Marwan walked up to the familiar house of Hazim and Laith’s grandparents, his heart pounding with nervous excitement. He knocked, and within moments, the door swung open to reveal Hajja Um Salah, her face lighting up at the sight of him.

"Marwan! My boy, come in, come in!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a warm embrace. "I’ve missed you so much!"

Marwan smiled, returning the hug. "I’ve missed you too. You look well."

She patted his cheek affectionately before stepping back. "Where have you been hiding? You never visit us enough!"

"I’ll do better, I promise," he said sheepishly. Then, glancing past her, he asked, "Is Hajj Ahmed home?"

"Oh yes, he’s in the library, reading as usual." She waved him inside. "Go on, he’ll be happy to see you."

Marwan nodded and made his way to the library, pausing at the door to announce himself. "Hajj Ahmed? May I come in?"

A deep, warm voice replied, "Marwan? Of course, enter!"

Pushing the door open, Marwan found Hajj Ahmed seated in his

Hazim and Jamil came to their senses and realized the magnitude of the trouble they had gotten themselves into. The roar of the unnatural crowd made it hard to think. Hazim gripped Jamil's arm, pulling him close so he could be heard over the din."We can't fight our way out of this," Hazim said, his voice low and urgent. "Look at them. There are hundreds. Recklessness will get us killed."Jamil's eyes darted across the sea of strange, cheering faces. "So what do we do? Surrender?""No," Hazim countered, his gaze fixed on Labeeb, who was basking in the adoration of the crowd. "We use diplomacy. We talk. The only way we walk out of here is if we keep our cool and try to reason with that sinister being who lured us here."Before Jamil could protest further, Hazim took the first step. He moved to the top of the stone stairs leading down into the arena sand and, forcing a calm he didn't feel, raised his hands in a tentative greeting to the roaring crowds.Jamil watched, his heart hammering

Jamil waited for Hazim on the outskirts of the city. The moment Hazim arrived, the two set off toward the location Jameel suspected hid a ghoul—a particularly dangerous one. As they walked, Jameel turned to Hazim, his voice low. "I’m sorry for calling you," Jamil said. "But you’re the only one I can rely on." He trusted all his men, but beneath his hardened exterior, his heart had grown tender. He feared for them—or perhaps pitied them, since most of his soldiers were so young. Hazim shook his head. "We were young too when we started. Younger than them. And we can’t stop them from doing their duty." Jamil nodded. "You’re right. I know I have to give them a chance, trust them—even encourage them. But sometimes…" His voice faltered. "Sometimes my heart weakens, especially when I remember those we’ve lost." Hazim’s gaze darkened. "I remember them every day. I pray for them. And I stay focused on our mission so their sacrifices won’t be wasted." He exhaled. "‘Indeed, we belong t

Malik, Ali, and Marwan combed through every inch of the rugged mountain, their advanced armor scanners sweeping methodically across the rocky slopes and dense pine forests. But despite their thorough search, they found no trace of the little girl or her parents."Where is she?" Malik muttered, his voice tight with frustration as he kicked a loose stone. "She was supposed to be right here in this car!"Marwan ran a hand through his sweat-dampened hair. "Maybe the ghoul took her further into the mountains. Or..." He trailed off, unwilling to voice the grim alternative.Ali suddenly froze, his eyes widening behind his visor. "The helicopter," he said quietly."What did you say?" Malik snapped."When we first arrived," Ali continued, pulling up his wrist display, "I saw a military chopper in the distance. I thought it was just routine patrol..."He quickly pulled out his phone and typed a few words, the search results showed : "ARMY HEROES RESCUE CHILD FROM GHOUL ATTACK!"The trio watche

Ali, Malik, and Marwan practiced their sword drills. The rhythmic clang of steel echoed off the walls while sweat dripped from their brows. Their focused movements spoke of years of discipline and training.A nearby television was turned on, a background noise to their session, with the familiar opening theme of the state news broadcast. The screen showed campaign banners and the familiar face of the long-serving president."The presidential elections will begin next month," the news anchor announced in her usual polished tone. "Campaign rallies are scheduled to—"Malik's sword hit the floor with a clatter as he marched to the television and punched the power button. The screen went dark immediately."What's the point?" Malik growled, his voice thick with frustration. "That walking corpse will win again, just like he has for fifteen straight years. Rigged votes, staged celebrations, nothing ever changes."Marwan wiped his forehead with his sleeve. "I don't give a damn who sits in that

Hazim’s phone buzzed on the table. He picked it up, recognizing the number immediately. It was Jamil. “Brother,” Hazim answered. “How are you holding up?” Jameel’s voice was steady, but there was a quiet tension beneath it. “We’re managing. I spoke to the association—they’re handling the legal side. Lawyers are being hired, and they assured me they’ll fight this in court.” Hazim exhaled. “That’s good. What about your men?” A pause. Then a faint sigh. “Frustrated. Angry, even. Some of them wanted to retaliate right then and there. But I convinced them to stand down. Told them to take breaks, even go on vacations if they can. The last thing we need right now is a clash with the police.” Hazim nodded, though Jameel couldn’t see it. “Smart. You’re keeping them disciplined.” “I have to,” Jameel said simply. “If we lose control now, we lose everything.” They exchanged a few more words before ending the call. Hazim set the phone down, his expression pensive. Hadi, who had bee

The streets of Jenin were filled with the chants of protesters, their voices rising against the recent surge in fuel and electricity prices. Men and women, young and old, held signs aloft, demanding justice as their frustration boiled over. The air was thick with tension and soon, with the acrid sting of tear gas. Police in riot gear moved aggressively through the crowd, batons swinging. A young man, barely more than a teenager, stumbled back as an officer grabbed him by the collar, raising his baton. The boy shielded his face, bracing for the blow. But to his surprise, he wasn't hit. A hand clamped down on the officer’s wrist, stopping him mid-swing. The officer turned, scowling, to see Zain Al Rajih, clad in the armor of the Jenin knights, his expression hard. Without a word, Zain pulled the officer away from the young man, shielding the protester with his body. "Enough," Zain said firmly. The officer shoved him back, his face twisted in anger. "This isn’t your business, kn
