Jaxon lowered his head, not daring to look up. Diego walked closer to him, and for a minute he thought he would be hit, but instead Diego placed his hand on his shoulder and laughed — for the first time since Jaxon came into the house.

“You surprised me. You were able to face Aaron boldly. That was amazing.” Was Mr. Diego Greyson complimenting him? That was unusual.

Even Felix and Georgia were surprised by the new change of events. “You defended my daughter and made them believe you two are married. I am impressed. You are smart, and you are showing it off.”

Jaxon smiled a little. He couldn't believe what was going on. “Is Mr. Greyson complimenting me? I need to eat. I am suddenly so hungry,” he said, and went upstairs.

“Thank you so much. Seeing you defend my daughter brought me relief. I am glad we chose you.” Georgia smiled brightly and followed her husband.

“Well, that is a first. I though

  • Missing his family

Instead, he picked up his phone and sent a huge amount to his mom for the third time that week. He wanted to make sure they lacked nothing and lived a comfortable life since he had the chance to make things better for them. Immediately after he sent the money, Felix’s call came in. “It seems you can’t go a day without me, right?” he questioned. “Do not flatter yourself,” Felix replied. “Anyway, your first training session will be in the morning, but other days will be at night. After you get back from work, you should get prepared for it.” “All right, boss. I will do just that.” Felix hung up, and Jaxon went back to doing what he was busy with before. In no time, he got everything ready, but there wasn’t a sign of the moving company around. Were they stuck in traffic, or did something happen? The drive from the company to his former apartment wasn’t up to ten minutes, but they d

  • Caught red handed

Juno, get every bag here, he said to his most trusted member, and he went immediately to get everyone's bag. They all threw everyone's bag down, and the money fell from Ryan's bag. Everyone gasped. “Ryan, it was you!” Ryan shook his head. “No, I didn't steal anything. There must be a mix-up somewhere. Someone is trying to blame me here,” he denied. “How dare you!” Mark raged. “No, sir, this is not true! I am being accused here!” He denied it again. Mark angrily punched him in the face, and he fell to the ground. “Call the police!” Ryan lifted his gaze to Jaxon, and his eyes burned in anger. He tried him again, and this time he was going to make him suffer for it. Ryan stood up hastily and rushed to Jaxon. But before he could get to him, Felix stood in the way and caught his wrist. “Young man, do you have anything with him? You seem to

  • Blaming Felix

Their eyes widened when they saw the stack of money on the floor, which fell from Felix’s bag. They were all shocked and concluded he was the thief. Felix remained unmoved and unbothered as murmurs spread behind him. “How dare you steal my money?” the owner roared, staring daggers at Felix, as if wanting to squeeze the life out of him. “Right now, you’re dead!” he threatened. “You shouldn’t assume that money belongs to you. Why don’t you calculate it first?” Felix suggested calmly, not fidgeting even in front of the man’s bulging muscles. “How dare you talk back when you should be kneeling on your knees!” the owner spat, his voice thundering through the hall. Felix rolled his tongue in his mouth and calmly placed both hands in his pockets. “I don’t accept you being disrespectful,” he said. From where he stood, Ryan was fuming with anger. It should’ve been in

  • Meeting the Greyson's

Jaxon walked to the podium with all eyes on him. Their stares were filled with surprise and awe. How was it possible? No wedding was announced. And according to what they were told, Rachel was out of the country, doing her business. Looking around, she wasn’t anywhere close by. Rachel is the daughter of the Greysons. Georgia had to hide her state from them. They had to go far in telling that lie, or else the family would see it as an opportunity to take Diego out of the presidential position of his corporation. Jaxon faced them, smiling broadly. Although he was still moved by their aura, he decided to push it all aside and face them. They were all people like him, and he would surely meet them countless times before the deal was over. “Good day, everyone. Uncles, aunties, cousins. It is a pleasure to meet you all. I have heard so much about you from Rachel, and I must say, I am impressed.” He spoke into the mic. Felix drew his brows together, forming a hard line on his forehead a

  • Welcoming the Greyson son-in-law

Jaxon went back to his room thinking about what Diego said. They had their eyes on his family, which he was aware of, but the main reason for that was to stay close to them, and when he tries to misbehave, they make them suffer for it. It was all shocking, discovering the new rule—were they willing to go that far anyway? He didn’t plan on betraying them because he signed the contract, and he had to fulfill it. The gathering would be the next day, and he needed to get ready for it—to get ready to meet the other family members of the family. He knew he would be standing in front of men whose aura would be so intimidating, but he was prepared to stand his ground. He made to lie down on the bed but got a call again. He groaned loudly, getting tired. Was that how it was to be part of the family of the Greysons? It was frustrating. He picked up his phone and checked the caller—Felix. He hissed and answered the call. “What is it again? It is night and I want to sleep right now,” he que
