The morning sun shone brightly, and the rays flickered into the small room and caused a teenage boy to wake up from his slumber.
He stood up from his bed sluggishly, yawning, while stretching his body. After making sure he was fully awake, he walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day's activity.
In a few minutes, he stepped out of the bathroom fully clothed in his leather brown jacket and black trousers. He picked up his bag before exiting his room.
Exiting the room, he arrived in the living room where an elderly man could be seen sitting down behind a round table and having breakfast.
"Good morning, Dad." The boy known as Eric greeted as he sat down in the chair opposite his father and picked up a spoon to start eating.
"How was your night?" Eric's father, known as Gary, inquired while eating his breakfast.
"Good, I guess," Eric responded softly as he dug into his food and began to fill up his mouth.
"Don't tell me you are still concerned about yesterday's incident?" Gary questioned with a concerned look on his face, but Eric didn't respond as he buried his head down while eating his meal.
The incident Gary was talking about yesterday was when Eric was sent to the river to get water for his father.
After Eric was done fetching the water, he decided to have a quick swim since he had been under the hot sun for several hours.
While he was at it, his clothes were magically set on fire right where he kept them and burned to ashes. Eric came out of the river after his swim and attempted to put on his clothes, but all he saw was a pile of ashes lying there.
Perplexed by what happened, he shifted his gaze to the side and saw a group of boys with magical wands laughing at him and raining words of abuse on him.
Since his clothes were all burnt, Eric had to return home naked with his hands covering his crown Jewel, and he faced humiliation on his way home. "Don't let that worry, son," Gary muttered.
"Don't let it worry me? I am being bullied every day by these guys! It's always one thing or the other, one prank or the other, and there's nothing I can do about it because I have no magical abilities and I am nothing but a weakling!"
Eric slammed his fist on the table and rose from his chair furiously before running towards the exit door.
He halted his steps in front of the door and turned around to face his father, who was worried about him.
"I'm sorry, Dad." Eric apologized after realizing he shouldn't have raised his voice. "I will be going to the market like you asked and get the vegetables." He added before opening the door and exiting the place.
Gary sat there and watched him leave before letting out a heavy sigh of concern.
Eric is the only boy in the current world who doesn't know how to cast spells. His body cells were too weak to contain magic, so he was left with nothing.
He went through bullying from everyone in the village day in and day out because of that, and all he had to do was bury his head down and endure it.
After walking through the streets for several minutes, Eric finally arrived at the market. The place was filled with several shops that sold different types of goods and foodstuffs, and people could be seen moving from shop to shop buying what they needed.
Eric glanced around the place before advancing and began to head towards the vegetable shop.
He suddenly halted his steps after catching sight of people gathering up on a certain spot, and they all seemed to be watching something.
Out of curiosity, Eric made his way towards the crowd, but he couldn't see anything due to the towering men that stood in front of him.
Eric began to squeeze his way through the crowd until he finally arrived in front and could see what everyone was excited about.
Standing at the center of the place were two men clad in long purple robes, and a long purple hat worn on their heads.
A wand gripped firmly in their right hands that had sparks of magic on the tip of it. "Mages from the Magical academy?" Eric exclaimed, his eyes widened in excitement after catching sight of the men.
One of he magicians stepped forward, confident, and cleared his throat before speaking. "Good day, everyone! As we all know, we go from village to village seeking talented children to join the magical academy and become a powerful mage like us in the future. Luckily for you, our next stop was this particular village, and we will be picking a few children from here!" The mage announced, and the crowd, including Eric, began to clap their hands.
Eric has always wanted to join the Magical Academy and become a powerful mage who would help people in the future, so this was definitely an opportunity for him.
"We will be conducting a test in two days in this market. A test that would help us choose the people who would be following us back to the magical academy!" The mage spoke further. "So, if you wish for your children to participate in this test, make sure you are here in two days! Only five people would be chosen!"
As the man announced, the second mage began to walk around, distributing fliers to everyone that had the information of the test written on it.
The man arrived in front of Eric, who was eager to collect, and when he glanced at Eric's face and realized he didn't have magic, he walked past him without giving him the flier.
Eric's blood boiled in anger as the mage walked past him after realizing he was the weakling in the rumors he had heard.

