Zade's breath caught as he examined the faded photographs of a crumpled black car at the bottom of a ravine.

"My parents died on impact," he murmured, the words tasting like ash.

"Yes," Wynn replied quietly. A tear slipped from the corner of his eye.

"The paramedics found you miraculously alive in your car seat, thrown clear of the wreckage. But before the main family security team arrived, the local rescue crew mishandled the perimeter. Amid the confusion, a rogue ambulance driver or a panicked passerby took you, and you disappeared into the night. We searched for decades, but the trail went cold."

Wynn placed a trembling hand over Zade's knuckles.

"For twenty-five years, I believed I had lost my son, my daughter-in-law, and my grandson in one terrible night. It was an awful, heartbreaking misfortune."

An unfortunate accident.

That was the official explanation the family had accepted for a quarter of a century.

Yet as Zade studied the police reports, a cold sensation crept down his neck. His instincts, sharpened by the betrayal and murder he had suffered in his previous life, warned him that something was wrong.

His eyes narrowed as he read the technical forensic summary.

Brake line fluid pressure dropped to zero instantly before the turn.

A luxury Benson-custom vehicle equipped with triple-redundant mechanical safety systems had suffered a total hydraulic failure on a routine turn.

Then, in the chaos that followed, a five-year-old child had vanished from a heavily guarded accident site before the main family security team arrived.

That wasn't an accident, Zade thought, a chill running down his spine. That was a hit.

In his first life, he had believed people were inherently good, that love conquered all, and that tragedies were sometimes nothing more than bad luck.

That naivety had cost him his daughter and left him bleeding to death in a cold hospital room while his ex-wife laughed.

He would never make that mistake again.

If someone had tampered with his father's car twenty-five years ago, the culprit was no ordinary criminal.

Someone inside or close to the Benson family might have arranged the murder of the main heirs and ensured that the surviving five-year-old boy disappeared before he could reclaim his place in the family.

Dark anger surged through Zade. Beneath the table, his hands curled into fists, his fingernails digging into his palms.

Someone murdered my parents, he realized, his heart pounding. And whoever did it might still be sitting in this very family, waiting to see what I'll do.

For a moment, he wanted to slam his hands on the table and demand a full reinvestigation. He wanted to call in federal agents and have the entire estate searched.

Instead, he took a slow breath and forced himself to suppress his rage.

No. If I raise the alarm now, whoever orchestrated their deaths will know I'm onto them. They'll cover their tracks, destroy the evidence, or worse... they might target Jemima.

The thought of anyone threatening his daughter brought a chilling calm over him. He couldn't afford to act on emotion. He had to play the long game.

"Zade?" Patriarch Wynn asked softly, noticing his silence. "Are you alright, my boy? I know reading these old reports is painful."

Zade lifted his head and composed his expression. He reached out and gently closed the velvet folder.

"It's just hard to read, Grandfather," he replied, his voice steady. "To know how close I was to having a normal life with my mother and father."

Wynn squeezed his shoulder.

"I know, Zade. But they are watching over you and little Jemima from heaven now."

"Yes," Zade murmured, gazing through the grand window at the sunlit gardens.

And I will make sure their killer joins them in the ground.

He turned back to the elders, his tone shifting to business.

"Let's put the old files away for today, Grandfather. Show me the current management structure of the subsidiary companies. If I'm going to protect this family, I need to understand who holds power in every department."

"Of course," Wynn said, visibly pleased by his grandson's resilience. "Thomas, pull up the executive board chart."

Elder Thomas tapped his tablet, displaying the corporate leadership structure. Zade memorized every face and name on the screen.

Somewhere on that chart was the person who had stolen his childhood and murdered his parents.

He leaned back in his chair, his expression calm, while an unshakable vow echoed through his mind.

I will find you, he promised his late parents. I will uncover every secret and tear down every lie. And when I find the person responsible, I will crush them completely.

