Chapter 02 - The Dark King

Walking alone in the middle of a road looking at the crescent moon hanging in the sky, Roger sighed.

He was tired of all this humiliation he was going throw.

He took out the jade buddha that he had bought for Lord Taylor and looked at it with a slight smile. It was hard to tell if that smile was due to happiness or sadness.

Roger had personally visited the auction the previous week and bought the buddha statue for a hundred and fifty thousand dollars to gift it to Lord Taylor on his birthday, but he didn't expect the people there to treat him like that!

More ṭhan the words of the Taylor family, what hurt him most was that his own wife didn't believe him.

Just as he was bemoaning over that, his phone notification rang!

Ding!

[Pearl: Requesting presence]

It was a short message, with two words from someone whom he added as Pearl.

Seeing the message, his facial expression changed! He who was walking towards their home, turned around making his way towards a certain back alley.

The face that contained a hit of sorrow changed completely transforming into an expressionless face.

Shortly after he found himself in an empty alleyway with nothing but a large waste disposal bin, Roger went near the bin as he turned opposite to it and tapped at a particular block of the wall in front of him.

Swing...

Soon after he pressed the block, the wall in front of him opened up, as if it was split into two.

what was presented before him was an elevator which was closed with a biometric device beside it!

Roger placed his hand on it as it scanned his whole hand.

[The Dark King Detected!]

[Opening the elevator]

Shortly after the elevator opened. And inside the elevator stood two women one holding a black coat and the other with a black face mask.

"Greetings, Boss"

Roger nodded his head as he entered the elevator, the woman holding the coat started to help him wear it as the door of the elevator closed.

After some time, on the floor that was unknown, the doors of the elevator opened up, and came out of it was a man wearing a black coat and black mask.

It was a place filled with people in white and black clothes, all seemed like professional workers with the formals that they were wearing.

As soon as they spotted the man, everyone stopped whatever they were doing and stood up to greet him.

Two men with a large build in black and black suits ran to stand behind Roger as soon as they saw him. 

"You are here, Sir"

"Greetings, Sir"

Roger didn't even turn around to look at their faces, instead, he casually moved forward, asking another question.

"Where is Pearl?"

"she is currently in her office chamber, Sir!"

The man behind him answered with a stiff expression as Roger casually walked on as if he knew where the Chamber they told was at.

And soon he found himself inside an office and in front of him was a young woman who seemed to have just entered adulthood.

"Welcome, Sir"

The woman said, getting up from her seat and providing it for him.

Roger didn't mind it and sat on the chair that she just got up from, while he asked.

"Why did you call me?"

Roger didn't waste time asking about something useless and came straight to the point!

"The Emerald company has been successfully acquired!"

Hearing the news a broad smile spread on Roger's face.

"I thought it would take at least two more months....but it seems like we do have some capable people"

He said looking at the beauty's face.

"of course, we do, Sir. after all you are the one who gathered all of us"

The young lady said, and at this movement, someone came inside the office without even knocking!

Pearl was about to shout at the intruder but kept her mouth shut seeing the identity of the one who entered the Office.

"Look who is here? if it isn't our great leader who was always playing with his wife"

The intruder was a woman who looked to be in her late 20s, with a slender yet plump body figure, wearing white and black business attire, she looked extremely stunning and alluring. Just seeing her was a feast for eyes. 

But contrary to that, Roger felt a steep pain in his head seeing her.

"Pearl, please wait outside"

He hurriedly said as he knew would lose his honor if he didn't send her out right now.

Pearl also didn't stand there and hurriedly left the office, after bowing to both roger and the Women who entered the office.

"Roger, how long has it been since we last met? it seems like you have become more handsome in the meantime!"

"You make me blush!", Roger said slightly smiling.

"look at you, how shameless, I am doing all the work here and you are playing around in your wife's house, and you still have the audacity to say that.

"hahaha...You know why I am there, can't you just grant me some slack", The smile slowly disappeared from his face as he pleaded with her.

"No, you have rested for enough! You will be taking care of Emerald by yourself, I have already appointed Pearl as the vice head to support you but you will be going to the company every day from tomorrow", She said in a serious tone.

"What..? you can't do this, Merlin..." Roger felt like his whole world was collapsing.

"And that is final"

Roger didn't get a chance to say anything as the decision was already made.

Even though he was the leader here?

"And believe me if you have any plans of running away from work this time, I will turn the whole "BlackStrom" upside-down", Merlin warned him as she brushed her finger past his face.

" Sharp 9 O'clock in the morning, if you aren't in the chairman's office tomorrow, see what I will do."

She said once again making her way out.

At last, Without any choice, Roger just accepted his fate and decided to go to the company tomorrow.

"And one more thing..."

Merlin said as she was about to leave the room.

"'Lancelot' has successfully infiltrated the military"

A serious look once again found its way on his face as he heard that.