The hooded man informedHearing the words of the hooded man, the eyes of the mage widened in shock, and his heart skipped a beat. "Impossible!" The mage blurted out. "I thought they killed the lover of the goddess and also her son!""It appears the magical gods only made that story up to convince everyone that the abomination has been taken care of, but the truth is, the son of the phoenix goddess still lives, and he just awakened the phoenix's magical ability." The hooded man remarked in the same deep and terrifying voice."This is bad. If our Lord finds out about this, he would definitely go mad. The Phoenix goddess was the only magical god who had the power to stop him, and now that her son wields that power, it means there's someone out there who is capable of defeating our Lord." The mage voiced out in a worrisome tone."We can't let that happen. If the Lord finds ou

Eric ran through the street, and it took him nothing less than ten minutes before arriving back home. He pushed the door open and walked inside. "Good evening, Dad." Eric greeted as he sat down on the wooden chair where his father had already served his food. He picked up a spoon and began eating. After successfully channeling his magic, Eric felt really hungry to the extent that he felt like he could eat a full cow on his own.The channelling drained all of his energy. "So, you want to tell me that you've been out taking a stroll?" Gary questioned as he sat down opposite Eric."Uhmm, yeah. I was taking a walk." Eric replied."Taking a walk for 9 hours?" Gary blurted out."Yeah, I was definitely taking a walk." Eric lied as he kept eating his food. "All this information I learnt yesterday was a bit too much, and I needed time to think about it and digest this whole thing," Eric added."I just hope you did exactly like I told you and didn't reveal anything to anyone," Gary uttered."I
CHAPTER 8
Eric ran through the street feeling anxious about everything, and he couldn't wait to ask Ali more questions relating to his newfound ability. Eric finally arrived in the woods, and he began to make his way towards the area where he found the temple. "Huh?" A puzzled expression appeared on Eric's face as he finally arrived there. "Where is the temple?" Eric blurted. The spot where the temple once stood was empty, and all Eric could see now was tall trees and grass."Did I miss my way?" Eric mused as he glanced around the place with a puzzled expression. "This is definitely the place. Why then isn't it here?"None of it made sense to Eric. How could a giant building like that suddenly vanish into thin air without any trace?"Was it all an illusion!" Eric then straightened one of his fingers and summoned a small flame above it. "I have my magic, I have the spell book, so it definitely wasn't an illusion. The temple was here yesterday, but now it is gone. What happened to that old man?
CHAPTER 7
Eric had his gaze fixed intently on the page of the spell book. The words that were once written in a language that Eric didn't understand were now written boldly in English. The page contains instructions on how to master the basic technique in the spell book. Eric glanced through the page quickly and also noticed a drawing below the page, demonstrating what needs to be done for him to get a hang of the technique."Circulation technique. A technique where I learn how to circulate my magical cells around my body, and once I master it, my strength, agility, perception, and speed would be increased." Eric mused with his fingers rubbing his chin in contemplation.Every magician's speed and strength are far greater than those of a normal human without magic. Eric thought their speed was different because they must have used some spell to boost it, but the truth was they already mastered the number one technique in their spell book, which was to circulate their magical cells around their

Eric ran through the dimly lit street for several minutes until he finally arrived home. He pushed the door open and walked in to see his father pacing back and forth in the living room."Eric, where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you! I even went to the market, but you were not there!" Gary voiced out after catching sight of Eric."Forget all that and let's discuss something more important, Dad," Eric uttered as he walked towards him."What's the matter, Eric? Is everything okay?" Gary questioned."How can everything be okay when you lied to me!" Eric voiced out in anger."What are you talking about? Eric, you are scaring me." Gary inquired."I am talking about this." Eric then lifted one of his fingers, and a red flame could be seen dancing above it. Gary's eyes widened slightly after catching a glimpse of the flame."How did you do that? How did you find out about this, Eric?" Gary asked in disbelief."So it's true? Why didn't you tell me anything about this?" Eric
CHAPTER 5
"Shut up!" Eric shouted as he threw out both of his hands with his palms wide open, and what looked like a round fireball shot out from the palms of his hands and headed towards Ali.Catching sight of the beam heading towards him, Ali stretched forth his wand and muttered a quick spell, and what looked like ice shot out from his wand and got rid of the incoming fireball.Eric's eyes widened in shock at what had just happened, and he quickly shifted his gaze to his palms, where the fireballs came from. "Did I just cast a spell?" Eric uttered in disbelief."You are a natural, Eric. I didn't expect any less from the descendant of the Phoenix goddess. Your magic must have triggered unconsciously when you were filled with several emotions like anger, sadness, confusion, and joy. Sometimes your emotions could help you control your abilities and use them to the fullest." Ali explained."Also, I am sure you didn't notice the bracelet in your hand glowing before it vanished into thin air," Ali
