On their wedding anniversary, his wife bought her first love a Lamborghini and got him a used pair of shoes, but yet he stayed... until he couldn't!

Ethan Vale sat in front of his computer at the office working his ass off, he had not gotten a good night's rest in a week because the final presentation of their Company's first major project to potential investors was around the corner.
Ethan Vale Co-founded Valetech with his girlfriend, Clara Kent nearly two years ago, and they got married a few months later. In that time they had successfully invented some AI powered tools and devices which were excelling in the market, but the Nexus Home OS was their star project.
In the last eight months, Ethan and his team had fully built the core system, made multiple installations of the software, and even recorded live performance data. This project was his life's dream and all that remained was a mass deployment globally, but to do that, he needed investors.
These past few days, he had been working tirelessly to perfect the prototype for the presentation, but even with his tight schedule, he didn't forget that today was their first wedding anniversary.
Ethan leaned back on the chair and picked up his phone to confirm the reservation he had made for tonight.
Although he had booked the most expensive restaurant in York town for their wedding anniversary, he hadn't told Clara about it yet, he hoped to surprise her.
Right after confirming the reservation on I*******m, he was about to go offline when he saw a post from Damian Lillard, his wife's first love and their Company's sales representative.
It was a brand new Lamborghini Gallardo. Damian had posted it with the caption: “A special gift from my lovely boss to celebrate my win as employee of the month. I have also just been promoted to general manager of Valetech company.”
Ethan froze, he clenched his fist in anger.
Although disappointed, Ethan was not surprised by this. Ever since Damian joined the company six months ago, he had been winning employee of the month every month.
It didn't make sense, how does the laziest employee in the company get rewarded for doing nothing? Damian wasn't even qualified for the job of sales representative, let alone General Manager.
Why does his wife keep rewarding that good for nothing fella? Could it be that something was going on between them?
Ethan was the CEO of this company, but it felt like he had no say because he wasn't even made aware of these decisions, his wife always acted without informing him and it all started since her first love reappeared in her life.
Clara had always had a crush on Damian but he never paid any attention to her, not until their company started making news, thanks to all of Ethan's inventions.
Each time Ethan tried to warn Clara that Damian was only taking advantage of her, she would scold him and accuse him of being jealous and insecure. At this point, Ethan didn't bother talking about it anymore.
As he was staring at the phone screen, the door was pushed open and his wife barged in.
“Ethan, what are you doing whiling away on your phone? Why are you slacking off?”
“I am tired, I just needed a rest.” he said bluntly.
Clara scoffed. “Is this the time to rest? The presentation is in a few days and you are not even done with the final touches, stop being lazy, put away your phone and get back to work!” She demanded with a frown.
“I am going as fast as I can, this is coding, it's not carpentry or painting.” Ethan explained, dropping the phone.
“Well work faster!” she retorted. “I don't need to remind you of the importance of the next presentation, we need to secure at least one hundred million dollars total from investors.”
Ethan sighed, he couldn't believe it. He was the lead developer in this company and he has had so many sleepless nights making this place a success. There were times when Clara worried they would fail and since he couldn't stand seeing her in tears, he worked round the clock to ensure their success.
But in the end, what did he gain? All of his efforts were turned into a check for her first love’s Lamborghini.
He was pissed, but his pretty wife didn't seem to notice his mood.
Clara was a beautiful lady, she had fair skin and cute curves. Many men had tried to get her attention in recent months, but it wasn't that way years ago.
Before she met Ethan two years ago, she was a nobody. Both of them had come from poor families, and they had started from scratch to get to where they were today.
“Anyway, I got something for you.” She said and tossed a package on his office desk.
Ethan opened the package only to find a used pair of shoes.
“That will look good on you,” Clara said.
Ethan frowned and then laughed coldly, he tossed the shoes back on the table and turned back to his computer.
Seeing that he didn't react with the excitement he used to, Clara snapped. “Excuse me? What's the meaning of that? Aren't you the one who complained that I never get you gifts, now I go out of my way to get you this nice pair of shoes and you just toss it like that?”
Ethan scoffed. “Are you serious, Clara? This is a used pair of shoes. Why would you give me a worn out old pair of shoes?” He retorted.
“Hey! You are so ungrateful, this is why I never go through the trouble. These shoes are still fine, what's wrong with them?” She fired.
Ethan didn't bother responding as he knew they would only argue until he apologized and accepted to be wrong. She always liked to make him look like he was the problem in their relationship.
Clara was about to continue blowing hot on him when her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and smiled.
“Hey,” she said softly, walking to the window and away from his table.
Ethan couldn't make out what they were saying, she was covering the mic to ensure that.
After the call ended, she started texting and giggling. Whoever she was speaking to must have made a good impression on her.
Ethan didn't want to jump to conclusions again, he knew how that ends. She would deny and punish him for it until he apologized.
Clara returned to the desk with a small scoff, she picked up the package.
“You don't like it, huh? Fine, I will have it changed! I hope you are happy now. You are so fussy like a woman, you have got no masculine charm. Such a boring man,” she scoffed at him before walking away, making sure to slam the door as she left.
Ethan Vale sighed. He really hoped this anniversary will help bring them back closer together but it just got worse everyday.
He couldn't take it anymore. He decided to call Damian Lillard and warn him to stay away from his wife

