A small crowd had already gathered outside.

"What does he think that he is doing? Causing trouble here?

I think he has a death wish. Disturbing a party that has been set up by the Sinclairs!" The onlookers added once again.

"Get off my path!" Mazzle lodge.

The guards that dared to step in his way were thrown across the room in just a single fist.

Eyes widened with shock.

"Did this feral-looking young boy just toss off a well-trained guard of the Sinclair family with just one toss?" It was difficult for them to believe the sight that lay right before their very eyes.

With no obstructions no longer in front, he stepped through the bodies into the large hall.

The place was mostly filled with older men, licking their lips and would do anything to get Kira in their grips.

While she was still dating Mazzle, should would discard all their advances like it was nothing.

"How has the mighty fallen!" They laughed.

A metal rod ran through Mazzle's heart seeing Kira's broken state. A whirlwind of mixed emotions rushed through his guilt-filled chest.

Soon, the guards rushed after him, trying to pull him away from the room. But just with a single push, he tossed them off through the room.

The commotion caused the stares from everyone to blaze through his skin. Everyone else didn't matter except that of Kira as she stared deeply.

Their eyes connected causing emotions to surge through the room.

"Who dares to interrupt this party?" A feminine roar pierced through the room.

Madame Zin stepped forward, anger flashing through her eyes.

However, when she stared at Mazzle, she paused, catching every little detail of the young man who stood before her.

Then the recognition hits her

She was taken aback. Her face blurring into nothingness.

For seven years, everyone presumed that Mazzle was as good as dead. She made sure of that. All the death certificates and all the pictures that had been sent to them all pointed out to good riddance. How was he here?

Her face schooled back into abject mockery.

"Who would have thought you would decide to show your face here today at such a time?" She inquired with a glint of mockery in her eyes.

"I'm not here to play games. I want my wife back!"

"Do I need to remind you that you were never married in the first instance? You abandoned her!"

Mazzle remained collected. His gaze was steady and sharp. They made it seem that he ran away out of his own free will and nothing more, putting their best cunning into play.

But there was no need to reveal their atrocities before everyone was present. That would be letting them off the hook so easily. They needed to pay for their crimes. And even for that, death would be a luxury.

His plans were already set in motion. For now, the only reason that he was around was to get her away from this crowd of vipers.

"I won't ask again!"

"Dear dear Mazzle. A lot of things have happened since you were away. Your find needed to save your son's life and borrowed some money from the Sinclair company.

And this is the consequence of her refusal to pay back. It's out of our generosity that she isn't dead yet!" She said calmly.

"And even though you're alive, you're just like the wretched soul you look. Not the high and mighty Mazzle we used to know.

So I will be giving you the last opportunity for you to leave due to the past connection we once shared." She noted.

"Then you would have to stop me!"

A shockwave instantly ran through the spine of everyone in the hall.

Mazzle proceeded to get Kira off the stage. A wave of finely trained men stood before him, in all their glory.

"You have a death wish and we're here to grant it!" They proclaimed.

They attacked each one of them with weapons in their hands. And Mazzle, his feet remained rooted to the ground like it was nothing.

The crowd scoffed.

"Such a useless fellow. Thinking that he still holds the power he once held that made him so arrogant."

"He cannot even pose a fighting stand. There's no need to be excited. Because he's as good as dead already!" Another member of the crowd noted.

"The Sinclair guild will so put him in his place. And make him realize that while was under a rock, the world was moving on!"

Most of these men hated the fact that a beautiful damsel like Kira fell in love with Mazzel, one of the fastest-rising billionaires at that time.

They all fired at Mazzel, dust rose through the hair. The crowd could barely trace the movements of the fierce battle that unfolded before them.

Heart raced. And soon, the dust died down. Their jaws slacked to the ground when only Mazzle was left standing.

Without even a strain on his body. And the dozens of guards were all on the floors groaning in abject pain.

The Sinclairs were shocked. Eyes widened with shock.

Mazzle walked up to Kira and loosened the ropes. She opened her mouth to speak but only whispers came out.

"Save your strength!" Mazzle whispered into her hearings and a strand of tears escaped from her eyes.

Meanwhile, Madam Zins's hands curdled into a tight ball until her hands crackled. The bitter taste of disdain rose through her throat.

"You dare to incestuous the meeting of the Sinclair family and cause so much trouble.

I don't care what you have been doing all this while. I will make sure you pay for this."

Almost immediately, the earth beneath them began to shake violently. Breathes were held as a giant man walked into the room with a big baton.

Lord of the arena as he was fondly called. The man who defeated an entire guild within a few minutes and without breaking a sweat.

The crowd that had once lost faith immediately had their hopes revived.

"Definitely... The Sinclair's King of Arena could crush the bastard with the blink of an eye." They noted with so much assurance rising through their chest.

A smile peeped through the face of Zin.

"Let's see how you fair against the king of arena!" She noted.

