"Lucian! What are you doing?! Get away from him!" Sarah’s scream was shrill, nearly drowned out by the thunderous footsteps of the Abyssal Sentinel.

Lucian didn't even glance at her. He stood over Borris, the man who had crushed his leg only an hour ago. The Tanker’s breathing was a wet, ragged rattle. His armor—the Pride of the Blue Falcon—was now just twisted scrap metal.

"You... you're supposed to be... dead..." Borris wheezed, blood bubbling at the corners of his mouth.

"I was," Lucian whispered, his voice devoid of warmth. "But I found a new job. And right now, Borris... you’re just raw material."

Lucian placed his hand on Borris’s chest.

[Target: Hunter 'Borris' (Rank D - Tanker).] [Condition: Near-Death (Life Force 2%).] [Would you like to 'Recycle'? (Y/N)]

"Yes."

[Recycle Successful!] [Gained: 1,200 Exp!] [Gained: Permanent Stat Boost: +15 Vitality, +10 Strength.] [Gained: Skill 'Indomitable Will' (Rank D - Passive).] [Gained: 1x Fragment of Earth Mana.]

Underneath Lucian’s palm, Borris’s body didn't just die—it dissolved into golden particles. The heavy steel plate armor, the muscles, the bones—everything was sucked into Lucian. A sudden weightiness settled in Lucian’s bones. He felt denser, tougher, his skin shimmering with a faint, metallic luster for a split second.

[Level Up! Level 4 -> Level 7]

"He's... he's gone..." Sarah stumbled back, her staff clattering to the ground. "Lucian, you just... you killed him!"

"The dungeon killed him, Sarah," Lucian said, standing up and dusting off his hands. "I just made sure he didn't go to waste."

"You monster!" Miller yelled from across the room. The Captain was trembling, his sword shaking in his hand. "You used a Forbidden Skill! When the Association hears about this—"

"The Association?" Lucian turned, his golden eyes locking onto Miller. "Bold of you to assume you’re leaving this room to tell them anything."

ROAR!

The Abyssal Sentinel, annoyed by the tiny humans ignoring it, swung its flaming greatsword in a massive horizontal arc. The heat was blinding.

"Lucian, help!" Sarah cried out as the blade whistled toward her.

Lucian moved. But he didn't use a shield. He didn't use magic. He simply stepped in front of the flaming blade and raised his left arm, now reinforced by Borris’s recycled vitality.

CLANG!

The sound of the impact was like a hammer hitting an anvil. The floor beneath Lucian’s feet cracked, but he didn't budge. The flaming sword, capable of cutting a Rank-D Tanker in half, stopped dead against Lucian’s forearm.

"My turn to scavenge," Lucian muttered.

He pulled the obsidian dagger—'Scavenger’s Fang'—from his belt.

Swish!

He didn't aim for the armor. He aimed for the gaps. Lucian moved with the agility of a ghost, his Rank-F 'trash' past giving him the perfect knowledge of where things break. He had spent years repairing gear; he knew exactly how to dismantle it.

Stab. Twist. Extract.

[Critical Hit! Gained: 5x Agility (Temporary).] [Effect 'Bleed' Inflicted on Abyssal Sentinel!]

The Sentinel let out a metallic groan. It tried to pull back, but Lucian was like a shadow glued to its side. Every strike of his dagger didn't just hurt the monster; it stole from it.

[Extraction Successful! Gained: 1x Shard of Obsidian.] [Extraction Successful! Gained: 20 Mana.]

"He's... he's fighting a Rank-C boss... solo?" Miller watched, his jaw dropping. "That's impossible. He was a nobody! A scavenger!"

Jealousy flared in Miller’s eyes, even through his fear. He saw Lucian’s movements—fluid, lethal, and superior. If Lucian survived this, Miller’s career was over. The story of him abandoning a teammate who then soloed a Boss would ruin him.

"If I can't have the loot... nobody can!" Miller hissed. He raised his sword, but he didn't aim for the monster. He aimed a 'Wind Blade' skill at Lucian’s back.

Whoosh!

The sharp gust of pressurized air sliced through the air.

Lucian didn't even turn around. He simply tilted his head. The Wind Blade grazed his shoulder, cutting only his tattered shirt.

