The five victorious members couldn’t wipe the grins off their faces as they strolled down the passage hall.

Waiting for them at the end were the other six members of the team, pumping their fists in excitement, everyone was elated by their victory and advancement to the next stage.

However, Selene stood off to the side, hands on her hips, a stern expression on her face.

“What’s got you in a sour mood? Did you lose a bet?” Alec asked as he joined the rest of the team, leaving the celebratory hugs and shouts behind.

To get a briefing on the situation and ensure everything was alright, he was relieved when she initially shook her head no, but then, to his dismay, she shook her head yes.

“ Bet aside, what has me bothered now Is still not serious but it’s making me concern because a future conflict might arise from it,” Selene spoke up, capturing the attention of the team, who had temporarily suspended their jubilation.

It cursed its decision to turn back for revenge. Even as the backlash from the blast rippled through him, Alec was surprised to find that part of the attack’s force dispersed harmlessly through his body while another portion was repelled outright.–While most of Alec’s Golems were straining and fighting recklessly just to gain an advantage against the Tier 7 light wolves, one front actually had the advantage, and it was where Hunter, Oni, and Butcher fought. The wolf assigned to them was the weakest of the four, Alec knew this because he had already scanned each of them with his analysis skill, gauging their relative strength by elemental affinity rather than realm alone. The light wolf lashed out, sending claw beams of searing radiance through the air, as both Butcher and Oni split to either side, looking to attack it from the flanks, while Hunter charged headlong into the incoming attack.[> Mid Tier Spell – Nullify <]The instant the light claws entered Hunter’s spell range, their elemental force bled away, leaving only the ra

While Alec closed his eyes, he was drawn once more into the dark space, this time however to witness the brutal clash between the souls of the light wolf and his shadow wolf, since he had attempted to use the light wolf to push his shadow wolf’s evolution, the two beasts were now forced to battle, each vying for conscious dominance: one to claim control, the other destined for annihilation. If the opponent had been of equal or lower realm, Midnight would have devoured it swiftly without resistance. But here, the struggle was fiercer for two clear reasons. First, the light wolf was of a higher realm, unwilling to surrender to a weaker soul. Second, Midnight had not been the one to personally slay it, which made the contest of ownership inevitable, as only the victor of this soul battle could emerge from their fusion, carrying forward a new beast in the Tier 7 realm .Yet Alec remained utterly calm, not out of indifference but because of his unshakable confidence in Midnight, he knew

  • A Wolf's Grudge 1.

The light wolf leader looked utterly perplexed, on one hand, its pack had the demonic bull encircled, yet now it had to account for Alec and his golems looming nearby. No matter how it calculated the outcome of the fight, it didn’t look good for its pack. It longed to finish the bull with full force, but the sudden appearance of this human and his golems had shifted everything. Worse, Alec had already killed one of its pack members, and the urge for revenge gnawed at it. Still, the leader couldn’t find a clear path forward.Sending just one wolf against Alec while it and the remaining two wolves engaged the bull seems pointless, as Alec’s golems had proven too deadly, and even though the remaining three wolves were stronger than the one that died, the leader couldn’t afford to waste them as cannon fodder. Meanwhile, the bull showed no signs of falling anytime soon.“Fall back,” it finally commanded after heavy contemplation, the hunt wasn’t worth the risk anymore, the other wolves

Only with its situation did it take a second to think and then it realized that the lightning which had paralyzed it hadn’t come from the human mage who is calmly standing on the branch above, but from one of the eerie golems surrounding it.“Legion!” Alec called, his eyes still fixed on the four remaining light wolves.“Yes, boss!”“Kill it.”The command was barely spoken before a deafening bang shook the air, silence followed, chilling and absolute, as Alec, the wolves, and even the Iron-Blood Bull froze for a heartbeat. A second later, a thud sound rang out, followed by Legion’s cold voice.“Objective executed.”The bull turned, locking its blazing eyes on Alec, what it saw was the boy doubled over, with his right hand covering half his face, laughter spilling from his lips.
