At the hospital, Joaquin went through his usual morning routine—checking on patients, reviewing charts, and making sure everything was in order. But no matter how much he tried to focus, his mind kept drifting back to what Jasmine had said at breakfast.

Serena and him? That was ridiculous.

She was his boss. His friend.

And besides, she deserved someone a hell of a lot better than him.

“Joaquin!”

Andrea’s voice rang out as soon as he entered her room.

“I’ve been waiting for you!” she huffed, crossing her arms. “I called you a dozen times after you left. What the hell did you get yourself into?”

Joaquin exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m sorry, Ms. Johnson. It’s a long story. But everything’s fine now. My sister is safe, and I’m back at work.”

Andrea pouted, her expression softening just a little. “I don’t care about that. I have time—tell me what happened. How’s Jasmine?”

Joaquin hesitated. How does she know about Jasmine?

“She’s doing better now,” he finally said, watching An

Joaquin couldn’t help but laugh when he finally saw who had ambushed them.“Sergio Black?”Sergio’s eyes burned with fury as he glared at Joaquin.“You think I’d just let that go? After you disrespected me—after you humiliated me?!”Joaquin shook his head slowly. “Why don’t you just stop, Sergio? I can’t believe people like you still exist—those who can’t accept their mistakes or their defeat.”Sergio gasped, his pride wounded. “Me? Then let’s see who’s really the loser.”He suddenly aimed his gun at Joaquin and pulled the trigger. But Joaquin didn’t even flinch—he let his aura absorb the bullet entirely.“I didn’t want to use this anymore,” Joaquin muttered, his voice calm yet edged with warning. “I really wanted to live a normal life now.”In that instant, his eyes began to glow. Flames curled from his hands, swirling like living fire.Sergio froze, stumbling a step backward.“W-What the hell?! How can you do that?!”Joaquin smirked, his tone almost pitying. “I’ll make this quick fo

“What is it, Joaquin?” Serena asked, confused as she noticed the sudden change in his expression.Joaquin stood frozen, still holding his phone. He could barely find his voice. Slowly, he lowered the device and looked straight at her.“I… I found him, Serena.”Serena frowned, unsure what he meant. “Who?”“My father,” Joaquin whispered, disbelief thick in his tone. “My real father.”Serena’s eyes widened in shock. “What? Joaquin, that’s incredible! Then let’s go—let’s go to him now!”Without wasting another second, they both hurried out of the house. Joaquin grabbed his keys, his heart hammering in his chest as they got into the car. Rick had texted him the coordinates, and he wasn’t about to lose another moment. He pressed hard on the accelerator, the engine roaring to life. Every light they passed blurred into streaks of gold as the car sped down the empty road. His father was alive. After all the lies, all the blood, all the pain — there was still a piece of his past left breathing.

After dinner, Joaquin and Serena left the restaurant hand in hand. The city lights shimmered like scattered stars, reflected on the rain-kissed pavement. It had drizzled earlier — not enough to ruin the night, just enough to make everything glow.Joaquin opened the car door for her. “Careful,” he murmured, smiling as she gathered her dress and slid in.Serena looked at him with that same tender disbelief she’d been wearing all evening. “I still can’t believe this happened.”“Well, believe it,” he teased, settling behind the wheel. “You’re stuck with me now.”She laughed softly, her fingers brushing over the ring again. It fit perfectly — as if it had always belonged there. “You really surprised me, Joaquin. I thought you were just taking me to dinner.”He grinned. “You underestimate my ability to be romantic.”“Oh, I don’t,” she countered playfully. “I just didn’t expect this level of effort. A fancy dinner, a diamond ring, and a speech that could make anyone cry?”He chuckled, starti

Joaquin arrived at the restaurant just before sunset. The sky outside was painted in gold and lavender, as if the heavens themselves were preparing for something magical. The restaurant’s glass walls glowed warmly, reflecting the soft light of dusk.He adjusted his simple black shirt, brushed off invisible dust from his pants, and took a deep breath. This is it.The maître d’ recognized him immediately. “Good evening, Sir Joaquin. Table for two, as usual?”Joaquin smiled faintly. “Yes. And make sure the roses are fresh, please.”“Of course, Sir. Everything is ready.”He walked toward their favorite table — the one by the large window overlooking the city skyline. He could still remember the first time he and Serena had dined there. She had laughed so hard that night that she nearly spilled her wine. That laugh, he thought, that’s what I want to hear for the rest of my life.He placed the small box in his pocket, his fingers brushing over it as if to reassure himself that it was still

The man burst into laughter, the kind that dripped with arrogance.“You’re not seriously going to sell that ring to him, are you?” he asked the saleslady, his tone sharp with entitlement. The poor woman froze, swallowing hard, eyes darting between the two men. She didn’t know what to do.“You don’t recognize me, do you?” the man barked, leaning closer. “You’d really rather serve him than me?!”The saleslady’s face turned pale; she clearly didn’t recognize the man, but his tone alone was enough to make her panic.Joaquin almost rolled his eyes. He’d met men like this all his life — loud, spoiled, and convinced that money made them gods.“So what if you’re someone important?” Joaquin said coolly. “I’m buying this ring, no matter who you think you are.”The man laughed — a sharp, mocking sound. “You’ve got some nerve talking to me like that. Do you have a death wish or something?”Joaquin tilted his head. “Why? Who exactly are you to talk so loud?”The man straightened his suit and puffe

After speaking with Rick, Joaquin began preparing. Today, he had a surprise planned for Serena.Even though he now had everything — power, wealth, recognition — he still chose simplicity. He wore only a plain black t-shirt and pants. Serena had once given him a one-of-a-kind wristwatch, insisting it should be his personal mark of identity. He wore it proudly. To complete his look, he put on a pair of glasses to appear more formal and slipped into polished black shoes. Simple, yet elegant — just how he liked it.When he was ready, Joaquin left the house and drove off. He refused to have a driver or a bodyguard — he could protect himself just fine. All he wanted now was a normal life, one far away from the shadows of the Villareals and everything that came with the name. While driving, he called to make a reservation at his and Serena’s favorite restaurant. Then, before heading home, he stopped by a jewelry shop — to choose the perfect gift for her.Tonight, he would finally fulfill his
