Williams walked down the street with nine million dollars in his account and only one QR point. His clothes were still dirty. His stomach hurt from hunger. He had not eaten a real meal in two days.

He stopped in front of a small clothing shop and looked at the clean shirts in the window. For a moment he wanted to buy new clothes. Then he shook his head. First he needed food. Then he needed a place to sleep. Clothes could wait.

He found a quiet corner behind a closed store and sat down on an old wooden box. He closed his eyes and spoke in a low voice.

“System, show me what the QR point is for.”

A clear screen appeared in front of his eyes. Only he could see it.

[QR Point = Quest Reward Point.

Used to buy items and skills from the System Store.]

Williams stared at the words. “Open the store.”

The screen changed. A long list of skills and items appeared.

Strength ×2 — 100 QR

Iron Fists — 150 QR

Musical Talent — 250 QR

Acting Talent — 250 QR

Piano Mastery — 250 QR

Professional Driving — 300 QR

Piloting Skill — 1000 QR

Business Knowledge — 1500 QR

Assassination Basics — 3000 QR

Williams’s eyes moved down the list. His heart beat faster. If he could buy even one of these skills, his life would change. He looked at the number in the corner of the screen.

QR Points: 1

He almost laughed. One point. The cheapest useful skill needed one hundred points.

“System,” he said, “why are the prices so high?”

[Because these skills become part of the host in less than one minute. No normal person can learn them so fast.]

Williams stayed quiet for a long time. He understood. The system would not make him strong for free. He had to work for every point.

He closed the store screen and stood up. His stomach growled again. He needed food now.

He walked until he found a clean restaurant with bright lights. The name on the sign looked expensive. A young woman in a black uniform stood at the door. She looked at Williams’s dirty clothes and frowned.

“I’m sorry, sir. This restaurant is for members only.”

Williams took out his new bank card and held it up. “I can pay.”

The woman still looked unsure, but she let him inside. She led him to a small table near the back.

Williams sat down and opened the menu. The prices were high, but he did not care. He had not eaten properly for days. He ordered many dishes — rice, meat, soup, vegetables, and sweet desserts.

The woman looked at him with wide eyes. “Sir… that is enough food for five or six people.”

“I’m very hungry,” Williams said simply.

The food came one plate after another. Williams ate without stopping. He did not look at the other tables. He only focused on the taste and the feeling of a full stomach. When he finally put down his chopsticks, every plate was empty.

The restaurant had become quiet. Many people were staring at him. Some had their phones out. Williams felt heat rise in his face. He had not noticed how much he was eating.

He stood up and walked to the counter. The same young woman printed a long bill. Her hands shook a little.

“Fifty thousand dollars,” she said in a soft voice.

Williams took out his bank card. Before he could give it to her, the system spoke clearly in his mind.

[Ding! New quest issued.

Work as a server in this restaurant for three days as payment for the meal.

Accept or decline?]

Williams froze. Fifty thousand dollars was nothing to him now. He could pay and leave. But the system had given him a quest. If he declined, he might lose the chance to earn more QR points.

He looked at the young woman’s worried face. She had been kind enough to let him in even when he looked poor.

Williams put the bank card back in his pocket.

“I… I cannot pay right now,” he said. His voice was calm, but his heart beat fast. “Can I work here for three days instead?”

The woman’s face turned white. “Sir, the manager will not accept that.”

Before Williams could answer, a fat man in a black suit walked over. His eyes were small and cold.

“What is the problem?” he asked.

The young woman explained quickly. The fat man’s face grew dark. He looked at Williams from head to toe.

“You ate fifty thousand dollars of food and now you say you cannot pay?” His voice was low and dangerous. “Guards, take him to my office.”

Two large men stepped forward. Williams did not fight. He followed them. The young woman walked behind them with tears in her eyes.

Inside the office the fat manager sat behind a big desk and smiled in a way that made Williams feel cold.

“You will work here for three days,” the manager said. “If the money is not paid after that, I will decide what to do with you and the girl who let you in.”

Williams nodded once. “I accept.”

The manager laughed and called for a server uniform.

Williams changed clothes in a small room. When he came out, the young woman looked at him with a mix of fear and anger.

“You just made things worse for both of us,” she whispered.

Williams met her eyes. He could not tell her about the system. He could only speak the truth he was allowed to say.

“I will pay the money after three days,” he said. “I promise.”

The woman turned away without answering.

Williams put on the server tray and walked into the busy restaurant. The system’s voice came one last time.

[Quest accepted. Host must complete three full days as a server. Do not fail.]

Williams took a deep breath and began his second quest.

Do you think I believe you?”Williams took out his bank card and placed it on the desk. “Check the account.”The manager’s smile became smaller. He picked up the phone and called the bank.
