Chapter 5

"Gaberial, when you back?" Sara turned and was stunned to notice him standing at the balcony door. 

He saw her surprised expression and felt how lucky he was to have a kind wife like her. He strode towards her and wrapped his arms around her back to give her an intimate hug, "I'm sorry." He sighed deeply. 

She blinked and stared at him with confusion, "For what are you apologising to me?"

He breathed deeply and rested his head on her neck, "I heard everything, Sara. I heard it." 

"What?" Her eyes enlarged. She nibbled her lips lightly in sadness.

"I'm sorry, love, you need to go through all those rude words from your family just because of me." 

Her eyes got tears, "It's not your fault, Gabby." Her hands wrapped around him tightly.

"Thank you for giving my life's best gift. Thank you for carrying this baby and fighting for it."

"Gabby, this is our baby." She frowned.

"I know, my love." He kissed her neck, released her from his arms to look into her eyes, and smiled warmly, "I promise you will not suffer anymore and…." He touched her belly to get a blush from her.

"Our baby gets all the happiness which he deserves." His words made Sara smile, and she raised her feet to kiss Gaberial quickly and respond, "I know. You are going to be the best father for our child."

"And you are going to be the best mother for sure." He kissed her back. 

"As you give me a good news. I got a small good news for you as well." He happily asserted.

"What? The good news?" Sara looked at him curiously.

"I found a job, Sara, and they also paid me some advance money." He announced happily.

While Sara could not help but smile wildly with a surprised look at his face, "What?" Her hands raised and pressed against her mouth in awe.

"Yes, love. You heard right, I got a job, and the company is good."

"Oh, Gabby!" This time, she hugged him eagerly, "This is great news. You don't know how much I'm happy right now." She laughed while he warmly smiled and rested his chin over her head, "I know." "I know how long you waited for this day with me. And see our baby come with a lucky charm. As he entered our life, we started to get good news." 

"Yes, you are right," Saara exclaimed in happiness. 

"So, how is the job, and what is the company's name?" 

Hearing her question, he awkwardly lied, "It's a small position job, but the salary is good for starting and for the company. It's a new company, and they told me to start work from tomorrow." 

"I'm so happy, Gabby." Sara got emotional and got tears in her eyes. 

However, when he noticed that, he wiped her tears and said, "You can't cry any longer, love. Our baby will be upset to see that." 

His words made her smile, and they both chuckled together. 

The next day, Gabriel goes out to work and meets Carlos to get more knowledge about his work; he also plans how to entrap Gil. 

Gil was also informed by Sara about his job, and they all felt angry and annoyed. They try to disturb them daily with phone calls, but Sara avoids them, while Gbaerial doesn't even budge to hear their bullshit. 

A week passed, and Xing Company's Contract arrival day came. 

"Sara, There going to be bidding tonight for the Xing Company contract. Why don't you go and try?" Gabriel's words made Sara frown at the breakfast table, and she instantly denied saying, "Because I don't care about it. If Mom-Dad decides to give everything to Jose, let them do that. I'm happy with my life."

Gabriel sighed deep inside his heart as he thought about helping her to get the CEO's Family position. This way, he can get his fortune back from their hands. 

"Sara, it's not about only position. As an elder daughter, it's your right. Most importantly, this contract can help your father. Are they not in a mess right now?" 

"Gabby, I know, you are right. But I left that business after our marriage, and now I can't help anyway. For contract bidding, I need details about the contract and have the money power. Do you think, from where I'll get that?" 

Gaberial smiled at her words, "It's a short issue in my eyes, Sara. We can arrange money. It's not like we need to pay all money in one go."

Sara frowned, "Gabby, you just started working for a week. You don't know how bidding works. We need huge money, it's impossible. I don't think we will pass this contract anyway. Many more talented people will easily bid the big amount and get the contract." 

All her words were accurate. For bidding, she needs something inside her pocket and the right mind to know if she gets the contract in loss or profit.

When he read her mind concern, he realised to share his job's new details with Sara.

"Sara, I learned about bidding through my boss in these few days, and I also joined that management as an assistant. I can give you a few bidding-related lessons."

She blinked in amazement, "I never knew your small work was related to this department."

Gabberial smirked lightly, "I also never thought. But the company boss trusts me to get there."

