Stephanie wakes up very late the next morning, and she had such a satisfied sleep that her eyes are still shut.

She stretches like a cat, before yawning and walking to the bathroom.

She sits on the toilet bowl as she passes out urine, and only when she feels her toes against the feathery fur of the carpet does she remember that she hasn't felt it in seven years.

The sleep disappeared from her eye and she immediately touched her thighs, down to her toes.

She can feel every touch, and it's as real as her heart beating in her chest.

“Ahhh!” She jumps up, fearing that she is in some kind of fucked up dream.

She goes over to the tap and splashes water over her face. She slaps herself till her cheeks stings with pain, but each time she looks down, her legs are still working!

She runs out of the bedroom and room, and downstairs, she finds Roman talking to some of the servants.

“Roman!! Roman, I can walk!”

She doesn't wait for him to see, she jumps into his hands and wriggles her toes in his face.

His eyes are wide with happiness, his wife is whole again!

“Oh my God, Stephanie!” He kisses her face over and over again.

“What about Athena! I need to show her, she has never seen me walk before!”

“She will be back soon, don't worry. She went out with Carmen to stock up the fridge with ice cream. They will be back in an hour.”

Stephanie feels like a girl who has just won the trophy. She walks from one end of the living room to the other, while Roman watches her like a proud father.

“Well, I better surprise my girl with breakfast too! I have never had the luxury of preparing a proper meal for her or you!"

She pulls Roman to the kitchen, as she starts to break some eggs into a bowl.

As she cooks, slowly, the thoughts of last night keep coming back to her head.

Roman did so many things that surprised her. She can't believe that she married such an awesome man.

“I can't believe you never told me your rank when we met and got married.” She smirks.

“That's because you never asked, my love.”

“Right.” She says. Maybe her family would have loved him if they knew that he has so much power…. This was just too good to be true, wasn't it?

She drops the knife that she was using to chop up vegetables, and she turns to face him.

“Roman, I can walk now. We have a roof over our head, you don't have to keep up the lies.”

Roman stops too. “Lies? What lies, Stephanie?”

“The soldiers, the helicopter, the expensive cars, everything!” She points around. “I know, Roman. I know that you did all of this to get back at my family for the evil they did to me, but I will love you either way. Those soldiers you used to scare my family were your friends from the army, and you spent a lot of money to hire the helicopter and cars. This house probably belongs to your boss, and you just wanted to make Athena and I happy. It's alright, Roman. We are happy here.”

Leon feels his heart sink into his stomach as he realizes his mistake.

Stephanie spent seven years in torture by her parents and having everything turned around in just a day would be too much for her to comprehend.

He has to do it bit by bit, so as not to scare his wife too much. He will introduce her to his wealth and power little by little. That's what's best.

“Oh, Stephanie,” he sighs. “How did you even find out the truth? I was trying to make you proud. Yes, I'm just a common soldier, and this house belongs to my boss, the true

Dragon General. The good thing is that he is so rich and busy, that he has given us this house for us to use for as long as we need. The servants and the cars too…”

“My poor husband,” Stephanie pouts her lips as she stands on her toes to kiss him. “This doesn't change anything. You are my forever husband, and I am very proud of you.”

After the kiss, she goes back to chopping vegetables. “We are going to have to call my family though.”

“ What?” Roman’s face freezes. He was hoping that she now hates her family as much as he does.

“Roman, I know that they are awful, but they are still my family, and maybe they can change. You need to apologize for destroying their houses, else they will use their connection to make sure that the Dragon General takes this house away from us and send you to jail.”

“Stephanie, no.”

“Come on, please?” She begs. “I have to share the good news about me regaining my ability to walk too. Imagine how happy they will be.”

At this moment, Roman growls out his anger.

“The same family that beat you until you couldn't walk? How can you love them after what they have done to you?” Roman wonders.

He immediately stops when he sees how her eyes glisten with tears. She can't help loving her family, can she?

“That's okay, Stephanie, you can call them.” He gives in with a sigh.

She claps her hands happily and hurries into the living room. She has her mother's phone number stored in her head, and she uses the telephone to dial it.

It rings and rings, before she hears her mother's dry, mean voice.

“Hello? Mum, it's Stephanie! I know you are very worried about me, but I have a lot of news for you! Athena and I finally got a house! Roman was able to get a big mansion from his boss for us! You should come with everyone to visit us, because our house is very big, and I can also walk– can you believe that?!”

“That's great, Stephanie, did you say you have a big house now?”

“Well, yes.”

“Stephanie, your father and I have no choice but to move in with you and your husband in that house. Since he demolished our place and Finna's place is partially destroyed too, we have no other choice! Text me the address, we are coming over.”

What?!

She feels like she has been hit with a train full of surprises. She turns pale in the face too.

"Oh, Roman? No one that you should be worried about." John waves off. He takes the notepad from Kevin and cuts off the page with the writing, before asking him to put it in his pocket. "Listen, don't look all suspicious, as if you have seen a ghost. Roman is my friend, and he is the first person I want to introduce you to." The magic works. Kevin's face lights up immediately. "Who are those people?" Mrs Beerson wastes no time to ask. "They don't look like they belong here. Don't tell me that you invited them for your Uncle's burial."
