The following morning, Dean hailed a taxi outside the campus gates.
The driver, a talkative man in his late forties, glanced back through his rearview mirror as Dean settled into the back seat. Upon hearing Dean’s destination, he couldn’t hold back his curiosity. “Young man, hope you don’t mind me asking, but what brings you to the Mapleland Sales Center?” the driver asked, eyeing Dean’s faded sportswear. “That place is strictly for the ultra-rich. To be frank, you don’t exactly look like their typical crowd.” Mapleland Real Estate Sales Center was legendary throughout Sky City for its absurdly luxurious developments. The baseline price started at over seventy thousand dollars per square meter. A normal working-class person could toil for thirty years and still not afford a half-bathroom on the property. Seeing a college kid in a cheap, worn-out tracksuit heading toward the most elite real estate hub in the city left the driver really baffled. If the kid was going there to pull a stunt or look around, he was heading straight into a wall of trouble. “I’m going to look at some properties,” Dean replied calmly. He didn’t take offense at the driver’s blunt observation, recognizing the underlying, albeit skeptical, concern in the man’s voice. “Looking at properties?” The driver raised his eyebrows, his skepticism deepening. “Young man, it pays to keep your feet on the ground. Are you sure you aren’t just applying for a job there?” It wasn’t that the driver had never shuttled clients to Mapleland before, he had. But those passengers wore head-to-toe designer suits, carried luxury leather bags, and arrived in sports cars. A kid wearing ten-dollar sneakers and a faded hoodie simply didn’t fit the picture. “I’m serious, sir. I’m going there to buy a home,” Dean said, his tone firm. The driver sighed and shook his head in resignation. “Ah, kids these days... Fine, fine, I believe you. Happy?” His sarcastic expression, however, said otherwise. ‘Buy a home?’ The man thought. ‘A single bathroom there costs seven hundred thousand. The kid couldn’t buy a toilet stall if he worked three lifetimes, let alone a house.’ Before long, the taxi pulled up to the grand, marble-columned entrance of the Mapleland Sales Center. Dean handed over the fare and stepped out onto the pavement. Before pulling away, the driver rolled down his window to offer one last piece of advice. “Hey kid, just keep your head down in there. Some reckless guy tried to make a scene in there last month and got beaten within an inch of his life by security. He’s still hooked up to machines in the ICU.” With that warning, the taxi accelerated into the morning traffic. Dean watched the car vanish down the avenue, a subtle smile touching his lips. “I’ve always known my place,” he muttered to himself. “It’s just that with ten million dollars sitting in my bank account, my place isn’t at the bottom anymore.” He glanced down at his scuffed clothes and chuckled softly. “Guess I need to pick up a few designer suits soon. If I’m going to act like a nouveau riche spendthrift, I might as well dress the part.” As he turned toward the entrance, he noticed the small crowd of prospective buyers entering the grand glass doors. Every single one of them was draped in tailor-made suits, Armani coats, and expensive jewelry. Standing among them in his cheap sportswear, he looked completely out of place, like a sheep wandering into a pack of wolves. It was obvious that anyone looking at him would instantly write him off as a broke spectator. “Hey... kid? What the hell are you doing here?” a sharp voice sneered from behind him.Latest Chapter
Chapter 12
“Babe?”Dean stopped in his tracks, staring at Lori with an incredulous expression. He was totally bewildered, ‘cause under normal circumstances, Lori would barely give him the time of day. Why the sudden surge of overwhelming enthusiasm? Did she knock her head against a streetlight on her way to class? However, Dean was no fool. A single glance at Felix standing nearby with a massive bouquet and a ring box made the entire situation painfully obvious. He was being used as a human shield.Further back in the crowd, Maya’s brow furrowed tightly as her face twisted with contempt. “Dean?” she spat. “Since when did he start dating Lori?”Beside her, Mila’s expression shifted rapidly, a wave of complex anxiety washing over her.Taking in the sudden turn of events, one of Felix’s henchmen immediately stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. “Boss Felix, it looks like this broke brat hasn’t learned his lesson yet. Should we go over and break his legs?”Felix narrowed his eyes dangerously. Wat

