSPITAL IS BEING ARRANGED SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU.] YOUR BLOOD IS THE KEY TO SOLVING AND STOPPING THE DEADLY VIRUS. [Get to the hospital, and you might have the chance to change the fate of the world.]

Ethan looked at the message and knew they could not stay here. "We need to go." He looked at Marcus. "Don't tell me this is another message from the system. Why do we need to go when we just take over the place? We could get to farming and live our lives. We can appoint a few men who will guard and mount the wall. Isn't this what you wanted?" Marcus looked at Ethan.

"We need to stop this. Whatever it is that happens needs to be stopped. We can't go on living like this." Ethan said, looking at Sandra and Rachel.

"I think Marcus is right, Ethan. We need to keep this place together and help other people. We can keep going from one place to another." Sandra looked at him.

"WWhag about your daughter? Did you forget the promise you made to her already? You said you were going to find her. Don't tell me you are going back on your words." Ethan looked at her, and everyone felt tensed.

"OOkay what is it this time?" Marcus looked at him, trying to believe the system was real.

"We need to locate a hospital not too far from here. The answer we are looking for is there. We can learn how the virus spreads and how we can finally put an end to it. Isn't that what we all wanted? Going back to our normal  lives Ethan buttresses his point. "Do you think that is possible? Look around you, brother, and tell me what you see." Rachel looked at Ethan.

"LListen, I am not asking you to come along with me, but I need to do this. What happens when this place is overrun by zombies or other thugs? Can you hold them off with the little people you are having? Look around you; they are all civilians and don't know how to handle weapons." Ethan looked at their faces.

'They will learn. They have too."Marcus replied

" Okay. I will have the hospital checked out while you can train and take over here. I will be back before you know it." Ethan replied, walking into the house to have some rest.

The people gathered the following day to bid Ethan goodbye and thanked him for saving their lives.

"I am coming with you." Sandra said, looking at Ethan.

' No, you are going to stay back and help them here. Marcus is going to be a good leader, but he needs someone who will assist him. He can't do it alone." Ethan said it softly. He looked over her shoulder and saw Rachel looking at him. "Don't worry, she will come around." Marcus placed his hands gently on Ethan's shoulders. She is just angry that you are leaving her again.

"Take care of her. I will be back." Ethan looked at Marcus, and both friends hugged each other. He gave him a walkie-talkie they would use to communicate with each other.

Ethan was walking towards the gate when one of the teenagers that had been taken hostage walked to his front. "I would like to accompany you, sir," he said, standing at attention.

Ethan looked at him and smiled. 'Have you been severed?"

"I was in my service when the apocalypse broke out. Let me accompany you."

Ethan looked over his shoulder and saw the arrow the system had given him. "Can you use that?" he asked, staring at him.

"It doesn't have an arrow." He replied, still standing at attention. "What is your name?" Ethan asked as he kept walking. "I am John, sir. My friend calls me Johnny."

"Alright, Johnny. I don't need you slowing me down, and I don't need you whining to me like a baby. Are we clear on that?" Ethan looked at him.

They heard the sound of a roaring engine, and a girl was parked in front of them. She swung open the door and looked at Ethan. "Are you going to get in, or are you just going to stand there and watch? Do you plan on trekking to wherever it is you are going?"

Ethan looked at John and back at the girl. They were almost the same age. "Get in," Ethan ordered Johnny, who had been waiting for whatever he was going to say. "So why did you decide to risk your life? You would have been safe back there." Ethan looked at the girl, who had a black pad on. "My name is Clara, by the way, and I don't like sitting down doing nothing. Where are we going too?" Clara asked, stopping the engine.

The sound of the zombies nearby was audible. 'We are going to this hospital." Ethan showed her on the map. "I know where that is." Clara said with a smirk on her face as she ignited and zoomed off. They got to the front of the hospital, and it was swarming with zombie hordes. 'How do we get through?" John asked

"They are drawn to sounds. I will try to move them with the sound while you get in. Ethan and John got down from the car while Clara used the sounding horn from her car to make the zombie come after her.

"HHow do we get in? The door needs a password.' Johnny looked at Ethan. He looked around and saw a hole with a finger print. Ethan. placed his finger over the flat surface, and a needle pinched him, absorbing his blood. The door opened, and they walked in.

Inside the hospital, Ethan and Johnny moved cautiously through the dimly lit hallways, their footsteps echoing softly. The eerie silence was occasionally broken by the distant moans of zombies outside. As they progressed, Ethan couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency, knowing that time was of the essence.

"Stick close and keep your eyes open," Ethan whispered to Johnny.

They reached a large metal door labelled "RESEARCH AB." Ethan approached the door, noticing another biometric scanner. He pressed his finger against it, and after a brief pause, the door slid open with a soft hiss. Inside, the lab was filled with high-tech equipment, and in the centre of the room was a large containment unit.

Ethan approached the containment unit and saw a series of vials filled with a glowing blue liquid. "This must be it," he muttered, reaching for one of the vials.

"WWe don't even know what that is." Johnny said, looking at Ethan, that he had carefully placed the vials in his bags. "We are going to find out." He was about to leave when he saw a small note on the table. Ethan turned back and walked towards it. "What is that?" Johnny asked who was in a hurry to leave.

' There is a note, and I have to read it." Ethan picked up the note and looked at it. He saw it was written in blood and wondered why they must have written the words with their blood. "Can you read these words?" Ethan showed Johnny

He looked at the words and looked back at his face. "What does it mean?" Ethan asked with a worried look in his eyes.

"No hay salvación," Johnny said, looking at Ethan. "It means there is no salvation."