The King of War
There was a knock on Ethan’s apartment in the evening.Ethan, who had been reviewing regional logistics reports in his study, calmly walked down the staircase to answer it himself. He turned the polished brass handle and swung the door open, only to find three familiar figures standing beneath the porch lights. It was Kara and her parents.Kara stood in the center, her eyes red-rimmed and brimming with tears, her hands trembling as she clutched a small medical file against her chest. Flanking her were her mother and father, both vibrating with an absolute, unbridled fury that distorted their features. Before Ethan could even utter a word of greeting, Kara’s father took an aggressive step forward, shoving a finger directly toward Ethan’s chest. “You absolute monster! You thought you could just play your little games with our family and walk away unscathed?”Ethan remained perfectly still, his eyes shifting calmly to Kara. “Kara? What is th
Master Vance
Mary Jane’s father paced the linoleum floor, his hands wringing together so tightly his knuckles turned white. “You have to do it, Mary! You have to go to him and beg for his forgiveness, accept to marry him! There is no other way out of this nightmare!”“Father, no! I already told you, I would rather die!” Mary Jane cried out. “He is a repulsive, predatory monster! How can you stand there and ask me to hand my entire life over to a tyrant like Master Vance?”“Because if you don’t, we are going to lose absolutely everything!” her mother wept, clutching a damp handkerchief to her face as she stepped toward her daughter. “Mary, look around you! The thugs are going to return with more men. They will burn this roof right over our heads! Your father and I are too old to sleep in the dirt. Master Vance offered to erase every single cent of our debt the moment you sign the marriage contract. It’s a sacrifice, yes, but it’s a sacrifice that saves your family!”“A

The dirt-packed paths of the village market were bustling with the mid-morning rush, a chaotic maze of wooden stalls, colorful awnings, and the sharp aromas of fresh produce, dried spices, and livestock.Ethan walked a step behind Mary Jane, his hands casually slid into his trouser pockets. To the casual observer, he looked like an ordinary visitor; he had left his luxury SUV parked back at the farmhouse and accompanied her on foot, wearing a simple button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. But beneath his relaxed posture, his razor-sharp senses were fully engaged. As they moved past the crowded stalls, the shift in the atmosphere was instantaneous. The lively bartering died down, replaced by a toxic, heavy wave of stage-whispers and pointed glares.“Look, there she is. The shameless one,” a woman at a fabric stall muttered, nudging her neighbor.“Back from the city after getting caught, and now she’s dragging some new man around
Mary Jane
The rolling green hills of the York Town countryside were bathed in the soft, muted gold of a late afternoon sun, but the scenic tranquility did nothing to ease the quiet weight settling in Ethan Vale’s chest. He pulled his black SUV to a stop along a narrow, dirt-hemmed driveway leading to a modest, slightly weathered farmhouse. He had made a solemn promise to Sabrina, and the King of War never broke his word.Stepping out of the vehicle, he walked toward the porch, his eyes taking in the peeling white paint of the railing and the old rocking chair resting in the shade. Before he could even knock, the door creaked open.A young woman stepped out, carrying a woven basket of laundry. The moment her eyes locked onto his figure, the basket slipped from her hands, tumbling to the wooden deck.“M-Mr. Vale?”Ethan froze, a sharp pang of guilt twisting in his gut. It was Mary Jane, his former personal assistant. But she was a shadow of
Nico Seaman, you are fired!!
The reflective glass doors of Seaman Technologies didn't offer Nico Seaman the same sense of absolute domain they usually did when he stormed through them. Although his new plan of tarnishing Vale Corp’s image seems to be working, it had cost the Seaman Group a ton of money, and the sting of losing the initial two hundred and forty million dollars was still vibrating through his veins like an electrical current. He didn't bother greeting his assistant as he marched straight toward the main executive conference room, ready to summon his financial analysts and demand a full audit on the state commercial banking clauses. But the moment he threw the double doors open, he stopped dead in his tracks. The room wasn't empty. Sitting at the head of the long obsidian table was his brother, Dave Seaman. Surrounding him were five of the most powerful, stone-faced senior board executives and institutional shareholders of the corporation. The atmosphere in the room was
Lawsuits
The morning sun barely touched the glass facade of Vale Corporation’s tower when Ethan strode into the building. He had been taking the operational side of the company very seriously these days, fully intending to keep his word of completely overtaking Seaman Group of Companies with little or no reliance on his hidden, lethal King Of War alter ego.Arriving at the executive suite, Mario Kart stood pale as a ghost by the door, clutching a digital tablet with trembling hands.“Ethan, we have a massive problem,” she whispered, her voice tight with panic.Ethan frowned, unbuttoning and taking off his suit coat. “Of course we do, Mario. Don't we always? What kind of problem are we facing so early in the morning?”Mario swallowed hard, her knuckles turning white around the device. “Not just one. Dozens, I am afraid.” She held out the tablet toward him. “Thirty-two separate lawsuits were filed against our various subsidiaries and acquisition ass
