The chief security guard felt all the strength drain from his legs.

The Black Dragon Sovereign Card.

It was made of black titanium alloy, and in the center sat an uncut diamond surrounded by ancient dragon scales. In the internal manual of the Cross Security Group, every guard had to memorize this card on their first day of training.

Only five of these cards existed in the world.

Anyone who held this card possessed higher authority than the owner of the Apex Club himself. A single word from the cardholder could shut this entire facility down in ten seconds.

"Is this card fake?" Ethan asked calmly.

"No! No, My Lord!" the chief guard stammered in absolute horror.

His stun baton clattered onto the floor. The muscular guard bent his waist, bowing until his forehead almost touched his knees.

The three other guards behind him snapped to attention, bowing at a sharp ninety-degree angle.

"Please forgive our blindness, Supreme VIP!" the chief guard begged, cold sweat dripping from his chin. "We failed to recognize your supreme presence! Please, enter!"

With a soft chime, the glass security doors slid open completely.

Ethan placed the black card back into his canvas pocket, adjusted his wooden toolbox over his shoulder, and strolled inside with effortless calm.

Inside the grand foyer, Chloe Jenkins stared through the glass in shock.

"Why are the guards bowing to him?!" Chloe shrieked in disbelief.

Claire Hayes was equally stunned. The guards here were notorious for their cold arrogance, treating even multi-millionaires with strict indifference. Yet they were bowing to Ethan like he was royalty!

Chloe folded her arms and sneered with sudden realization.

"You stole that VIP pass, didn't you?!" Chloe scoffed loudly. "You pickpocketed some drunk billionaire on the street! Once management checks the system, you will be thrown into prison!"

Claire looked at Ethan with deep suspicion. "Ethan, where did you get a pass to this club? Even my family had to spend two million dollars for a basic membership."

Before Ethan could reply, the golden doors of the private elevator dinged loudly.

A portly middle-aged man in a tailored tuxedo sprinted into the foyer, wiping sweat from his red face with a silk handkerchief.

It was George Shaw, the General Manager of the Apex Club.

An emergency alert had just flashed across George's terminal: The Sovereign Black Card has arrived at the front gate.

George rushed forward, skidding to a halt before Ethan's dusty sneakers, and bowed deeply.

"Greetings, distinguished guest!" George panted, trying to catch his breath. "I am George Shaw, General Manager! Allow me to escort you to the Imperial Suite!"

Chloe was stunned. "Manager Shaw?! Why are you bowing to a beggar?! Look at his clothes! He is just an uneducated wanderer!"

George turned and glared at Chloe with cold fury. "Miss Jenkins, watch your tongue! Any guest welcomed through our doors is an honored VIP! If you speak another disrespectful word, I will revoke your family's membership immediately!"

Chloe gasped, taking a frightened step back.

Ethan spoke in a calm voice. "No need for the Imperial Suite. Miss Hayes and Miss Jenkins are going to the martial arena to meet Richard Vance. Take us there."

George bowed with total obedience. "Right away, sir!"

On the third floor of the Apex Club, the private martial arena was buzzing with noise.

A fighting cage occupied the center of the hall. Around the ring sat dozens of wealthy young heirs from Riverdale's elite, sipping vintage champagne.

In the center of the lounge sat Richard Vance.

His injured knee was wrapped in thick white bandages, resting on a velvet footstool. He held a glass of whiskey, laughing with the other heirs.

"Claire Hayes will have no choice but to surrender to me," Richard bragged arrogantly. "Old Master Hayes is dead, and Claire will come crawling to my bed on her knees!"

"Is that so, Richard?"

A cold voice cut through the laughter.

Richard looked toward the door, his eyes lighting up as Claire and Chloe walked into the room.

"Claire!" Richard beamed. "You came! I knew you would realize that I am the only man who can save your company!"

Then, Richard looked past Claire's shoulder.

His smile vanished instantly.

Walking into the lounge, holding a battered wooden toolbox and wearing dirty sneakers, was Ethan Cole.

Richard's face twisted in savage fury.

"You?!" Richard roared, slamming his fist onto the chair. "How did you get into the Apex Club?! Who let this filthy dog into my private party?!"

The other heirs burst into mocking laughter.

"Who is this clown?!"

"Look at that dirty wooden box!"

Chloe stepped forward, pointing at Ethan with a smirk. "Richard, this beggar forced Claire to sign marriage papers! He claims he is a doctor, but he is just a penniless leech!"

"Married?!" Richard's eyes burned with rage. "You dirty mountain rat! You broke my knee, and now you show up here to steal my woman?!"

Ethan walked forward casually, setting his wooden toolbox onto an empty table.

"Richard Vance," Ethan said in a chilling tone. "Your leg seems to heal fast. Do you want me to break the other one?"

"You arrogant trash!" Richard screamed.

He turned toward the fighting ring, waving his hand at two massive muscular fighters inside the cage. They were heavyweight champions on Richard's payroll.

"Brutus! Goliath! Get out here!" Richard bellowed. "Drag this beggar into the ring! Break both of his arms and throw his bloody body into the street!"

"Yes, Young Master!"

The two giants leaped over the ropes, stalking toward Ethan with murderous grins.

"Ethan, run!" Claire shouted in panic, knowing how brutal these fighters were.

Ethan did not move an inch.

The first giant, Brutus, lunged forward with a roar, his massive fist tearing through the air toward Ethan's temple!

Ethan did not even blink. He simply raised his right hand.

Pop.

With two slender fingers, Ethan caught the giant's fist mid-air.

The massive blow stopped instantly, as if hitting a steel wall.

Brutus's eyes went wide with shock. He pulled with all his strength, but Ethan's two fingers did not budge.

"Too weak," Ethan whispered coldly.

With a slight flick of Ethan's wrist, a sickening sound echoed through the room.

CRACK!

"AAARGH!"

Brutus's entire wrist snapped backward like a dry twig. Ethan kicked the giant's knee, sending the three-hundred-pound champion crashing to the floor, howling in agony.

The entire lounge froze in sheer terror.

Richard's jaw hung open, his face turning pale.

Before anyone could breathe, the double doors of the arena were kicked wide open.

Manager George Shaw rushed in, followed by twenty armed security guards in full tactical gear.

Richard exhaled in relief, pointing at Ethan. "Manager Shaw! Perfect timing! This beggar broke my fighter's arm! Shoot him right now!"

Manager Shaw marched straight up to Richard Vance.

Without a single word of warning, George raised his arm and slapped Richard across the face with all his strength!

SMACK!

Richard was knocked clean out of his chair, spilling his whiskey onto the floor. A bloody tooth flew from his mouth.

"Shut your filthy mouth, Richard Vance!" George roared, his voice shaking the entire arena. "You dare order our security against our Supreme Sovereign?!"

The entire hall fell into dead, suffocating silence.

Claire covered her mouth with both hands, her hazel eyes wide with pure shock.

Chloe froze in terror, trembling from head to toe.

Richard lay on the floor holding his swelling cheek, spitting blood, staring up at Manager Shaw in complete disbelief.

"Manager Shaw... what are you talking about?!" Richard choked out. "He is just a beggar from the mountains!"

George Shaw ignored Richard completely. He turned toward Ethan, dropped directly onto both knees before Ethan's dusty sneakers, and pressed his forehead against the cold floor.

"Riverdale Apex Club bows before the Sovereign!" George said in a trembling voice. "This servant was late to protect your honor. Please, Master, grant your punishment!"