The King of Arena cracked his heavy bones and shifted his bulky wait.

"Hope this is going to be worth the stress!" He noted with his grumpy voice.

"Stop!" A large voice resounded through the hall and a man with grey hair walked right in, with so much authority that held his breaths tightly in their place.

The spiral tunnel took them down slowly, like an elevator made of light and shifting energy. There were no walls you could actually see, and it felt less like moving through real space and more like going down through layers of memory itself."This doesn't feel real," Kira said, gripping Eren's wrist tight to keep her balance."It's not exactly real," Eren said back. "We're moving through the Drift system itself now."Elina stuck close behind them, her eyes huge as she tried to wrap her head around what she was seeing. The hallway wasn't made of metal or stone. It was built from tangled signals and data pulses, making a path through the actual framework of the Drift. They went down for almost a minute before light started spreading out ahead of them. The feeling of solid ground came back under their feet as they walked into a room so huge that the ceiling just disappeared into darkness above."Look up there," Elina whispered.Thousands of lights sparkled in groups and patterns like st

The reflection just sat there for a few seconds, totally still and clear. The black mirror's surface didn't move at all, but you could feel this weird electric buzz filling up the room. Eren stood right in front of it, not even fazed by his own face looking back at him."That's not just some regular reflection," Kira said under her breath, walking up slowly. "It's actually looking at you."She could feel this pressure building up in her ears and some strange vibrating under her feet. This wasn't just some random thing they'd found. It was like some kind of control panel, way more complicated than anything they'd run into in the Root or Vault rooms.Elina walked around the edges of the room, trying to scan the thing with her gadgets, but all her stuff just died without any warning."My equipment won't do anything near this thing," she said. "Whatever it is, it doesn't want us recording it or figuring it out."Eren lifted his hand toward the mirror, stopping just a couple inches away. T

The hills spread out like old bones across the north side of the valley, sharp ridges of rock and rusty metal from old fights that time had eaten away. Eren, Kira, and Elina moved carefully through the area, keeping their speed steady but careful."Still nothing from anybody," Kira said quietly, looking back for like the hundredth time. The air felt weird around them, not from being up high but from something invisible pushing down on everything. Every few minutes, Elina stopped to check if anyone was following them, but her gear still wouldn't work right."Whatever was guarding the Root place is still here," she said. "Like some kind of jamming that hasn't gone away yet."They got to the top of a hill that looked down at a narrow canyon filled with the leftover junk from old Freeman supply routes. Busted cargo stuff and twisted metal framework was scattered everywhere, what was left of a transport line that used to connect Freeman's northern bases."I know this spot," Eren said, look

The air felt different when the door closed behind them. They were cut off from the room where Eren had taken his test. Outside, everything looked the same—cold, quiet, covered in thick clouds and Freeman's heavy silence. But something big had changed. When Eren walked forward, the land acted different around him. There were no shakes or things you could see, but Kira felt it like something huge finally clicking into place after being broken for years."You're different now," Kira said, looking at him hard.Eren didn't look older or tired from whatever happened in that test room. But his eyes had something new in them that wasn't there before. Not just knowing things, but carrying something heavy. The kind of knowledge that makes you see everything differently."I feel more like me," he said simply. "More than I have since this whole thing started."Kira nodded. She got it. Whatever happened during that test, he picked it himself. No point worrying about it now. If he changed, it was

The newly opened hall stretched into darkness ahead of them, its walls smooth and solid. No lights marked the path, no signs or symbols, only that single word carved above the entrance: Convergence. The air inside felt warmer than the room they had left behind, like the temperature was changing to match their presence.Eren walked first, his steps calm and sure against the stone-like floor. Under the surface, a faint current seemed to pulse, like the pathway itself was alive."This feels different," Kira said quietly, following close behind him."The whole place is responding to us," Elina added, checking her equipment. "Or maybe just to Eren."They moved deeper into the hall, which started to slope downward in a slow spiral. The drop was so exact and steady that it mixed up Elina's sense of direction. The tunnel never changed in width or height, but the feeling in their bones got heavier with each step.

They walked quietly through the dark, using just the blue glow from their gear and what was left of Elina's scanner. The ground ahead looked all torn up and empty, like nobody had cared about it for years. "This place gives me the creeps," Kira said, watching where she stepped around loose rocks. "Something really bad went down here." "Yeah, it's totally dead," Elina said, looking at her readings. "Freeman used it for testing stuff way back, but they never put it on any maps or anything." Eren was walking in front of them, moving like he knew exactly where he was going even though he'd never been here before. Ever since they left the Root place, he'd been acting different—not bad different, just like he was listening to something the rest of them couldn't hear. "How do you even know which way to go?" Kira asked, jogging to catch up with him. "I honestly don't know," Eren said. "It's like someone stuck a GPS in my brain, but instead of directions, it's just feelings about which w
