The grand hall remained alive with soft music, guests clinked wine glasses as they chatted and laughed, but beneath all that acting, they all felt pressured by tonight's event.
Malcolm stood near the back with Julie, Tracy, and Silver, with champagne glasses in their hands. Their eyes kept drifting toward the entrance, again and again.
Ever since they arrived, they had been waiting.
Not for the Emmetts, not for speeches, not for the million dollar cars.
They were only waiting for two people, Robert and the mystery person from the Graham family.
Julie shifted on her heels, scanning the room. “He should be here by now." she said quietly.
Tracy nodded. “After everything that happened earlier… there’s no way he misses this.”
Silver crossed her arms. “I just want to see him up close again. I need to understand how he did that.”
Malcolm didn’t answer. His jaw was clenched, his grip firm around the stem of his glass. What he’d seen earlier with his own eyes still didn’t make sense to him. Strength like that. Power that operated like that, and that car.
Nothing added up.
Just then, the music dipped slightly. Conversations died down and heads turned toward the entrance as one of the staff members leaned toward the MC and whispered something into his ear.
Malcolm straightened instinctively.
“This is it." he muttered.
The doors opened.
A single figure walked in.
Malcolm nearly choked on his champagne.
He coughed sharply, lowering the glass as his eyes widened in disbelief. “You’ve got to be kidding me…”
Julie frowned. “What—?”
Silver followed his gaze and froze. “No way.”
It was Azeez.
He walked in slowly, shoulders lowered, posture restrained. Gone was the loud confidence he always carried. Gone was the arrogance that usually preceded him. Tonight, he looked… humbled.
Malcolm scoffed under his breath. “How dare he show his face here after what happened just a few hours ago." he muttered. “Shouldn’t he be in a hospital or something?”
Julie shook her head slightly. “That wouldn’t be a good look for him either.”
Silver exhaled. “I’m sure he wouldn’t want to ruin his reputation at an event like this.”
Malcolm forced a chuckle, though it sounded hollow. “Yeah… sure." he said, nervousness creeping into his voice. “Still, I wonder where he is.”
They didn’t have to say the name, they understood.
The tension thickened, pressing down on them. They all felt it within, whatever they knew about Robert before was outdated now, something had changed and it was dangerous.
Tracy suddenly stiffened. “Uh… Malcolm." she said quietly.
“What?”
“He’s coming this way.”
Azeez approached them, slow and cautious. If this had been any other night, Malcolm and the girls wouldn’t have spared him a glance. Tonight was different.
When Azeez reached them, he extended his hand.
Malcolm hesitated.
Then, to his own surprise, he shook it.
Azeez turned to Tracy, Julie, and Silver. He offered a small, restrained smile. They nodded back silently. There was an unspoken understanding between them now.
They all shared the same enemy and had the same fear.
“How are you guys enjoying the event?” Azeez asked.
Malcolm cleared his throat. “Well… as you can see, nothing much apart from drinks and introductions.”
Azeez nodded. “Yeah… right.”
There was a brief pause. He shifted slightly, his eyes scanned around the room before settling back on them.
“Have you… happened to see Robert anywhere tonight?”
Tracy took a sip of champagne and immediately spat it out.
She raised her napkin quickly, coughing as a few nearby guests turned to look at her. “Sorry." she muttered, waving it off.
Azeez frowned. “Did I say something wrong?”
Julie tilted her head. “The way you’re calling his name so casually after he beat you and twenty-five others without even trying… It’s funny.”
Azeez smirked faintly. “Yeah." he said, glancing at her. “Like he didn’t smack your boyfriend’s ass across the floor.”
The smile vanished from Julie’s face instantly.
Malcolm’s fingers tightened around his glass until his knuckles whitened. For a second, it looked like he might throw it at Azeez.
Azeez raised both hands slightly. “Relax. I’m not here for trouble." he said. His voice dropped. “I’m sure you all have the same thought I do.”
They waited for him to continue.
“Robert is dangerous.”
Malcolm exchanged looks with the women and Silver gave a subtle nod.
“Yeah." Malcolm finally said. “You’re right.”
Silver spoke next. “He was a poor orphanage brat back in school. Seeing him with a custom Ferrari SF90—one of one—isn’t just abnormal. It’s insane.”
Azeez nodded slowly. “That’s why I came to you. I thought maybe you’d know something.” He hesitated. “He used to be my tenant.”
That caught their attention.