The grand ballroom of the Carlton Hotel glittered like a jewel box under the weight of three thousand Czech crystal pendants. String quartet music drifted softly through the vaulted ceiling, mingling with the refined hum of high-society laughter and the expensive scent of French perfume and vintage champagne. It was the annual charity gala hosted by Lady Cynthia—a woman whose social endorsement was the ultimate currency among the city’s ultra-elite. Binta Brighton stood near the edge of the marble-pillared dais, holding a flute of champagne in a hand that trembled ever so slightly despite her best efforts to keep it steady. She wore a stunning crimson silk gown, carefully chosen to project absolute confidence and unshakeable wealth. Beside her, Mrs. Brighton adjusted her diamond choker, scanning the room with the practiced gaze of a woman desperately trying to reclaim her footing in a world that was slipping away from her. Just a few feet away, Pascal Black was locked in a

The rain had long stopped, leaving the night sky over the Benson estate clear, cold, and obsidian black. Inside Zade’s private study, the ambient lights were dimmed to a soft blue glow, cast almost entirely by the multi-screen terminal station set up in the corner. A silent knock tapped against the door frame before Edward stepped into the room. He moved with the quiet efficiency of a shadow, carrying a thick, red-stamped leather binder in his left hand. "Mr. Benson," Edward spoke, his voice crisp and low. "The forensic banking audit is complete. I have the updated intelligence dossier regarding the 1999 vehicular accident." Zade turned his executive chair away from the window, his dark eyes instantly locking onto the file. "Show me." Edward placed the heavy binder flat on the mahogany desk, opening it to a dense, color-coded flow chart mapping a series of complex international banking transactions. He tapped a key on his tablet, synchronizing the physical document with the

The soft, warm morning light filtered through the sheer curtains of the private nursery in the east wing of Benson Manor, casting gentle shadows across the minimalist, sterile-grade interior. Dr. Rena Kennedy stood beside the mobile diagnostic station, her fingers deftly sliding across the glass tablet as she reviewed baby Jemima’s morning biometric feed. The green lines of data pulsed steadily, indicating optimal cellular oxygenation, perfect heart rate variance, and a thriving weight curve. A quiet, soft coo drew her attention away from the screen. Sitting in the comfortable armchair by the window was Zade. He held Jemima cradled carefully against his shoulder, gently supporting her small head with one hand while using his free hand to adjust a soft cotton blanket around her waist. Rena watched them for a quiet moment, a subtle, appreciative smile touching her lips. "Her vital signs are

The grand boardroom at the top floor of the Benson Group corporate tower was bathed in mid-morning light. Heavy mahogany tables, gleaming under crystal chandeliers, were surrounded by the most influential figures of the conglomerate—board elders, major institutional shareholders, and senior executives whose decisions moved international markets. At the head of the long table sat Patriarch Wynn Benson. Though aged, his dark eyes burned with a sharp, vibrant clarity that hadn't been seen in years. "Members of the board," Patriarch Wynn began, his voice echoing with profound pride through the silent room. "We gathered today for the preliminary review of our third-quarter subsidiary performances. I hold in my hand the verified audit report for Dove Logistics." A quiet ripple of hushed whispers passed through the seated board elders. Just weeks ago, Dove Logistics had been universally regard

Binta looked up at him with absolute adoration, her heart swelling with gratitude. In that moment, she was completely convinced that Pascal Black was her savior—the ultimate billionaire protector who would rescue her family from ruin and elevate her into the highest tier of societal power. "You're amazing, Pascal," Binta whispered, smiling through her tears. "I don't know what I would do without you." "You'll never have to find out," Pascal replied smoothly, flashing a dazzling, charming smile. He stayed for another twenty minutes, offering gentle words of encouragement, refilling their glasses with water, and playing the role of the devoted, supportive fiancé. He stayed just long enough to calm their panic, soothe their frayed nerves, and convince them that they were entirely safe under his protective wing. Then, checking his luxury gold watch with a polite apology, Pascal claimed an urgent board meetin
