While the ladies held onto the weapons in their hands, they kept their eyes focused on the particular place the sound had come from.

Even though they didn’t hear anything for a while, it was not enough to stop them from being wary of whatever could come out of the place they were looking at.

Elina turned to Kira. “What do you think that is?” She asked, but Kira didn’t know what to say to her.

Then the sound returned, sounding like something that was about to attack them.

They intensified their guard, taking two steps backward while they took stances. They didn’t look ready to attack, but they were willing to do anything to stay out of trouble.

Elina cleared her throat. “I knew that this ship was trouble, Kira! I knew it!”

“I agree with you!” Kira said in a hurry, and then she took another step backward.

The sound had stopped, but they were certain that it was only a matter of time before they heard it again.
