William gasped in surprise and took a step back.

"What did you say?"

He was no longer sure if he was hearing this well.

Her face twitched uncontrollably and she snapped at him, "Are you deaf?"

"Wifey, what are you saying?"

"Don't dare call me that nonsense! ," She yelled and glared dangerously at him, "I'm not your wife. Do you even think you deserve to call me that? If not for grandfather, do you think I'll be associated with a loser like you?"

"We're getting a divorce and that's final"

His Mother-in-law puffed her chest and said in disdain, "Now, you have heard it from my daughter. You must agree to divorce, William. She has a bright future and cannot waste it with a loser like you. Old Master Wilson is old and has become short-sighted"

William had a questioning gaze as he looked straight at Tracey who was standing in front of him.

All these years, she hadn't yielded to the pressure of her family and he had gotten comfortable.

Was this because of the presence of Old Master Wilson at the time?

He would brag about loving his wife and whenever his Mother-in-law tried to berate him, he wouldn't be moved because he was sure Tracey would never divorce him.

Right now, he didn't know what to think because looking into her eyes, this wasn't the woman he knew.

She now had a fierce and determined look.

"Why?" Just one word escaped Williamthroat but it was as heavy as a rock and his vision was slowly clouded in hot tears.

Five Years ago, he agreed to marry her just to stay low in this City but he fell head-on in love with her after a month.

Since then, he has done everything within his ability to make her happy.

She was the first woman he had given his heart to and wanted it to remain that way.

"Why?" She scoffed, "You're not worth having me, William. I don't want to hear anything anymore. Leave right now. Tomorrow we're getting a divorce and that's final"

The man behind her wrapped his hand around her and caressed her soft skin with a mocking smile on his face.

Tracey had never allowed him to touch her since their wedding and he had always respected her wish but here she was, allowing another man to touch her this way.

His heart was shattered into a thousand pieces by the sight alone.

William was enraged and he wanted to attack this man who was saying nothing but Tracey was protecting him.

He would hurt her if he tried to hit the bastard.

"You really think highly of yourself. Out of the kindness of my heart, I'll give you a new job so you don't have to pick trash around the city anymore" The man in an Armani suit had finally spoken and the mocking smirk on his lips still lingered.

His Mother-in-law, Elizabeth snorted coldly, "My new son-in-law, why do you bother with this loser who has taken to humiliate my beautiful daughter? He doesn't deserve a single cent of yours"

"I'm a good man, Mother. I'll pay him one million as an addition" He was clearly making fun of William whose fist has now turned white from the clenching motion.

He was on the verge of bursting out.

"I don't need your damn money, stay away from my wife!"

Tracey broke out of his grip and William eyes lit up, thinking she had come to her senses but was shocked by her next action.

Her palm was imprinted on his face as she slapped him across the face.

"I am not your wife, you trash! Get out! Now! Get out, William! Tomorrow we're getting divorced"

This was the last straw that broke William back.

She had never raised her hand at him before, talk less of hitting him in the face.

Did she hate him this much and was determined to get rid of him?

"Charlie," Elizabeth beckoned at the butler who was standing by the side and commanded, "Drag the trash out of our house. Make sure he doesn't stain you"

William was clearly enraged but he had been a man who never allowed emotion to take the best part of him.

He would rather walk away than cause an unfathomable destruction.

Just the same way he walked away from his real-life five years ago and came to this City.

  • 271: No Turning Back

Harry stood motionless, the phone still pressed to his ear as the last of the laughter died away. The world around him seemed to crumble, the weight of the revelation sinking into his bones. He had been used, no, worse. He had been nothing more than a stepping stone, a tool in someone else's game. The realization hit him like a slap to the face, but it wasn’t enough to break the anger that was building inside him.He dropped the phone to the ground, watching as it bounced once, twice, before it clattered to a stop. His fingers twitched with rage, and the gun in his hand suddenly felt too small. Tracey’s tear-filled eyes locked onto his, and for a brief moment, he considered the woman who had once foolishly loved him with everything. But any trace of humanity he had left was swallowed by the rage creeping over him. He turned away from her, away from everything. He strode out of the room, the wheels of his chair screeching against the concrete. His mind raced as he plotted his

Amelia had arrived at her family's villa, and the moment the gates opened, she could see a flurry of activity inside the space. Her mother’s voice pierced the air before she even stepped out of the car.Vera Sinclair was marching down the marble steps with fire in her eyes, flanked by four master practitioners and a visibly tense Edward right behind. Her hands were on her waist. “Where have you been?! Do you have any idea the chaos you caused? We were about to send every Sinclair master out into the city!”Amelia stood still, her hands on the car door, not even glancing in her mother’s direction. Her voice was calm, but her chest was rising and falling with the weight of something heavier. “Is William here?”Vera blinked, almost offended.“Excuse me?”“I said, is William here?” Amelia repeated, turning fully now and facing her parents. Her mo