After his lecture ended, Dean walked out of the hall and immediately noticed a massive crowd gathered in the main courtyard, buzzing with commotion. It clearly involved Lori and Felix, but with so many students jostling for a view, Dean couldn’t see what was happening in the center of the action.Scanning the area, his eyes caught Maya standing nearby, glaring at the center of the scene with a furious, bitter expression. Beside her stood Mila. The moment Dean’s gaze crossed Mila’s, he casually looked away, indifferent to whether she had already told Maya about his seven-million-dollar spending spree at Mapleland. It didn’t matter anymore. Maya was strictly in his past now, an embarrassing, foolish mistake he preferred to erase entirely.Watching Dean’s calm, detached demeanor, Mila bit her lip, debating whether to approach him. But considering they had never been friends, she had no idea how to even open a conversation.‘Should I warn him about Marcus’s brothers coming after him?’ S
Chapter 10
The next morning, as dawn broke across Sky City, Dean rose from his sleep.Today was a scheduled lecture day at Sky University. It had been nearly two weeks since he last stepped foot on campus, and he wasn’t sure if his professors would dock points from his attendance record. Although skipping class wasn’t uncommon among students, Dean found the reason for his prolonged absence, chasing after Maya Hanson, rather embarrassing in hindsight.Regardless, today felt like the true beginning of a new life. He would no longer allow himself to be walked over or humiliated by anyone. The Supreme Tycoon System was clearly about more than just spending money ‘cause with the physical gift of Absolute Dominance, it was obvious the system was paving his way to complete authority, and the thought made him excited. He had no idea why he was chosen, but he intended to use every advantage to completely rewrite his destiny.Taking his seat in the lecture hall, Dean pulled out his textbook and began re

Inside an elegant private room at the Night Owl, the air was thick with the scent of expensive perfume and foreign liquor.Several gorgeously dressed women sat across the plush leather sofas, their revealing dresses and colorful stockings striking under the flickering lights. They exuded a mature charm, throwing flirtatious glances and teasing winks toward Marcus.Sitting off to the side, Mila looked noticeably out of her depth. Dressed in her short skirt, she couldn’t compete with the worldly charm of the women who frequented the Night Owl. To them, she was just an amateur. Marcus had only pursued her because he had grown bored of the club regulars and wanted a fresh, naive distraction.Mila knew deep down she was nothing more than a temporary trophy to Marcus, which was precisely why she had always been so bitter and envious of Maya’s steady relationship with Dean.It had been so easy to manipulate Maya. All Mila had to do was flaunt the lavish gifts, high-end dinners, and lifesty

“What are you doing?! What do you think you’re doing?!” Marcus roared, his voice cracking with rage as the guards closed in. “My name is Marcus Polland! If you dare lay a finger on me, I’ll make sure you can’t survive in Sky City!”Beside him, Mila was trembling in terror. She desperately grabbed Marcus’s arm, her eyes wide with panic. “Honey... can you ask them to stop? I’m scared! These guards look vicious!”Marcus glared at the security team, a flash of genuine fear darting through his eyes. He really didn't expect the guards to actually follow through on the manager’s command.“Mr. Polland, we apologize for the inconvenience, but our hands are tied,” the head guard said neutrally, stepping into his path. “The manager gave direct orders, and we have to comply.”“No... wait! I am Marcus Polland!” he spat, backing away. “I’m a heavyweight in this city! Are you guards blind?! How dare you mess with me?! How dare you mess with a tycoon like me?!”Mila screeched, glaring back at Dean in

Everyone in the showroom was rendered completely speechless by the shocking turn of events.‘Good lord... seven million dollars. Was it really that easy to spend that much money?!’“D-Did... did it actually clear?!” The manager stood frozen, his eyes bulging as he stared at the terminal screen.A sudden chill ran down his spine, followed by a violent wave of heart palpitations. He had come terrifyingly close to kicking out a genuine multi-millionaire, and all over an arrogant, middle-aged nightclub owner like Marcus Polland.“S-Sir, please... please hold onto your card safely,” the manager stammered, his hands trembling as he reverently handed the black card back with a nervous, overly eager smile. He couldn’t care less what Dean was wearing, ‘cause looking at him now, Dean was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.Dean nodded coolly, taking the card and slipping it back into his pocket.Beside them, Mila stood frozen in total shock, her mind completely blank, while Marcus Polla
