The phone screen in my hand flashed bright red, displaying a new emergency warning that made my blood run cold.
[System Alert: Global Council Red Notice Activated.]
[Target: Host and All Associated Members.]
[Incoming Force: Three international strike divisions moving toward Lagos.]
Grandfather Victor was gone, locked away inside the mechanical heart of the vault, but he had left behind a final parting gift. Before his defeat, his system terminal had sent an automated signal to the supreme leaders of the syndicate across the world. The True Ancestors were not just a local group in Lagos. They controlled financial hubs in London, New York, and Tokyo. And now, all of their resources were turning toward our city.
"Tunde," Ms. Alabi said, her voice cutting through my thoughts as she stared at her laptop screen. "The data packets I downloaded from the Apex building just triggered a massive alarm on the international banking network. The global council is freezing every corporate asset we control."
"Let them try," Ifeoma said, stepping forward with her hands resting casually in her coat pockets. Her face was completely calm, showing the cold, calculating mind that had kept her alive inside the syndicate for twelve years. "Grandfather thought he was the only one who knew how to play the system. But while he was busy building his vault, I copied the master keys to their offshore accounts."
I looked at my sister, feeling a deep wave of respect mixed with awe. She had spent years playing a dangerous game of deception, acting as a loyal soldier for the very monsters who destroyed our family, all so she could steal their secrets from the inside.
"Can you transfer the funds back to our accounts?" I asked, walking over to stand beside her.
"I already did," Ifeoma replied, a faint smile touching the corner of her lips. "Every single dollar the syndicate stole from our parents twelve years ago is currently moving into clean corporate accounts registered under Apex Global."
[System Notice: Asset recovery complete.]

A new gold-colored interface opened up in my mind, showing a detailed map of the world with glowing red and green dots. The red dots represented the strike divisions sent by the global council. The green dots represented the local assets, security teams, and properties we now controlled across Nigeria.
Commander Okoro walked over, wiping dust off his jacket after the fight. "The exit tunnel is still blocked by solid stone from the blast. How are we going to get back to the surface before their strike team finds this location?"
"We do not need to go back the way we came," I said, pointing toward a secondary metal door at the back of the vault. "The system map shows an underground transit line connecting this vault directly to the private harbor near Victoria Island."
"Good," Ms. Alabi said, packing her laptop into her bag with fast, efficient movements. "My security team has a transport boat waiting at the docks. If we move right now, we can reach the safehouse before the international flights land."
We moved quickly through the secondary door, following a narrow concrete tunnel that sloped downward toward the ocean. The air smelled of salt water and damp earth. After walking for ten minutes, the tunnel opened up into a wide underground dock where a sleek black speed boat bobbed gently against the dark water.
We climbed aboard quickly. Ms. Alabi took the pilot's seat, her fingers flying over the control panel as the engine roared to life with a deep, low rumble.
"Hold on," Ms. Alabi warned.
She pushed the throttle forward, and the boat shot out of the underground dock like a bullet, bursting into the open sea under the dark Lagos night sky. The cool wind rushed past our faces as we sped across the water toward the safety of the mainland.
I stood near the front of the boat, looking back toward the distant shoreline where the lights of the city glittered against the dark horizon. We had defeated Babajide. We had locked away Grandfather Victor. We had taken back our company and our family's wealth.
But as I looked at the global map glowing on my phone screen, I knew the real war was only just beginning. The international council would never forgive us for taking their money.
Suddenly, the phone in my hand vibrated violently, and the screen turned completely black before a single new message appeared in bold white letters.
[Incoming Direct Call from: The High Council Chairman.]
I stared at the screen for a second, then tapped the accept button and held the phone up to my ear.
"Tunde," a cold, smooth voice echoed through the speaker, sounding like polished glass. "You have broken a lot of toys tonight. But you forgot one simple truth about the world."
"What truth is that?" I asked, my voice steady and cold.
"The ocean does not negotiate with a storm," the Chairman replied softly. "We are already standing on your doorstep."
Before I could answer, a loud explosion echoed from the shoreline ahead of us, and a massive pillar of fire erupted directly over our safehouse near the harbor.