"System," Lucian said, his voice cold enough to freeze the air. "Is Miller in a 'Near-Death' state yet?"

[Answer: Negative. Target 'Miller' is at 95% Health.]

"Let's fix that."

In a move that defied physics, Lucian kicked off the Sentinel’s chest, propelling himself backward—straight toward Miller.

"What?! Get back!" Miller swung his sword wildly.

Lucian caught the blade with his bare hand, the metal groaning under his grip. He leaned in close to Miller’s ear, the heat from the Sentinel’s fire reflecting in his golden eyes.

"You said a tool that breaks isn't worth fixing, Miller," Lucian whispered.

Crunch.

Lucian snapped Miller’s sword like a dry twig.

"So, what happens to a Captain who breaks?"

Lucian’s fist buried itself in Miller’s stomach. The force was so great it sent Miller flying across the room, slamming him into the same stone wall where Lucian had been left to die.

Miller slumped to the ground, coughing up blood, his ribs shattered.

[Target: Miller (Rank D - Swordsman).] [Condition: Critical (Life Force 12%).]

"Lucian, stop!" Sarah ran forward, reaching for her healing staff. "We can still get out of here! Don't do this!"

Lucian looked at Sarah. He saw the pity in her eyes, the same pity that didn't save him when he was screaming for help.

"You had your chance to be a hero, Sarah," Lucian said, stepping toward the crawling Miller. "Now, you're just a witness."

The Abyssal Sentinel recovered, charging toward them for one final, desperate strike. The entire dungeon room began to collapse as the monster gathered all its flames into its sword.

"System," Lucian commanded. "Synthesize the 'Scavenger’s Fang' with the 'Fragment of Earth Mana' and the 'Shard of Obsidian.' Now!"

[Synthesis Initiating... 100% Success Rate!] [Gained: 'Earth-Shaker’s Obsidian Dirk' (Rank D - Rare).]

Lucian gripped the newly evolved weapon. It pulsed with a heavy, brown energy. He turned back to the charging Sentinel.

"Sit."

Lucian slammed the dagger into the ground.

RUMBLE!

Huge pillars of jagged obsidian erupted from the floor, impaling the Abyssal Sentinel from below. The giant suit of armor was frozen in mid-air, its flaming sword flickering out as the stone spikes pierced its core.

The room went deathly silent.

Lucian walked over to the impaled Boss. He didn't look at the loot. He looked at the dying Miller, who was watching in horror.

"Watch closely, Captain," Lucian said, placing his hand on the Boss's core. "This is how a scavenger cleans a room."

[Would you like to 'Recycle' the Abyssal Sentinel (Rank C+)? (Y/N)]

"Recycle."

A blinding pillar of dark light erupted from the center of the room. Sarah covered her eyes, screaming. Miller could only watch as the monster, the loot, and the very energy of the dungeon were sucked into the man he had called 'trash.'

When the light faded, Lucian stood in the center of a crater. His clothes were gone, replaced by a dark, shimmering aura that clung to his skin like liquid armor.

[Level Up! Level 7 -> Level 15] [Evolution Phase 1: Complete.] [New Skill Unlocked: 'Scavenger’s Domain'.]

Lucian turned to Miller, who was now weeping, his pride utterly obliterated.

"Now," Lucian said, his voice echoing with the power of the monster he had just devoured. "About that recycling..."

Suddenly, the dungeon began to shake violently. A red portal opened in the ceiling—a 'Dungeon Break' in reverse.

[Warning: Unknown Entity is investigating the disappearance of the Abyssal Sentinel.] [Recommendation: Exit immediately.]

Lucian looked at the portal, then at the terrified Sarah and the broken Miller. He could finish them now, but the System’s warning was redder than he’d ever seen.

"Consider this your lucky day," Lucian said, grabbing the dazed Sarah by the collar and dragging Miller’s limp body by the leg.

But he wasn't saving them.

"The world needs to see what’s left of the Blue Falcon," Lucian smiled darkly. "And they need to know that the trash has started taking itself out."

He leaped into the portal just as a gargantuan, pale hand reached out from the void to crush the spot where he had stood.
