CHAPTER 7. BEG TO SAVE
last update2024-09-12 22:03:04

All eyes were now on Oliver, and whispers again filled the room. Guests who were previously astonished are now showing admiration. They were beginning to realize that Oliver was not random, and the warm welcome from the Hoshier family added to the aura of mystery around him.

"Thank you, Mr. Hoshier. I really appreciate your welcome." Oliver half bowed respectfully to Mr. Hoshier.

"Have you received the potion that my servant has brought?" he asked kindly.

"Yes, I have received it and have given it to my father. Thank you for your help."

If Mr. Hoshier hadn't helped him to get the potion, he might still be busy looking for a potion to treat his father today.

"I also thank you for saving my life earlier," he said, "I have prepared a sumptuous dinner to welcome you. Come, join us..."

"You're being too nice to him," Elena said in a non-angry tone. She even stood there without pushing her father's wheelchair to go to the hall that had been set up for their dinner.

"Elena..."

"Dad, he hasn't even cured your illness completely and you're already treating him like a national hero. We don't know if he's an imposter who deliberately approached us because of the power we have!"

"Elena, watch your words!" snapped Mr. Hoshier. "You shouldn't say things like that in front of him."

"But I was just talking about the facts!" Elena exclaimed emphatically. "He's not your doctor. Just touching your chest and he's acting like he's doing wonders with what he's doing!"

"Elenaー"

"It doesn't matter if your daughter doesn't trust me," Oliver interrupted quickly. "I've never urged you to believe in my abilities either."

"Scammers always say things like that," Elena snapped.

"Elena, enough! You've been disrespectful to a guest! Is that how you treat the man who saved your father's life?!" shouted Mr. Hoshier in a fit of rage. "Apologize to him right now!"

"I won’t do it, Dad!" Elena refused firmly.

"Elena!"

"I didn’t do anything wrong and I don't want to apologize!"

"Elena, youー"

Suddenly Mr. Hoshier coughed violently and let out black blood which shocked everyone around him. Elena, his daughter, cried out in panic, her face pale and her eyes full of fear. She immediately knelt beside her father, trying to check his condition with trembling hands.

"Doctor! Hurry and get a doctor!" cried Elena, her voice full of anxiety.

Oliver who witnessed the situation felt his heart tremble. He quickly realized that Mr. Hoshier's condition was worse than he thought. Swiftly, Oliver led the group to the main room of the hotel, where they laid Mr. Hoshier down on the large bed that had been prepared.

After placing Mr. Hoshier carefully, Oliver observed the his body, looking for signs that could help him in his diagnosis. However, when he was about to treat Mr. Hoshier, Elena suddenly brushed his hand away violently.

"What are you trying to do?!" snapped Elena in an angry tone. Her face was bright red, and her eyes were fiery. "My Dad is like this because of your ridiculous treatment methods!"

Oliver remained calm despite being surprised by Elena's reaction. He understood that Elena was worried about her father's condition, just as he had been.

"Your father's condition is serious and needs treatment as soon as possible," he said in a calm but firm voice. "There is no time for arguments."

Elena stared at Oliver with burning anger. "Even if my daddy's condition is serious and needs immediate treatment, it's definitely not with you!" She exclaimed, her inner voice filled with anger and annoyance.

At that moment, the door to the room opened and a very experienced-looking doctor entered with quick steps. Elena immediately felt relieved. Her face instantly brightened when she saw the doctor.

"Doctor Lin! Thank God, you came," Elena said in a hopeful tone. "My daddy needs your help immediately!"

Doctor Lin, a middle-aged man with a professional demeanor and a face that showed expertise, immediately approached the bed where Mr. Hoshier lay. He examined the patient's condition quickly but thoroughly. While Oliver stood in the corner of the room observing what was happening.

"What happened?" he asked as he watched closely.

"He suddenly coughed up black blood and his condition deteriorated very quickly," Elena explained quickly.

"I understand, I'll check his condition first."

Doctor Lin began to examine Mr. Hoshier carefully, his face showing deep concentration. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Elena with a serious gaze.

"Who treated Mr. Hoshier before me?" he asked as he opened his doctor's coat and took out medical instruments from his pocket.

Elena, who looked anxious, answered in a trembling voice. "He  is-"

"I believe that the previous doctor has forcibly activated his remaining vitality. This made Mr. Hoshier's situation extremely dangerous. His condition is now very critical." Before Elena could finish her sentence, Doctor Lin cut in with a stern tone.

Hearing Doctor Lin's explanation, Elena's face became even paler. Tears began to well up in her eyes, and she stared at Oliver with overflowing anger.

"You! That stupid treatment of yours put my father in danger! If his life is in danger because of your treatment, I won't let you go!" she exclaimed angrily. Elena pushed Oliver roughly, making Oliver's body stagger slightly.

Oliver, though surprised by Elena's reaction, tried to keep his composure. He watched as Doctor Lin took out a silver needle to puncture Mr. Hoshier's chest. Oliver knew what the doctor was doing was not a good idea given Mr. Hoshier's current condition.

"Doctor, what you are doing will not save Mr. Hoshier. It will only make his condition worse," he said in a flat voice, holding back the annoyance in his heart.

Doctor Lin turned to Oliver with a skeptical look. "And who are you to pass such a judgment? I doubt that you could know how medicine works if you're still too young to be an expert in this field!"

Elena, angry and frustrated, rebuked Oliver in a harsh tone. She was fed up with all the thoughts about the treatment Oliver was talking about and the strange methods he was practicing.

"You have no right to speak here! Get out of here and leave my daddy's treatment alone! We don't need comments from a freak like you!" She snapped and dragged Oliver's hand roughly out of the room.

Oliver looked at Elena patiently, though the pain in his heart was hard to bear.

"I'll wait outside until you beg me to save your father."
