The group was stunned by what they were witnessing.

Carefully, Adam removed a body from within the creature's shell, after removing it from roots that attached to its body. He was a tall young man with black hair, and at that moment he was unconscious.

He stank, being covered in dirt and bruises, but he was alive.

Chloe was the first to react, concern evident on her face. She exclaimed, "My God, look at him! He's alive!"
