"Yes sure you can, it's yours you can do whatever you want with it" Richard said.
Richard then signaled Sam, as he went out then shortly he returned with a machine, kind of a smaller version of an ATM machine. He then placed it at the table.
"You can test it now Marcus, you can withdraw any amount you can think of" Richard said.
"No that wouldn't be needed, it's just for verification so I'll just check the balance"
Richard noded, Marcus picked up the card, immediately his hands sensor touched it the golden symbol beamed green, Marcus was shocked as he had never seen anything like it before, however Sam and Richard just smiled, he was really the one.
Marcus slotted the card into the machine and requested for a balance enquiry, he didn't need to input a password as it just automatically fulfilled the request.
Marcus almost threw the machine away seeing the account balance it showed, he couldn't even count the so many zeros, it was far more than any billion or trillion. The wealth of the Blackwoods was unlimited. It was really an impossible amount.
"Now that you have confirmed, you may now take your place as the heir to the family's business, Sam will help you with whatever you need" Richard said with a confident smile.
However Marcus was in a State of not knowing how to feel, whether to be happy, shocked, scared or scream. Just yesterday he lost his wife to another man because he was poor, and overnight he had become a billionaire, no a trillionaire, even more than that, as even he doesn't know what title to give himself. For so many years the world thought the Blackwoods were no more but unknown to them, Richard was secretly operating the business, this brought up a question from Marcus.
"If the Blackwoods were still functioning why'd you keep it a secret, why isn't the world hearing about it anymore?"
"It wasn't necessary, and I wasn't the real owner of the business, so it would only bring unwanted attention to my side, and our enemies are still on the loose, so I kept it low-key. But now that you are here, you can revive back the family's name"
"Okay now I understand, you are really a good person" Marcus said.
"You seem tired, Sam will take you to your room now, so you'll have some rest, then maybe we'll talk more in the evening"
Marcus replied with a nod, as Sam took him to his room, they got to an elevator which Sam swiped open with his security card, then after like twenty minutes, they finally arrived at the top, walking towards Marcus's room, as Sam opened the door. "This is your room sir"
Marcus walked in slowly, his eyes were met with the astonished beauty of the room, the room was very large, a king sized bed, a glass made wardrobe, the sparkling white tiles and the cool temperature.
"I'll leave you to rest now young master, in case you need anything, I'm just down stairs"
"Alright" Marcus replied, and so Sam left with a bow, closing the door.
Marcus moved around the room examining it properly, everything was top notch inside. He then went inside the bathroom to take a bath, entering into the bathroom felt like he was in a fantasy castle, the beauty of the room extended to the bathroom, a wall sized mirror, a golden made shower and many other expensive features.
After spending twenty to thirty minutes in the bathroom, Marcus came out with a white large towel on his waist, he opened the glass wardrobe, and so many collection of clothes, from night wears, to casual clothes to expensive suits. Marcus selected some casual wears and put them on, they were a Lois vuton brand, as casual as it is, it's worth around $19,000.
He then dived on his bed, the bed was so soft that it felt like his body would sink in it, so this is what rich people enjoy.
Marcus thought ran back to Hannah, this was the life she always wanted, if she didn't have cheated on him, by now she'll also be enjoying what he has now, he wished she hadn't left him for another guy, he wished she didn't cheat on him with multiple men in an adult film industry. But then again she didn't deserve all of this . Maybe that's why God made it happen this way.
She left him for a guy she thinks he's rich, but now he's not even up to 1% of Marcus's current status.
Marcus is now an epitome to wealth, he could get everything and anything he wanted in the world.
Remembering how Hannah slapped him in public, how her new fiance sent his bouncers to give him the beating of his life, with all these memories, Marcus was going to make them pay for every single thing, in a slow burn. He would show them what he was made of now.
Marcus thought was interrupted by a knock on the door, it was Sam.
"Come in," he said.
"Young Master, the boss wants to see you," Sam said, bowing his head slightly.
"Alright" Marcus said as he followed Sam.
Richard was still in his office, as the duo arrived. "Have a seat Marcus" he said softly.
Marcus sat, before saying "you called for me sir"
"Oh please don't call me that, you can call me by my name" Richard corrected.
"Alright sir…I mean Rich… Can I just call you Uncle Richard? I don't feel comfortable calling an elder by their names" Marcus asked.
"Anything that suits you," Richard smiles.
"Thank you Uncle Richard"
"The reason I called you Marcus, I've arranged for a small party tonight at our mansion, it's to fully welcome you as the new head of the Blackwoods Webchain, and to officially introduce you to the family's business partners, CEOs and managers" Richard started.
"Is it compulsory?" Marcus asked, not feeling much excited about it.
"Yes it is, I know you are feeling a little nervous about everything, and it seems a bit rushed. But trust me it's for the betterment of the family's business. You are no longer who you used to be Marcus. You are now the heir to the Blackwoods conglomerate, and you need to start acting like one. You are no longer the poor and helpless man you used to be but now a quadrillionaire, you are the heir to the richest family on earth. You are now a Blackwood."
Richard word filled up Marcus with courage and boldness. Just the right word he was looking for, he was now a quadrillionaire.
"Alright Uncle Richard I'll try my best" Marcus said with an assuring tone.
"Good, Sam will help you choose a perfect outfit for the party, I've ordered a customized phone for you, it'll be deliver
ed shortly, you'll have to look your best, because you are now the top one."