The Guest from the Past
The heavy car door clicked shut, echoing loudly across the empty street outside the glittering glass tower. The enforcer stood tall under the bright streetlights, holding the silver briefcase in one hand and the golden invitation card in the other. His lips curved into a sharp, mocking grin that made my fists clench instantly."You think you can just walk into Babajide's party and take back your family's empire?" the enforcer asked, tossing the golden invitation card onto the pavement right at my feet. "The Supreme Leader has been watching your every move, Tunde. He knows about the system. He knows about the dragon bloodline."Ms. Alabi stepped forward, her eyes narrowing as she studied the man's face. "Elder Balogun is hiding behind his proxies because he is a coward. If he wants to talk, tell him to step out into the light instead of sending a messenger."
Ashes of the Past
The heat from the burning mansion hit my back like a wall of fire. I rolled across the grass, holding the golden box tightly against my chest, while chunks of burning wood and broken stone rained down around us.I pushed myself up to my feet, coughing from the thick gray smoke. A few feet away, Ms. Alabi was dusting ash off her ruined designer suit, coughing lightly, with Ronke lying flat on the grass beside her. Ronke was shaking all over, her white lace dress torn and covered in black soot."Is everyone alive?" Ms. Alabi asked, her voice sharp as she looked over at me."I am fine," I said, looking down at the golden box in my hands. The box was no longer glowing red. The dangerous light had faded away, leaving the metal warm and quiet. Before Ronke could even catch her
The Trap Inside the Mansion
The sound of shattering glass filled the grand hall as dozens of armed mercenaries dropped from the upper balconies. Their black uniforms and red-painted badges gleamed under the bright chandeliers. They raised their assault rifles, pointing every barrel directly at Ms. Alabi and me.Ronke stumbled backward down the marble stairs, dropping the glowing golden box as pure panic took over her face. She looked at the armed men, then at the box pulsing with a dangerous red light on the floor."Wait!" Ronke cried out, holding her hands up toward the mercenaries. "I am your commander! The Black Sun leadership promised me control of this branch!"The lead mercenary, a tall man with a jagged scar across his cheek, did not even look at her. He laughed coldly, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "You were never our leader,
The Betrayal at the Gate
The phone screen went dark, but Ronke’s smiling face stayed burned in my mind. Seeing my ex-wife standing inside my family’s old estate, holding my father’s golden box like she owned it, sent a sharp wave of fury through my veins. She had helped destroy my life, thrown me out like garbage, and now she was waiting for me at the very place where everything started."Step on it," I told Commander Okoro, my voice shaking with raw anger.Okoro slammed his foot down hard on the pedal. The van sped down the highway, its tires screaming against the asphalt as we tore through the night toward the edge of the city.In the back seat, Ms. Alabi was busy checking Ife’s vitals. She shined a small penlight into my sister's eyes, then looked up at me with a serious expression. "Her pulse is stabilizing, Tund
The Price of Blood
The red alarm lights spun in a circle, painting the underground lab in angry flashes of red. The glass tubes around us cracked wide open, and the shadowy creatures stepped forward. They were not human. Their bodies were made of dense black smoke, and their eyes burned like hot coals."Kill them all," the clone ordered, pointing his hand right at my face. Before the shadowy monsters could jump across the room, Ms. Alabi stepped forward. She did not look scared at all. Instead, her face turned cold and sharp, showing the ruthless personality that made her one of the most powerful business leaders in Lagos. She pulled a small silver remote from her pocket and pressed a bright red button."You think you are the only one who prepared a trap, little copycat?" Ms. Alabi asked, her voice carrying clearly over the blaring al
The Fall into the Abyss
The freezing water hit my face like a wall of solid ice. The bridge had melted beneath our feet, and the dark river below swallowed us whole. The current was fast and rough, pulling me down into the deep black water while my lungs burned for air.I kicked my legs hard, pushing upward against the heavy pressure. My hands brushed against concrete pillars and twisted metal beams until my head finally broke the surface. I coughed out dirty water, wiping my eyes to look around the dark river. The bridge above was broken in half, dangling wires sparking orange light into the night. On the shore, sirens began to wail in the distance as police cars rushed toward the scene. But I did not care about the police. My eyes searched the dark water for Ife."Tunde!"The voice came from
