Rose picked up the card and looked at it for a few seconds.

"Where did you get this fake card?" She had suddenly caught William off guard and he gasped.

Is this woman crazy?

How dare she call a supreme black card fake?

Five years ago, he was the only one with this exclusive card in the entire city.

From Rose's perspective, the card was fake.

She knew about the platinum card, the gold and silver cards, and the benefits attached to them but a black card?

This is definitely a joke.

This card was different from the others she knew and it didn't even have the company's logo.

This man actually came to make fun of her.

She would make sure to disgrace him and then summon the security guards to deal with him.

How can a poor man be so brave?

Rose took the handheld terminal machine and made to insert the card when William stopped her.

"You must be new here. I need to meet with your Manager. Only the manager has the device to check my balance"

When he said this, her eyes widened, then she laughed hysterically.

The women who were now cautious of the security guards, giggled silently.

This trash picker was a clown.

Perhaps he stole a script from a movie set and memorized some of the lines.

"You're such an idiot" Rose scolded him and inserted the card into the machine.

The screen lit up and there was a prompt demanding the access code.

"This is not going to work" William complained.

The black card won't work in other payment terminals except for the one built for it.

If used in a bank that's not Exclusive Avenue bank, the person would receive a message to use the Exclusive Avenue bank terminal for the card.

But then, it's a trick.

The true owners of black cards know the right place to use the card.

"Input your pin before I call the guards on you" Rose threatened loudly and her gaze was locked onto him.

She wanted to see the peanut in his account if this card was perhaps not fake.

"Hey, Mr. Trillions, we want sister Rose to attend to us. Withdraw your trillions and leave?" The younger woman among the three couldn't hold her disgust for William and had let it out already.

Why do poor people think they can come here and make demands?

This is a place for the upper class in the society and her husband was one.

Naturally, she was one too.

"Sister Rose, throw him out. This man is a popular trash picker and shouldn't even be here. I'm sure he hasn't seen a million before" The second woman did not hesitate to chime in now that her friend had talked.

"Are you going to input it or I'll have you beaten like a dog?" Rose's gaze was now deadly as she threatened William again.

This was supposed to anger him but now, he had an interesting idea.

What happens when his card is used in the Exclusive Avenue bank branch but not the right terminal?

A sly smile escaped William's lips.

This arrogant attendant was about to find out.

He casually inputted his pin and hit the proceed button.

Rose looked over the screen to see the loading process and was patiently waiting but minutes passed and nothing happened.

"So you brought a fake card after all?" She made to raise her voice and summon the security team when something unexpected happened.

All the alarm systems in the bank suddenly became active and the piercing wail reverberated off the walls, slicing through the tension like a knife.

Was there a bank robbery?

This only happened when there was a robbery in the bank.

Suddenly, the bank was flooded with the thunderous sound of heavy footsteps descending from above, and unannounced, the doors burst open with a resounding crash.

A team of elite SWAT officers surged into the room from various directions.

They were clothed in black uniforms, their faces hidden behind menacing masks.

Rose was still trying to understand what was happening when the SWAT team formed a perimeter around her.

They were all aiming the nozzle of their weapons at her and an authoritative voice sounded from one of them, "Drop that card before we kill you!! "

Fear enveloped her instantly and her legs felt like they would give way any second.

Hastily, she released the terminal machine and the men turned their weapons to William who now had a hand in his pocket.

"Where did you find this card?" They demanded.

There was an ultimate silence in the bank hall except for the three women who were still whispering to themselves.

"I knew it, he's a thief"

"He must have stolen that card from someone"

"Now Sister Rose is in trouble. I'm scared"

"This trash picker really dares to cause trouble for sister Rose. These men will kill him today"

"He deserves it"

William remained calm and his expression unreadable.

"Speak before we take action" The leader of the SWAT team had taken a step forward and his aura was imposing but the latter did not bulge.

"Hey, stop right now! " The thick masculine voice of a man sounded from the distance and everyone recognized it immediately.

The authority in his voice reverberated in the room.

It was the bank manager of the branch, Mr. Grey Almond.

The armed men slowly turned their heads to him but didn't retreat their weapons.

"Do you seek death? That is the Young Master, you fools! "

The moment the last word came out of Mr. Grey's mouth, the men retreated their weapons and dropped to their knees before Williams.

"Young Master, You have returned"

At that moment, the balance of power had shifted.

  • 271: No Turning Back

Harry stood motionless, the phone still pressed to his ear as the last of the laughter died away. The world around him seemed to crumble, the weight of the revelation sinking into his bones. He had been used, no, worse. He had been nothing more than a stepping stone, a tool in someone else's game. The realization hit him like a slap to the face, but it wasn’t enough to break the anger that was building inside him.He dropped the phone to the ground, watching as it bounced once, twice, before it clattered to a stop. His fingers twitched with rage, and the gun in his hand suddenly felt too small. Amelia had arrived at her family's villa, and the moment the gates opened, she could see a flurry of activity inside the space. Her mother’s voice pierced the air before she even stepped out of the car.Vera Sinclair was marching down the marble steps with fire in her eyes, flanked by four master practitioners and a visibly tense Edward right behind. Her hands were on her waist. “Where have you been?! Do you have any idea the chaos you caused? We were about to send every Sinclair master out into the city!”Amelia stood still, her hands on the car door, not even glancing in her mother’s direction. Her voice was calm, but her chest was rising and falling with the weight of something heavier. “Is William here?”Vera blinked, almost offended.“Excuse me?”“I said, is William here?” Amelia repeated, turning fully now and facing her parents. Her mo
