Mezzle sighed. “What did you give them in return?” Mezzle asked, but that didn’t look like a question that the alien was ready to answer.

“You know you don’t need to protect anyone, Jarka. Right now, most of the people who helped you are probably dead if not all of them.”

Jarka nodded. “You are right.” He said, still staring with an uncertain look on his face. “But most of them are close to you, Human.”
