Chapter 6

"Babe, why you left?" Gaberial stared at Sara, who looked upset.

"Gabby, What if we lose?" Her lips trembled.

"Hey…" He held her hand, "We still don't know the result."

His eyes looked at her in perseverance, and she could only sigh with a dejected heart, "I'm scared."

He understood her struggle and hugged her, "Just be positive. The announcement still needs to be made to know if we won or lost." 

She shut her eyes and took a deep breath before staring at him and nodding in understanding. They were left with no choice anyway. 

"Let's go now; we need to see the result announcement." 

"I want to rest. You go and check." She asserted.

He knew he couldn't make her force, so he nodded, "Alright."

He returned to the living area alone, and when they watched him coming without their daughter, they smirked with mocked expressions, exchanging glances within them.

Soon, the leading news started to show, for which Gil's Family and Gaberial were waiting. 

"Good Morning, I'm Joye from XX News Network. Our top news for this morning comes from The Top Xing Corporation, who just launched the new branch in our city a few months ago, and last night, they represented their first bidding for their biggest project."

"From internal information, many big and wealthy, including international level companies, participate in this bidding."

"As per the Xing company schedule, we will soon get the winner's company name in our hands; till then, you watch some local news till we are back with further details."

This is Joye From News Network, signing off. 

Jose frowned and threw the remote over the couch, "Damn, I can't wait."

"We can't do anything. We need to wait." Jose Gil asserted, staring at his son and wife.

On the other side, Gaberial looked at his wristwatch with doubt. As per his plan, this is the right time for Xing company to make an announcement. But he calmly waits as this will be his first victory and defence against Gil's family. 

Half an hour later, the news related to Xing Corporation went live again. 

"Hello, This is Joye from News Network. As we stated in our last story, Xing Corporation will soon announce the winner's name. So, the time now came. The Xing Corporation's CEO, Mr. Lopez's Secretary, Mr. Fill Carter, as his representative, is now live and ready to announce THE WINNER." 

"Damn, It's finally here!" Jose's voice got eager. 

Gaberial calmly stared at Gil Couple from the corner of his eye to see their reaction to hearing Lopez's surname, but as he assumed, he saw them not caring at all about it. 

There are thousands of people with the same surname. They can't doubt or think the Xing company belong to him or is related to their poor son-in-law.

The next moment, The Secretary came to live in the news, and Gaberial's eyes returned to it. 

On the other hand, the tension started surrounding Gil's family while their focus landed on the man on the TV.

The Secretary started talking.

"Hello, Everyone." 

"First of all, I would like to thank every bidder who participated in last night's bidding on behalf of Xing Corporation." 

"We know, all bidders waiting so patiently just for the winner's announcement."

"However, I regretfully came in front of you to inform you that we've experienced a delay in the announcement for some reason of internal analysis. I hope you understand and are patient with us."

"We're working on it, and I'll be sure to update you as soon as I have an update. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."

The Secretary bowed in sorry, and news came to an end. 

Jose, who couldn't control his anger, threw the remote, this time over the TV, but it was missed. 

"What the hell! Why can't they just announce the winner? What problem they were solving for this long?" He shouted with fury.

On the other hand, Mr. and Mrs. Gil felt this little wait was too much for them and their company. They knew they couldn't have the project after what their daughter bid. However, they can at least obtain a divorce from their disguised son-in-law and marry their daughter into a wealthy family for their own company benefits.

Gaberial, whose eyes were fixated on TV constantly, His nose crinkled, and his brows arched in frown with all this never-ending wait. 

'Why the hell did Fil not announce the winner, even after I had already explained all my plans?' 

He started thinking when suddenly Jose approached him and started arguing. 

"This is all happening because of you damn shit!" He used his finger to point over Gaberrial's chest, "You and Sara were the reason; we now need to watch our failure in front of the whole world." He stammered.

"You Asshole should never try to poke your nose inside our business in the first place."

Gabriel's eyes darkened to his words. In the past, he let him abuse and insult him. But no more, he clenched his hands into fists, and an icing voice responded, "The result is still not here."