"If you are couch, then I'm ready to learn. I always knew you have a smart mind to learn things faster. However, Can I get enough knowledge in just one night?" Her eyes get serious, "There is lots of details and subject, and it just takes a day to cover up everything."

However, he casually smiled to assure her, "Yes. You can. I'll help you to do that. I have already learned about this Xing Contract thing in advance for you."

"What? When?" Her eyes widened. She always saw him busy in the office thing.

He chuckled at her reaction and explained, "In the night, when you were sleeping with baby." He touched her belly.

She gently smiled at his words, "Then I guess I need to trust you and those details." 

"Thank you for trusting me, my lady." He winked, and she laughed.

The next evening, they get ready in a suit and dress; they go to the Xing bidding event, where many big company owners, reporters and people have already taken place for this big contract event.

After they reach there, one of the staff comes and helps them to get in their seat. Sara earned her name on the list from the Gil Corporation side. 

Gaberial looked around and noticed one of his men on the stage. He gave him a slight nod in signal and returned the same. 

He sensed his wife's hand wrapped around his arm in a tremble between their secret interactions.

"Gabby." He looked in her direction, "Yes, Honey."

"Do you think? I can do that?" Sara nervously asked to see the crowd from the robust background.

He held her hand in assured, "Trust me, Sara. You can do that." 

"But…." She wanted to speak, but he hussh her, pressing his index finger on her lips.

"Love, I want to share one important detail with you." 

"What details?" She meets his eyes.

"The company I'm working for is not anyone but the Xing Corporation."

"What? Xing Corporation?" Her eyes enlarged, and her mouth opened in half. 

"Yes, I'm sorry not to tell you in advance. But I got some inner details, and I'm sure. You can win this contract. If you followed my words. I know the inner details. Do you get it?" His eyes determination made her nod lightly, "O-Okay, I got it." 

Getting mixed feelings about all this, she removed his finger from her lips, and soon, the next moment, the audience clapped when an anchor came on the stage and welcomed everybody who was going to participate in this bid.

"Good evening to all our participants and owners from the most respected companies. Today, we are here for Xing Corporation. Their main firm belongs to China, and now they are trying to develop their company in California. Hope today we will get some great bidding for this big contract and a good partnership." 

"So, let's start with the first details of how participants bid their money to get this contract. As you all know, this company was from a different country. They have come up with a different plan for bidding tonight." 

Gaberial watched over Sara; she looked nervous about these sudden changes in the bid. Without knowing, the rule was changed by her own husband for being her favour. The Xing Corporation's actual owner, Gaberial Lopez. 

Carlos registered some companies in his name as he instructed, and Xing company was one of them; he knew that only after calling Carlos last night.

"So, the new instructions are…." The anchor started explaining the rules.

"You had to write the amount you want to bid to get the contract. Once you finish that, just put it into the small glass bowl before you." 

"Isn't easy?" Achor smiled, but all the participants and others started mumbling at each other. 

Sara face frowned and said, "Gabby, now what should I do? It's not a way we bid back?" 

Gaberial lightly smiled, "It's alright, babe. Now just right the amount which I'm going to tell you. Once they announced to bid."

"But…" Sara bit her lower lips in annoyance.

"Trust me, babe. I know they will not go further than that amount. The Xing Corporation's owner only wants to test participants to see if they know the real value of the contract or not. If you write a high amount, they will take you as rich dumb who doesn't care about loss. And if you write less, they will take you as stingy who just want to save money."

Her brows twisted together to hear, "Then what should we do?" 

"You know what you need to do. Just write a minimal amount. Last night, I pointed out that the contract was valued at most 30 million. Just write 27 million which don't cross high or low and accurate for any company to take over in right hand." 

"Are you sure, Gabby? What if we don't win?" Sara's lashes trembled, but he squeezed her hand and spoke, "Sara, just do it, Babe." 

She saw his determined eyes and sighed before just nodding.

"Alright, everyone, as you now know all the contract pros and cons details." 

"We will now start biding. So, write your best amount and fold it inside the small bowl. Our men will go to every table and get the bowl." 

"Thank you." 

"Write, Sara." Gaberial gave her paper while he saw her hand trembling momentarily before she took a deep breath and wrote the amount.

Once she folded the paper and put it into the bowl, one man came and took it.

"Thank you, babe." Gaberial kissed her hand, and she gave a small smile in return. 

After everyone did the same, the bowl went to the anchor. 

