Dear Readers,
Thanks for reading my story this far even though my updates are slow. You guys are awesome. I will try to write faster in the immediate future. The 157th chapter marks the ending of the Prelude Arc. It will be followed by the Ascension Arc. Tyler Grant is indeed gifted and powerful. However, the challenges in his path will become more difficult progressively as he edges towards his ascension as the Seraphim King. He realizes it is not a position to be taken lightly. It comes with enormous responsibilities unlike any other in the world. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Tyler's future choices will determine the fate of the world. He will have to make them while weighing the safety and security of his loved ones, some of whom he will first encounter in the Ascension Arc. Tyler will have to make them while facing overpowered, diabolical evil. Without further ado, let's move on with the story. Stay tuned and share on social media if you can! Yours fictionally,Kaiser Ken.P.S.: Do read the other two stories in my account: The Peerless Man With A Thousand Gifts, and Eve Of A Thousand Wakes. All three stories are set in the same universe and will have a crossover at some point of time. Have fun!

266 The Prophecies
Amelia straightened, letting her playful demeanor slip away. “I know who you are, Victor.”The Mayor raised an eyebrow, fishing for meaning. “Well… As the leader of the most powerful military-industrial city, I must say that many people are familiar with me. I don’t see why you wouldn’t—”“I’m not playing games, Victor Cromwell. Or must I call you Victor Damone?”The man’s expression hardened, but he did not respond immediately.Amelia smirked slightly. “Surprised? I know the prophecy, too—the Peerless Man with a Thousand Gifts. There’s no point denying it.“The room went still. Victor stared at her for an entire minute silently. When he spoke, his voice was calm, but there was an edge to it. “What else do you know? Especially about the prophecy.”Amelia didn’t blink. “I know you’re part of the triad prophecies: The Gilded Man with a Thousand Lives, The Peerless Man with a Thousand Gifts, and Eve of a Thousand Wakes.”His fingers tapped once on the desk, a flicker of surprise crossing
265 The Lieutenant Mayor
The military stronghold, Fort Cromwell, loomed over Springfield like a steel monolith. Its gray, impenetrable walls blended into the smoky sky of the industrial city. It looked like a monstrous building in a dystopian future. Amelia Briar’s car was finally allowed inside after scrutiny of her visiting papers. Apparently, Springfield’s Mayor did not allow non-citizens to enter the city without permission. After all, it was the country’s largest supplier of firearms. Inside the stronghold, the air was sharp with the tang of metal. Amelia kept reminding herself that this was a place built for war, not comfort. She stood in a sterile chamber, her arms crossed as two lady soldiers faced her. Their uniforms were crisp, and their expressions blank. “Strip,” one of them barked. “Down to nothing. We need to check for weapons.” Amelia’s lips pressed into a thin line, but she didn’t argue. She’d never get access to the Mayor without going through the security checks. The young woman shrugged

“Bingo.” Ashley’s eyes gleamed. “Mine are pretty cool if I do say so myself. I discovered them the hard way though.”Natalie was star-struck. “What are they?”“Well… I get visions—snippets of the future. They’re usually about unfortunate and horrific tragedies. And the big one?” She leaned in. “I can die and come back. Rewind time and start over. Done it several times, many of which weren’t voluntary.”Natalie stared at the woman, her mouth dry. “You’re serious? That is epic! But I can understand time travel since I know it to be possible. Tyler did it once to save Kat.”Ashley raised an eyebrow. “Oh, did he? He must have lost a great deal in the process. The men of prophecy can’t do time travel seamlessly like me. The point is, you’ve got something too. We just don’t know what yet.”Before Natalie could process that, a group of men approached—three of them. They were in crisp, expensive suits and brandished oily, perverted smiles. The leader leaned on their table, his breath heavy wi

Natalie Anderson stepped out of the elevator, her sneakers squeaking faintly against the polished marble floor. It was a high-rise lobby, much fancier than the one back home at Anderson Industries. Norwich City glittered through the floor-to-ceiling windows. It was a sprawl of lights and noise. She had always wanted to visit Norwich as a child, having heard stories of its majestic ports and gargantuan ships. However, right now, her mind was too tangled to take in the grandeur. Tyler’s words echoed in her head: Go to Norwich. Find out what it means to carry Eve’s womb. It’s bigger than us, Nat. Find out more about yourself. His voice had been urgent, almost pleading and caring then. It didn’t matter anymore. They were broken up. But life didn’t end there. She had to find her origin. The receptionist waved her toward a private elevator with a curt gesture. “Ms. Anderson? Top floor, Ms. Palmer’s waiting for you.” Natalie nodded, stepping inside. The ride up was silent, the numbers cli
262 Immortality
Tyler wished the Lady of the Lake had given him at least a few seconds' head start before unpausing time. He saw Veronica's bat arcing toward Yara's skull. A thick smear of glee and satisfaction marred her evil grin. Perhaps the murder of someone helpless and unarmed was a fetish for her and Dagon. However, Tyler was no longer helpless. His mystical energy connection had not returned. But he had the Excalibur now, a weapon that transcended the mystics and the divine. There was no time to hesitate—every moment counted. With a surge of adrenaline, he launched himself forward. As expected, the young man's super-speed had returned. Tyler closed the gap in a split second. And dealt his blow in the second. The Excalibur gleamed in his hand as he swung, the blade slicing through the air with purpose. The first cut landed hard, hacking off Veronica's arm just above the elbow. Her scream was blood-curdling but very satisfactory to Tyler's ears. The severed portion of her arm fell to t
261 The Sword of Destiny
Tyler rubbed his eyes with a shaky hand, half convinced he’d hit his head too hard. Of course, he had dealt with gods and goddesses before, but they were part of scripture and mythology. This particular fantasy story coming to life was rather incredible.“This isn’t real,” the young man muttered. “No way this is happening.” But it was as real as rain. The Arthurian legends he’d read about as a kid—knights in armor, magic swords, enchanted ladies—were crashing into his life right here, right now.Still battling with death, he let out a shaky laugh. “I’m in a storybook. A freaking fairy tale.”Tyler’s body ached terribly, his injuries still bleeding and excruciating. However, beyond the pain, he realized something strange. It was the world around him. Everything had stopped, like someone had hit pause on a movie.Tyler turned his head to see Veronica standing a few yards away, her gnarled baseball bat raised high, mid-swing toward Yara’s head.Yara was immobilized, her eyes wide in horr
