“Host can complete tasks to transcend to another level and also collect a reward for tasks.” The system's voice continued and then again a screen appeared in front of him displaying the status of his strength and other things that weren't available to him yet.

Lucas was very much thrilled and wondered what his next task would be. Well, with such fighting skills, no one could mess with him anymore.

Meanwhile, Dianna was the most shocked of all. Wasn’t this the same Lucas the man who she knew days ago? The same person who had ever been beaten by his colleague at work and came back bruised up, and it had to be Freya who took care of him all day long. How was it possible for him to kick those men so far?

Perhaps they are all weaklings. Now I understand the saying that goes — don’t expect too much from someone with just their body size. She thought to herself, huffed before walking back into the house.

Ding! Ding!

Suddenly, Freya's phone because to ring, startling her as the sound came unexpected and was also ear-piercing. Quickly, she pulled it out of her pocket and when she saw the caller, her face turned gloomy.

“Hello uncle…” her voice was shaky as she answered the phone, making Lucas turn to look at her.

“How dare you refuse to come to work today? It seems I have been too polite with you these days that’s why you think you can do what you see fit. You know what? You are fired!” 

The voice roared over the phone. It was obvious that it was her uncle who was managing the Parker family business. (Her family business). Since it was her family company how does he have the right to sack her? A glint of anger appeared in Lucas's eyes as he heard this.

Meanwhile, Freya's body froze. Her eyes widened before she tried to explain. “No uncle. I was emotionally unbalanced. I told you that my husband was missing, so I was looking for him.”

“Huh? Do you mean that loser named Lucas Ross? Ha hahaha. You did this to yourself so don’t blame me. How can you prioritize that punk's life over the company? Hmph! Don’t even dare to come here or even call me!” The voice said and with that, he hung up the phone.

Lucas had wanted to collect the phone and reprimand him, but the call was hung up, and also what he heard just now made him grit his teeth tightly. His wife had asked for permission because she was worried about him and yet, her uncle dared to sack her. Wasn’t that going to be far?

“Wife, come, we are going to that company.” Lucas suddenly said to his wife who looked like she was no longer in control of her body.

“Huh?” She asked, uncertainty brewing inside her.

“You heard me, come, we are going to that company.” He walked over, grabbed her hand, and started leading her out of the compound.

Freya didn’t know his intention and thought that perhaps he wanted to go and beg her uncle to forgive her and reinstate her back to her position. That was what he had wanted to do before and since he was offering to, she felt touched and followed him willingly.

Meanwhile, after they left, Dianna who was inside suddenly received a call. When she saw the caller, her expression became pale before she bit the bullet and went ahead to pick up the call.

“Hello, Mr. Richard.” She said politely over the phone.

“Has he died yet? You promised to have him killed so I can marry your daughter. Keep in mind that I promised to make you a shareholder of Orland Corporation and the monthly allowance alone is enough to lift you from rags to riches.” A voice sounding to be of someone in his late twenties spoke. He was Richard, the man whom Dianna had wanted to pair Freya with, but Lucas had just refused to die.

If at all Freya didn’t like him, then it would have Been easy. But then that stupid girl liked Lucas so much that she could slog her guts out for him. Hearing this, made Rachel clench her fist tightly and her silence was interpreted.

“Let me guess, you couldn’t do it? I thought your son-in-law was just a measly human. Even if he gets erased from the earth, the authorities wouldn’t care about him. Or don’t tell me you change your mind? Well, since that’s it bye!” Richard replied harshly and was about to end the call when Rachel spoke quickly. How could she watch this opportunity go down the drain? Never!

“No! Wait. Please wait. I tried before but the men I sent didn’t do the job. If…you…can help me with some best expert from your end, I’ll be truly grateful.” Dianna explained.

“Hmp! Is that so? Don’t worry, I’ll send some to you later on.” Richard said and with that, he hung up.

After the call Dianna's eyes sparked. This time, she was sure that Richard’s men would be able to carry out the task more efficiently and would no longer be on the face of this earth. That way, she would be able to live in this house, elevate from poverty, and become a rich person.

She began to fancy so many things she would get her hands on especially bags, antiques, and also clothing from famous brands.

On the other hand, Lucas and Freya who had just left arrived at Parker Corporation. It was just a small company that handles magazines and so on and could be regarded as a fourth-tier company.

Both of them walked in, and the workers were quite stunned to see her. Already, information had gone viral that Freya had lost her job and also her position had been given to someone else. No one liked her anyway and this was quite a good piece of news for them.

However, seeing her and her loser husband come back into the company meant they were here to beg and indeed they were out to watch some good show.

As Lucas and Freya made their way to the manager's office they were suddenly blocked by a young man in his earlier twenties. His name was Daniel, Freya's cousin.

“What are you two doing here? I thought my father warned you never to step foot here again?” He reprimanded them and used his body to shield the door they were about to go through.