Ethan sat down and wondered why the doctors would send that message when they were supposed to try and stop the spread of the virus. He looked at the computer before him, and Ethan's eyes opened, frightened. "Did they just get back up? Aren't they supposed to be dead?" Johnny asked, looking scared.

Ethan picked up his walkie-talkie and shouted in it, calling Marcus. "They are not dead! Get out of there." but there was no service.

The blood didn’t stop flowing. Zack's lifeless body lay crumpled by the bunker gate, his rifle still clenched in his hands. Talia had gone down shielding Miles—only for them both to be torn apart by the enhanced. Barnet’s final scream still echoed faintly, swallowed by the screech of gunfire and the guttural roars of monsters that were once men. Ethan stumbled into the lab, bloodied and bruised, every muscle in his body trembling from strain and grief. The only thing that kept him upright now was Selena. She slammed the reinforced door behind them, bolting it with shaking hands. Outside, gunfire dwindled, turning into a chilling silence. “They’re gone,” Ethan said, voice barely audible. “All of them…” Selena didn’t answer right away. She was pacing the room like a caged animal, checking equipment, fumbling with canisters and tubes as tears silently streamed down her face. “You did what you had to,” she said finally. “No, I didn’t,” Ethan whispered. “I brought them here. I told

The tension inside the fort bristled like dry kindling near a flame. Ethan stood unmoving, eyes glowing an eerie, shifting blue. Across from him, Lt. Grayson didn’t flinch, but the way her hand hovered near the pistol at her hip betrayed her unease. Around them, the convoy group—Zack, Barnet, Talia, Miles, and the rest—stood close, weapons raised but uncertain. Soldiers from the fort, clad in a patchwork of old-world military gear and survivalist armor, responded in kind. One wrong word, and this fragile calm would shatter into blood and bullets. “Let me talk to her,” Ethan said quietly. “To Selena.” Grayson tilted her head. “Why? So you do want the serum for yourself after all!" “She never asked for this,” Ethan replied. “Neither did I. But we both had to survive.” Grayson’s mouth twisted into a bitter smile. “Survive? Don’t talk to me about survival, enhanced. You walk in here with glowing eyes and think you’re still one of us?” Zack stepped forward, rifle lowered but ready.

The tires screeched against the cracked asphalt as the convoy tore through the desolate outskirts of what had once been downtown Greenville. Dust billowed behind them, clouding the rearview mirrors like a curtain of smoke hiding whatever horrors chased them. Inside the lead vehicle, Ethan sat at the wheel, jaw clenched, eyes burning with that unnatural blue glow. Beside him, Zack braced a boot against the dashboard, weapon at the ready, eyes fixed on the side mirror. “They’re gaining,” Zack muttered, tightening his grip on the rifle. “I know,” Ethan said without looking. “Then maybe you’d like to explain what the hell Recon Team Bravo meant by ‘not normal’? We’ve fought dozens of infected before. None of them moved like that.” “They’re not wrong,” Ethan answered, voice grim. “There’s been a mutation. I’ve seen it. They’re calling them Phantoms.” “Phantoms?” Zack spat. “You waited until now to tell us?” “I didn’t think Selena could make the serum so fast. I was wrong.”

" Do you even know what you are doing?" Zack looked at Barnett. " Why?" He asked as they load the car with ammunition. " I have been doing the mathematics here. Have you?" Zack said throwing a AK-47 at him. " We don't have to follow him or his words? Ethan is doing all of this for his own selfish gain." Zack said in anger. " What if we are killed? Are you telling me our death would have been for nothing?" Barnet looked back, his eyes landing Ethan who was busy getting himself armed. " Don't be stupid! This could get us what we want. Haven't you always been jealous of him?" he said looking at Ethan yet again " He is strong, powerful and can move faster than any of us. Isn't that what you have always wanted? We won't be scared of walking even when the heard is coming. We are going to be worshipped. Imagine us taking control over the banks. The money, we could go anywhere we want to." Barnet said laughing. " Eye on the prize, Zack. Stay sharp!" " Really? What exactly are we going to

As the snarl echoed through the mansion, panic spread like wildfire among the gathered men and women. They scrambled back, eyes wide with fear as the door burst open, revealing a massive figure—twisted, bloody, and clearly infected. The berserk zombie, muscles bulging and eyes wild, lunged into the room, roaring with primal rage. Ethan’s instincts kicked in. “Everyone, get back! Form a line!” he shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. But the crowd was paralyzed by fear, watching as the creature barreled towards them, its teeth gnashing. Zack and Barnet moved to grab the closest weapons, but the zombie was faster. It swiped at a man in the front, sending him sprawling to the ground with a sickening crunch. “We can’t let it get any closer!” Barnet yelled, firing his rifle at the creature. The bullets ricocheted off its thick skin, enraging it further. Ethan took a deep breath, grounding himself in the moment. “We need to distract it!” He grabbed a nearby wooden chair, hefting

"Are you alright?" Zack asked again, looking at Ethan, who was now standing rooted to a spot. "Is he?" Barnet looked at Zack, and both of them moved back again. Ethan. understood the message well and knew he had to save Selena. Benjamin was going to torture her with everything he has if she refused to spill the truth about where the serums were. "We need to go now! We are not having enough time to save her. The system. gave me just four days." Ethan said sweating. "The system? what system?" Barnet asked, looking at Zack, who was also confused. "What are you talking about, soldier boy?" Barnet asked, forcing the words out of his mouth. "We just need to say save her, and that is all that matters." Ethan replied "HHave you forgotten the part where you need to convince the men to join your cause?" Zack said scornfully, taking a seat."And don't forget you killed their fathers and sons. I wonder if they would like to join hands with a murderer." Barnet added Ethan's face changed as h
