Alex shook his head and chuckled.
He knew Sophia despised him.
"Sophia, let me show y—"
He wanted to let Sophia see the real him a bit, but she turned her back to him and walked to the parking lot.
A white four-seat Porsche Panamera pulled up and stopped in front of them.
A stunning young woman stepped out of the car with effortless grace, her elegant dress and sparkling jewelry enhancing her high-fashion allure.
"Sophia," she hugged Sophia.
"Lyra, thanks for coming," Sophia replied joyfully.
"I came as soon as I could when I got your text."
Lyra smiled while eyeing Alex from head to toe and shook her head.
Not a single item of value detected from head to toe.
Apart from being a bit handsome and having a somewhat fitting body, this man was totally worthless.
When Sophia texted her and told her that she was forced to marry a loser and needed a helping hand, she had thought Sophia was exaggerating.
But seeing Alex in person made her realize how unlucky Sophia was.
Most of Sophia's suitors usually carried around $250,000 on their bodies.
However, this man here only carried $25 at most.
“Alex, this is Lyra, my best friend.” Sophia suppressed her dislike and tried to sound polite.
"Nice to meet you, Lyra," Alex said, extending his hand to Lyra out of politeness.
However, Lyra retreated, with obvious disgust in her eyes.
“You know what? Riffraff should know their place.”
She ignored Alex's hand and wrapped her hands around Sophia instead.
Alex chuckled coldly and dropped his hand.
“Come on, we are already late for Chris Roland’s event at the Noble Knight Club,” Lyra smiled mischievously.
Almost everybody in Vancouver knew Chris Roland was one of Sophia’s most devoted suitors.
Lyra had always believed Chris would marry Sophia.
Chris’s father worked for Alfred Kingston, while Chris was the CEO of Biohealth Solution, a company that supported Alfred Kingston's business.
Apart from the giant tier, Kingston, there were four lower tiers in Vancouver's wealth and richest realm.
Chris's family could be called third-tier wealth, a level higher than Lancaster wealth.
Thus, from Lyra's point of view, Chris and Sophia were the perfect match.
"Of course," Sophia happily replied. "Alex, you should come with us."
"Sure," Alex raised his brows.
Maybe Sophia, was still listening to her grandfather's wish to take him around.
Meanwhile, Lyra sneered to herself.
She had already warned Chris Roland in advance.
Chris was livid and eager to teach Alex a lesson that would leave him reflecting deeply in a hospital bed.
She would let Alex know he was a frog in the well, really not fitting the rich life and not fit into Sophia’s lifestyle.
"Let us go then."
They entered Lyra’s car, and she took them to the Noble Knight Club.
It was one of the most exclusive martial arts clubs in the city for nobles and rich people only.
No middle class could enter because of the price.
Even the lowest tier of the rich in Vancouver still thought this club was too expensive.
If the lowest class came, they would be shocked to see how members could spend one year of their salary in one day only.
When they arrived, Alex realized it was a martial arts and war machine club.
Nowadays, martial arts were popular, especially swordsmanship, and most people knew some skills, more or less.
"I can’t wait to see Chris during his match," Lyra yelled and quickly dragged Sophia toward the entrance of the club, leaving Alex behind.
The automatic glass opened as it ran facial recognition for the members and the outside guard gave them a respectful bow.
As Alex approached the entrance, the glass door shut right in front of his face.
The guard sneered at him, "Drivers or servants aren't allowed in. Move along."
Lyra smirked as she pulled Sophia away.
"Let him learn his place; he’ll never be where we are."
“Who told you I am a driver or a servant? I want to enter.” Alex said calmly.
“Then become a member,” the guard yawned.
“You think any Tom and lowlife like you can just walk in here? Leave now, or you’ll regret it."