"Oh yeah! So, do you think you can win this bid? After all this messy shit. Hell No!" Jose held his collar and pushed him harder. 

Mr. and Mrs. Gil stared coldly at Gaberial and did not stop their son. They don't think their son, anyway, was wrong. 

"Now, be prepared to divorce my sister as you deal," Jose smirked arrogantly. 

"He is telling the truth. You are the reason for all this mess. Now be ready to file a divorce because I already got someone who is 100% right for being Gil's family son-in-law." Mrs Gil's words are just like fuel for Gaberial.

"What do you mean?" He could not help but coldly question the man.

"The Harris Corporation's one and only son, David Harris. He will be Sara's husband." She proudly mentioned.

When Gaberial heard this name, he remembered seeing him over the news and at family and business parties. 

He knew that man had something with Gil, but he never thought he was interested in his wife, and that's why Gil so eagerly wanted to divorce him. 

"What are you feeling jealous of the successful man?" Jose interrupted with a loud laugh.

Gaberial wanted to punch Jose, but he tried to control his anger. He can't lose his plan over his rage.

"Mother-in-law. Now, as you have already found the man for Sara. How about making another bet?" 

"What?" Mrs Gil frowned.

Jose smirked, feeling Gaberial losing his mind, fearing that he would lose Gil and his sister's support.

"What deal you can make, Asshole?" 

"You are already losing? Can't you see that?" Jose smirked mockingly. 

Gaberial sharply glared at Jose and angrily asserted, "You first need to listen for that…"

"Say it. Anyway, you need to leave my daughter." Mrs Gil snorted.

He glanced at her and coldly spoke, "Mother-in-law and Father-in-law…" He looked in both directions before continuing, "If I won this bid tonight, My unborn child would become the sole heir of Gil's family and inherit all of the family's properties."

"You Batard! It will never going to happen!" Jose greeted his teeth. "How you filthy could even think to so high yourself or your filthy child!" 

"Why? Are you scared?" Gaberial mocked.

Jose's corner lips raised with annoyance and anger, "Do you want me to kick your Ass? Huh?"

"How about we check that?" Gaberial felt a burning around his chest to listen to his arrogant and rude behaviour toward his unborn baby.

"You Bastard!" Jose sneered. 

However, they could talk back more. Gaberial's Father-in-law, sitting with a solemn look all the time, interrupted in mid and asked Gaberial, "What if you lost?" 

Hearing him, Gaberial stared in his direction with the same seriousness, "If I lost this bid, Sara would happily marry Mr Harris, the person you choose for her, and I should be the best man for their wedding. I'll hand over her happily and will disappear from her life forever." 

"I hope this is enough to make a bet for you all." 

Gil's Couple stared at each other. They knew this bet would only benefit them. However, their son, Jack Gil, does not think the same. He angrily gazed at him. 

He could not help but think about his property. 

"I can't accept this bet." He raised his voice. 

However, Jack Gil, thinking only about his profit, felt this was the right choice. Anyway, there was no possibility, as per their calculation, for the win. But if they agree with Gaberail's bet, they can peacefully get Sara ready for the second wedding and shake hands with Harris Industry. It will strengthen their position in the market, and they can come out from their most significant loss quickly.

After thinking all that, Jack Gil happily nodded, "Alright, I agree with your words. Let's deal. If you win this bid, let Gil's business's biggest problem be solved. Sara's baby will hold inheritance."

"Dad!" 

"You can just do that!" Jose shouted.

"Honey, we need to talk." Mrs Gil wanted to speak to her husband before making the decision. 

"That's enough. I already made the choice." Jack Gil did not hear both mother and Son.

"Gaberial, I hope you will not return from your words." He sternly stared at him.

"Not at all, Father-in-law." Gaberial lightly smiled with a nod.

Mrs Gil and Jose stared at each other and felt somehow annoyed to see how Jack Gil did not even take the time to think rightly before giving his words. They knew Gaberial would never win even in his dream; still, It's a property thing.