Anchor back to the stage, "Thank you for all bidding. But because our rules were different. The winner will not be announced today as Xing owners need time to think rightly before choosing the right one for their contact. So, for tonight, the bidding ends here. For Important Notice - You must follow the news at 8 a.m. to see the winner's name announcement. The company will announce the winner by themselves in the news. Now you all can enjoy dinner peacefully. Thank you for coming tonight."

He bowed and left. Everyone clapped. 

"So, we need to wait till tomorrow for the result?" Sara sighed as she pressed her fingers against her forehead.

"Don't worry, Love. Everything will go right." Gbaerial smiled, which made her shake her head in annoyance, "I hope. Or we will be killed by my parents."

"Don't worry about it." He winked, "Now, let's go. You should be hungry." She took his hand, and they both left their seat. 

After dinner, Sara got a call from her family once they got back home. Gabriel told her to take the call on loudspeaker, so she did.

"Hello, Mom." 

"How dare you participate in today's bidding without informing us." Her mother shouted in anger. 

"Mom, I'm just doing as you want," Sara answered. 

"Oh really? By your own? Jose went there and saw you and your silly husband there. Or else I don't think you are going to inform us." She mocked her. 

"Mom, It's not like that." She tried to explain, but her mother did not listen and asked, "I don't want to hear anything. Just tell me, how much amount you bid?" 

"27 million." 

"What? Are you crazy, Sara?" Elisa boiled with anger, "How could you bid this less? What the hell did you calculate?" 

"You should at least bid 50 million to get that contract!" 

"What made you think you can win the contract with this much less value? How could you be so dumb every single time to make a choice?"

"Mom…." Sara felt hurt, and Gaberial saw that with deep regret to let her pick up the phone.

"First, you married that son of bitch who's value not more than a beggar and made Gil's family's name laugh on relative. And now you mess up our business by choosing this low bid." Elisa's voice gets harsher. 

"Remember this, Sara, if we lose this bid. You got no choice left but to divorce that beggar husband of yours! I don't know how you could bid this less?" 

Sara's eyes filled with tears, and when he saw that, he grabbed the phone from her hand and answered his mother-in-law with deep anger, "It's me. I suggest her to bid that money." 

"So, you Shit was the reason behind her crazy decision." Elisa could not help but feel disposed to listen to him. 

Gaberial sneered angrily, "Yes and if you feel so sore about it. How about making a bet?"

"Gabby?" Sara held his arm in concern.

While hearing him talking so confidently, Elisa mocked, "So, now you think you can bet with us?"

"Yes"

Elisa turned on the speaker and laughed, "Did you all hear? Now, this bastard wanted to make a bet." 

Jose chuckled, "He thinks he turned boss to get a small job."

Jack Gil frowned on the other side, "What can that loser bet on now?" 

He heard them laughing; he coldly smirked and responded from the other side, "I got the best bet for all of you. If Sara wins the bid, make her the CEO and never mention divorce again, but I would leave her if she loses the bid. As your wish."

"You can't do that, Gabby." Sara frowned while her family laughed, "Wow, you made the right bet, I must say. We will take this bet." Jose responds with a laugh. 

Gabriel shut his eyes and took a deep breath before finally responding, "Alright, Let's meet tomorrow in my house."

"Sure." Jose disconnected the call.

Sara angrily asked, "Why did you do that?"

He stared at her and smiled, "Don't worry. We are not going to divorce."

She sighed and hugged him, "I hope we will win." 

He kissed her head and answered, "We will."

The following day, Gil's family came home before time and sat on the small couch, which was placed in a small living area.

"Welcome home, everyone." Gabriel and Sara welcome them. But they all gave Gaberial a dirty look. While Jose smirked and mocked, "Welcome your Ass! Now, you should be ready to pack your things and leave this house soon."

"My son is right." Elisa evilly laughed, and Jack Gil behind her nodded in unison as he added, "Gaberial, you must sign the divorce paper once the winner is announced." 

"I'll do that, Ma'am. If I failed." Gabriel calmly answered them without any fuse, making them smile arrogantly. 

While he deep inside wanted to laugh at all of them and wait for their ashes faces once he won the bid. That will be his second chance to play his next plan on them. 

However, Sara, who didn't know about anything, walked back to her room in frustration and anger.

When he watched that, he followed her behind.
