The Cursed of The Forest Ritual

The forest, which is located at the end of Dusun Sentani, turns out to have hidden stories of mystery involving ancestors who once lived in the forest, which is now a ritual place for people arriving from outside the city seeking wealth and fame.

It is said that in this forest lives a beautiful demon who can grant all wishes of her devotee who provides all kinds of conditions requested by her. In contrast to other ritual places, in this forest lives a white tiger demon who will turn into a very beautiful girl when she meets someone who will perform the ritual in the forest.

The ancestors of Dusun Sentani once made the mistake of carelessly logging and burning the forest where the white tiger demon lived, so they had to obey every wish of this demon if they did not want harm to their descendants. That is what makes this Forest cursed and never entered by the descendants of the ancestors who once made a promise to this white tiger demon not to disturb his residence.

However, some residents of this hamlet disobey the rules made by their ancestors by entering the forest and cutting it down to make agricultural land. They do not believe in the existence of a white tiger demon in the form of a beautiful girl who guards the forest at the end of their village. Of course their determination meant that they were never seen back in the Dusun Sentani. Some say they have been killed by a white tiger in this forest. But there are also those who say that they are made slaves of the white tiger demon to take care of all its needs in the forest.

Since the disappearance of several hamlet residents who were determined to violate this rule, not a single Dusun Sentani resident has ever dared to touch this forest again. They consider this forest as a Sacred Forest that should not be disturbed so that life in Dusun Sentani can run well and smoothly.

The life of the hamlet residents is slowly starting to get better again after a long period of drought after the disappearance of several village residents who broke the rules. Harvest crops began to be abundant so that the hamlet residents believed someone was protecting them from the Sacred Forest because of their ancestral agreement.

Dusun Sentani has a beautiful natural panorama in the morning but very scary in the pitch black at night. The people of the hamlet are still happy living in Dusun Sentani because it gives them quite an abundance of crops. This hamlet is rarely visited by outsiders because of its remote location from human civilization. To go to Dusun Sentani, you have to go through a deep and swift river. Residents who sometimes need fertilizer and have to shop in the city use the rope they depend on to cross this swift river.

The Sacred Forest has also not been touched by outsiders for many years due to the difficulty of the access road leading to Dusun Sentani. However, all of that changed decades ago after a bridge was built over a fast river which made access roads that were originally closed open again. More and more newcomers are settling in Dusun Sentani.

One of them is the married couple Mr. and Mrs. Gunawan who built a big house at the end of this hamlet. Not many know the origins of this married couple. The couple only asked for permission to stay and then bought the people's plantation land at a price that was quite expensive at that time, causing many residents of Dusun Sentani to sell their land to the wealthy businessman Gunawan.

It's just that since the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Gunawan, the condition of the end of the hamlet has always been bright because they had lighting equipment which was quite expensive at that time. Villagers also often see this couple entering the sacred forest at night with sufficient lighting.

Because this couple almost owns all the agricultural fields cultivated by farmers in this hamlet, no one dares to scold them about this couple's activities at night. Rumors have surfaced that this couple is holding a ritual with a white tiger demon in the Sacred Forest as a condition for gaining wealth.

Since the arrival of the Gunawan family, the village residents have been able to forgive those who have entered the forest. According to them, there is no problem with the rituals they hold as long as they don't disturb the lives of the original hamlet residents and improve their standard of living.

The Sacred Forest gradually became known as the Ritual Forest. Since Mr. and Mrs. Gunawan disappeared, several migrants from outside the Dusun Sentani began to ask permission to go to the Ritual Forest at the end of the hamlet to ask something from the guardians of this forest. The villagers never heard from Mr and Mrs Gunawan again until decades later. They also never told their descendants about the origins of the big house at the end of the hamlet, so many rumors arose about the now empty house.