Chapter 173
As the sun began to rise over the city, casting a golden glow on the streets, Clara and her team stood outside the docks, their breaths still heavy from the fight. With Magnus apprehended and his henchmen scattered, the sense of victory was palpable.“Is it really over?” Mara asked, her eyes reflecting the morning light.“Feels like it,” Clara replied, a cautious smile creeping onto her face. “We’ve fought too hard for this to slip away now.”Marcus stepped forward, pulling out his phone to call the authorities. “They’ll want to take Magnus into custody. This time, he won’t be able to wriggle his way out of it.”As the police sirens wailed in the distance, a mixture of relief and anticipation washed over the group. Clara could hardly believe how far they had come since they had first banded together to confront the darkness in their city.In the following days, word spread about Magnus's defeat and the disbandment of his criminal network. The community began to breathe a sigh of relie

Together, they had become a force to be reckoned with, as they shared a collective nod, a silent agreement that they were all in this together. Marcus carefully jimmied the lock open. The door creaked as it swung inward, revealing a dimly lit corridor lined with rusted machinery and crates.“Stay quiet,” Marcus whispered, leading the way with Clara right behind him. Clara’s heart raced—this was it. They were getting closer to the action.“Let’s split up,” Marcus suggested, peeking around a corner. “Mara, you take the left side. Clara, you and Eli cover the right. We’ll converge at the main room in the center.”“Got it,” Clara replied, feeling a rush of adrenaline. .“Are we really done with Magnus?” Eli asked, stretching as he joined Clara, his face still a mix of exhaustion and disbelief.“Only for now,” Clara replied, glancing at Marcus and Mara, who were going over the plans for their next move. “But it feels good to know we stood up to him. He won’t be back anytime soon.”Marcus looked up, a thoughtful expression on his face. “We need to regroup and figure out what’s next. Magnus may be in custody, but we know he has allies. We can’t let our guard down.”Mara nodded in agreement. “And we need to find out what else he was planning. There’s got to be more to it than just controlling the city through fear.”“Right,” Clara said, her mind racing with the possibilities. “Let’s start by gathering any information we can. We need to dig deeper into his operations.”As the day unfolded, they began strategizing. Clara took charge, flipping through notes and files they had collected over time. “We need to hit his connections hard. If we can disrupt the

Eli groaned but pushed himself up, adrenaline surging through him despite the throbbing pain in his ribs. “I’m good,” he gasped, his eyes darting to the downed guard. “Let’s finish this!”“Good,” Marcus said, his breath steadying as he turned back to the entrance, where the chaos was still unfolding. “Clara, stick close to me. Eli, take the rear. We need to find a way to secure this place before Magnus decides to make an appearance.”“Right!” Clara replied, determination etched on her face. Together, they charged further into the heart of the factory, the sound of the fireworks still booming outside, providing a cacophony that masked their movements. As they navigated through the maze of machinery and crates, the atmosphere grew thicker with tension. Clara’s instincts kicked in, and she felt a sense of urgency pushing her forward. They needed to find Magnus and stop him before he could mobilize his men.“Where do you think he is?” Mara whispered, glancing around at the shadows that lo

As the group approached the factory, the moonlight cast eerie shadows over the crumbling walls. They could see the faint outline of guards patrolling the perimeter, their silhouettes shifting in the dim light. Clara felt her heart race, every instinct in her body screaming that they were heading into danger. Yet, beneath that fear was a resolute determination to confront Magnus and end this once and for all.“Okay, remember the plan,” Marcus whispered, his voice steady despite the tension. “Mara and Eli, you’ll set off the fireworks on the east side while Clara and I create a distraction on the north entrance.”“Got it,” Mara replied, glancing at Eli, who nodded in agreement. As they moved into position, Clara could feel the weight of the moment bearing down on her. She glanced at Marcus, who was scanning the area with a focused intensity. “Are you ready for this?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.“I have to be,” he replied, determination flashing in his eyes. “For everyon
