Klaus’s pov

I knew this was going to happen. I looked at the faces of the people seated and I knew all they wanted was to protect Felix. “ I know you are going to say this? If Felix didn't do it. Who did?”

“Jerome did and he is dead.” The Dean said, looking at me. “ You have to let this go, Klaus. For your sake.”

“ For my sake? You mean to tell me you know he crippled my girlfriend and I should sit back and do nothing about it?” I said in anger.

As I barged out of the Dean's office, I could see some of the students waiting patiently at the door. Maybe they wanted to hear the truth about the school not supporting the weak or maybe they just wanted to confirm the fact that Felix was untouchable.

I was losing the battle even before it started. It was only going to be a matter of time before Felix and Celine were released.

“ I knew he couldn't win against the council.”

“ He would have let it go.”

“ Celine's father is a top notch official in the university grounds and not to mentio

Klaus’s POVThe campus never felt colder. Not because of the wind—it was sunny, almost mockingly warm—but because something inside me felt I was cheated and things were done wrongly. The weight that once crushed me now steadied me. Evelyn’s betrayal, Celine’s father’s slander, Felix’s smug victory—it had all bled out into one undeniable truth.Justice was dead. And I was done mourning.I didn’t go back to my dorm. I couldn’t. I didn’t go see Jordan or Ava either.Instead, I walked. Past the student garden. Past the sculpture of Chancellor Gregory that now looked more like a rotting monument than anything noble. The same place where I had walked up to her to ask her to be my date. That memory? Buried.I ended up at the North Annex—the part of the school where the elite clubs had their meetings. The future presidents. CEOs. Diplomats. Heirs. All of them shielded by legacy, money, and bloodlines. The same names on the target list.[System Activated: Facial Recognition Matching Target P

Klaus's POV It all felt like a bombshell that was dropped on me. “ What did you say?” I said, slowly looking into her eyes. “ After everything. I am doing this for you!” I shouted, staring at her eyes. “ I am doing this for us, and you are going to throw it away. For what?” I asked, still not understanding why Evelyn wanted to call it quits. “ Because if you can't win them, then you join them. Do you think you can win this? Felix already beat you flat. You need to admit that. Whatever it is that we shared, that we had is gone.” Evelyn said as she wheeled herself past me. The reporters flocked to her side, and only God knows what it was that she was talking to them about. I felt my body weaken, and even though I had the power of the system, it felt useless. [Ding!] [System Avatar mission: Date as many girls as you can on campus. Note: They are to be top-notch right inside the school, and they must be wealthy.I looked at my phone and then back at the noise and paparazzi going on

Klaus’s POVThe tires screeched as I veered onto the main road, my heart beating fast, almost louder than the engine. My hands trembled around the wheel—not from fear, but from a volatile mix of rage, adrenaline, and something I hadn’t dared to feel in a long time.Hope.Jordan’s message blazed in my mind like a neon sign in the dark. There might actually be a way to find who drove the car.I didn’t know what he meant yet, didn’t know what magic or science or miracle he’d found—but I was going to find out.I slammed the brakes as I pulled up in front of Jordan’s off-campus apartment. I didn’t knock. I didn’t call. I charged up the stairs two steps at a time and kicked his door open.He was already standing in the middle of the room, phone in hand, eyes wide with panic.“Klaus—”“What did you find?” I snapped. “Tell me. Now.”Jordan blinked, then shoved a laptop toward me. “It wasn’t easy, okay? But I remembered something—back when we used to sneak onto the science building’s rooftop,

Klaus's pov As I walked out of the hospital, I could hear her sob and her words of regret. I clenched my hands and decided to pay Felix a visit. I knew I was not going to win the fight but I was going to throw every damn punch in his way. As I opened the exit game driving back towards the university ground. My phone pinged and I saw it was a message from Jordan. I was too angry to look it up. Too pissed to check what he has sent to me. A part of me wished I had given Evelyn the portion to drink. It was just Jordan's fingers but she was going to be stuck on a wheel chair for the rest of my life. I prayed silently for a mission that comes with a magical healing potion yet again. As I drove into the school compound, I saw a lot of students staring at their phones. They were bickering among themselves like one of the students was dead. But the fact was that the news about the accident and Evelyn becoming a cripple had spread like wildfire. I wonder who was able to pass the news of

Klaus’s POVThe vase shattered against my temple before I even realized what was happening.Glass fragments exploded in a burst of pain, and a trickle of blood slid warm and slowed down the side of my face. I staggered back, one hand catching the edge of the doorway as the other instinctively went to the cut.I didn't care. A part of me felt apologetic. Maybe I deserved what she threw at me or not?I was not sure how I was supposed to feel "Evelyn?" My voice was rough, strained, full of disbelief. Her eyes—those same honey-brown eyes that used to soften at the sight of me—were wild now. Red-rimmed, swollen with tears and something worse. Betrayal.I stepped into the room despite Talia's attempt to block me. "Don't—" she started, but I pushed past her."You don't get to come in here now!" Evelyn screamed. Her voice was broken, cracked glass in the wind. "Where the hell have you been?"My jaw clenched. I looked at her—really looked at her. Pale. Fragile. Sunken cheeks and too-thin wr
