"About that....., A good Samaritan did." Logan replied and smiled exposing his white teeth. He didn't want to tell Maya about his encounter with his father and how he is now the boss in the most prominent company in the city Nexus X.

"Really, that's strange but also a good news." Maya said.

"So I want you to take back this bag of money and give it back to the lenders. I have money now, though not much but it will serve for a long time."

Maya was shocked into silence, how does someone go from being broke to having a sum of money that can serve for a very long time?

"It's like you are hiding something from me, Logan!?" Maya said suspiciously.

"How do you mean, Darling?" "I don't even know the person, as I was seated in the hospital a man on a black suit came over and handed me a check of 1.5 million dollars, he said his boss sent him, and the most shocking was that he knows my name. As soon as he gave me the check he left and I couldn't even get his name."

"That's serious, just like that!?" Maya said in disbelief.

"Yes, just like that." Inwardly Logan was wishing she stopped asking about the money, he wanted to change the topic, but changing the topic would lead to more suspicions. It wasn't easy lying to the woman he loves so much.

Just then an angry female voice sounded. "Maya!! have you gone naught?"

It was none other than Rosalind, Maya's mother. Out of anger she rushed down to drag Maya back to the company.

"And you, good for nothing man, have you come to make my daughter Jobless as yourself?" Rosalind screamed curses.

As she was yet speaking, Logan was touching the bridge of his nose. And after a while he handed the bag of money to Maya and waved her good bye.

"See you later." Maya said as Logan was leaving.

"you are so shameless Maya, how could you..."

Before she could complete the sentence Maya already knew what her mother was about to say she quickly interrupted her.

"He is my husband mum and that all that matters."

"How dare you talk back at me, I am trying to make your life better, I am so disappointed in you Maya." Rosalind replied and they both walked back to the company building.

Bardot will take good care of you, he is from a wealthy family and he is even the heir to his family. As she was still speaking Maya left her and went to her office.

Listening to her mother talk about divorcing Logan makes her sick, though she married Logan on her grandfather's request, she has come to love Logan.

"How on earth are you making my life better by frustrating my marriage and setting meet up with Someone else?"

As she got to her office, her grandmother and Olivia were already there, waiting to scold her as they normally do. Mrs Fairfax was sitting at Maya official chair while Olivia sat on the table Infront of her.

On seeing Olivia sitting comfortably on her office table. She became enraged, Olivia her younger cousin has been a torn to her flesh ever since they were little.

At first she wanted to throw something at her but on a second thought she decided against it as it might cause more problem to her.

"Olivia! what brought you to my office? the problem you Caused outside earlier isn't enough for you, right!!?" She was shocked into silence when she sighted her grandmother, she didn't see her grandmother at first.

"You disgraceful granddaughter." Mrs Fairfax cursed.

Olivia gave out a devilish chuckle, intending to anger Maya the more but maya attention was on Mrs Fairfax.

"Grandma, you are here. What do I owe this visit?" she said not minding her grandmother's brutal words. Mrs Fairfax has always been so cruel to her that she sometimes questions if truly she is her grandchild.

"Why are you bent to disgracing our family? My late husband make a very big mistake in choosing you to run this company, and choosing that lunatic as your husband worsen everything."

Olivia is always delighted to hear Mrs Fairfax rain curse on Maya. "I should be the one running the company not her, she is not even capable of running her own life." Olivia scoffed.

Grandfather loved her too but he choose Maya to run the company not her, this made her so mad. When Mr Fairfax was alive Olivia did all she could to gain his favour, but an hour before he died he signed a document stating that maya takes over the company.

On the document, it states that Maya is his replacement but since she was still young and inexperienced his wife Mrs Lois Fairfax take over until Maya turns 25.

"Yes my dear your grandfather should have chose you instead, Olivia!" Mrs Fairfax said in agreement to what Olivia said.

"Grandma, it's not my fault that grandfather gave me control over his company, and I do know that I have not reached you expectations, I am still under your and am learning so much from you."

Olivia's face frowned as she heard Maya's reply to all their scolding, she was expecting to see her cry her eyes off as she normally does, that was the fun part of scolding her. But unfortunately Maya did no such thing, she was so calm as she replied them.

Mrs Fairfax stood up and walked away she was so displeased with Maya and everything that surrounds her. As she was walking out she paused and looked back at Maya's direction, Maya was already sitting in her chair about to open some of the files in front of her to start work.

"Divorce your husband......That is the only way you can take over the company when you turn 25, else I will be forced to give it to Edmond your cousin."

Maya was taken aback at that statement. "what?!" Her face frowned.