The wormhole tasted like lightning and old copper.Alex felt it before he understood it — that electric wrongness on his tongue, the metallic pull at the back of his throat, as the old man carried him through the tear in space.Ragnar was there too, limp and silent, the old man bearing both of them through the fold in reality as though he'd done it a thousand times.Alex had no idea where they were taking him. He knew only one thing with terrible certainty: he would not survive the journey's end.Whatever mercy had kept him breathing until now would end the moment they stepped through the other side.Move.His nascent soul power surged from that buried place, and Alex threw every fragment of it against his own chains. His muscles screamed. His vision strobed white. And then — the

"It's fabricated." Ragnar's composure had finally begun to fray at the seams, his certainty fraying with it. "It's a projection. A trick. You're being manipulated — all of you — this is a fraud!"Around him, people exchanged uncertain glances, the seed of doubt quietly taking root among the crowd."Fraud?" The word left Alex's lips with a sharp laugh — humorless, deliberate. "Then let's go live."A soft mechanical hum moved through the hall.Eve drifted forward — unhurried, silver, small — as though the chaos filling the hall were nothing more than weather passing through. Its casing opened gently, and from its optical array two live feeds bloomed into the air: soft but clear, laying both armies bare for every soul in the room to witness."Sofina." Alex's voice was quiet and precise. "You can address those armies directly. From here. They will see your face — and every word you speak, they will hear."Sofina straightened."People of House Dornwald. People of House Eisenwall." Her voic

One month ago, Alex stood before Zhuge Liang.“I’ve secured our connection with Estoria. The rest is yours to manage. Let’s make sure both countries grow together.”Zhuge Liang bowed, robes whispering against the polished floor. “Your Majesty. Your command will be done.”“Good. I’m entering the training realm to raise my cultivation. Keep everything running smoothly in my absence.”“Yes, Your Majesty.” Another precise bow.Alex turned and walked away. The words were a lie. He had never intended to set foot in the Wudang dimensional realm.Mid-flight, he summoned the Voxen Lucifer. The craft dropped out of stealth beside him, its matte-black hull drinking the light, engines already spooling with a low, predatory hum.“Been a while, buddy,” Alex muttered. “Let’s move.”The hatch unsealed with a pressurized hiss. He vaulted inside. The seat molded around him as the canopy sealed.“Prussia. Full burn. Now.”The Voxen Lucifer punched forward. The world outside blurred into streaks of cloud
Chapter 680
The Prussian succession had been a slaughter dressed as politics for five years.Twenty princes and one princess fought for the throne, and the only rule that mattered was brutally clear: win the support of five out of eight dukes, and the crown belonged to the winner.Brothers who had once trained together now hired knives in the dark. Factions formed at dawn and shattered by dusk. One prince would swear eternal loyalty to another over wine, then send poison before morning. The royal palace in Königsberg had become a graveyard of ambition. The first prince and the second prince had each secured two powerful dukes early. Their alliances were the standard everyone measured themselves against. Then, Sofina changed the game completely, backed by the influential dukes who had chosen to support her.The first duke to pledge his support was Duke Winter. He stood by Sofina, alongside his daughter Renata Winter—her best friend since childhood and the one who had carried her darkest secrets for

The great hall of the imperial pavilion held its breath.Alex sat on the emperor’s throne, the weight of the dragon robes pressing against his shoulders like a living thing. Eighteen governors lined the chamber in ordered rows. Zhuge Liang stood at his right hand, motionless, eyes fixed on nothing and everything at once.A month had passed since the crown had settled on Alex’s head. The northern armies were broken, the provinces quiet, the old Murim Alliance reduced to ash and memory. Yet the silence in the room felt brittle, as if the peace they had bought with blood might crack at the first wrong word.Alex leaned forward a fraction. The movement was small, but every governor straightened.“I have an announcement.”Eighteen voices answered in near unison, low and careful. “We are listening, Your Majesty.”He let the pause stretch one heartbeat longer than comfort allowed. “For longer than any of us can remember, Xia has kept its doors closed to the world. That policy ends today. We