“The kid barely had enough strength to lift a brick." Azeez continued. “Now he’s doing things that don’t make sense. It’s like he’s wielding some kind of… power.”
Malcolm straightened. He’d heard the rumors too of the stories that sounded impossible.
Julie noticed the shift in his posture. “Is everything okay?” she asked.
Malcolm exhaled. “Just thinking." he said. “You’ve all heard the stories… about the twelve families that rule the world, right?”
Julie nodded slowly. “I’ve seen a few things online. People say they have influence… power, stuff like that.”
“So what you’re saying." Julie added carefully, “is that he could be connected to them?”
“That’s impossible." Silver cut in quickly. “It doesn’t make sense. Why would someone like him belong there?”
“Maybe it’s all just a show." she continued. “What if the car was fake?”
Azeez looked at her. “And what about the strength?”
Silver hesitated. “It could be a coincidence." she said. “Like lightning striking at the right moment and maybe we’re overthinking it.”
No one argued.
Malcolm took a slow breath. He knew Silver was trying to calm them—but deep down, none of them believed her.
Something wasn’t right.
And whatever it was, it was about to reveal itself.
Up on a balcony, Professor Darby watched them. He didn't care about the stage. He was watching Malcolm and Azeez talk. He knew they were terrified of Robert.
As the professor watched, two big security guards in black suits walked up to him.

CHAPTER 101: Dining with the Graham's
The silverware was clinking, and everyone was talking in that low, happy way you do when the food is so good that it actually calms you down. For a while, nobody said much— they were all just busy experiencing a meal that most people only see in movies.Anna wasn’t the type to sit in silence for long, though. She dropped her fork after a massive bite of steak and just shook her head. "Okay," she said, looking dead serious. "This has to be illegal. Seriously, someone should be in jail for making a steak this good. There should be laws against this."Robert turned to her looking half amused. "Illegal?"Avery chuckled softly beside her.Professor Darby smiled politely while cutting another piece of lamb.Rose ate quietly, still taking everything in— the room, the food, the fact that the boy she had raised was the heir to the most powerful family on earth.Anna took another bite and leaned back again."Yeah," Anna said, pointing her fork at him like she was making a legal argument. "It ju
CHAPTER 100: The Table of a Trillionaire
When the doors opened, Anna actually stopped breathing. It wasn't on purpose, she gasped and her lungs just seemed to stall out.“...Oh my God,” she whispered.Avery, Rose, and the Professor were right behind her, and they all had that same reaction of silence. It was that heavy kind of quiet you get when your brain is trying to make sense of something it wasn't built to process. The dining hall was massive— easily the size of a cathedral— with a dome ceiling fifty feet up covered in gold leaf murals, kings and leaders placing down their crowns and bowing before a single throne. Huge diamond chandeliers hung down like frozen waterfalls, and the polished black marble floor was so clean it looked like a mirror. But the real showstopper was the table. It was a single, fifty foot slab of black obsidian with gold designs that stretched almost the whole length of the hall.“That table has to be forty feet long,” Anna muttered.“Fifty,” Professor Darby corrected softly, squinting through hi
CHAPTER 99: A Stage Fit for Kings
The Ocean Gallery started to fade behind them as they followed the butler down yet another long corridor. Anna was still looking over her shoulder every few seconds.“I’m definitely going to be dreaming about that whale shark tonight,” she muttered.Avery laughed. “You’re acting like we just stepped onto another planet.”“It felt like one,” Anna shot back.Professor Darby was still shaking his head as he walked. “In forty years of studying history,” he said quietly, “I never imagined I’d just casually stroll past artifacts that national museums would literally start wars over.”Rose had a faint smile on her face, but the look in her eyes showed she was just as amazed. “This doesn't even feel like a house anymore. It’s more like another world.”The butler slowed down a bit and turned back to face them. “If I may ask... do you all enjoy music?”Anna blinked, caught off guard. “Music?”“Classical, perhaps? Orchestral? The opera?”Avery’s face lit up immediately. “Actually, yeah. I love i
CHAPTER 98: A Palace Beyond Imagination
The butler led them down a long hallway lined with polished marble and soft golden lighting. Even the air in this part of the Oasis felt different— cooler, quieter, almost sacred.Anna kept glancing left and right like someone walking through a museum they weren’t supposed to be in.“This place just keeps getting bigger,” she muttered.Avery laughed softly. “You’re acting like a kid in a theme park.”“I feel like one,” Anna said immediately. “I thought the medical wing was impressive, but this… this feels like something out of a movie.”The butler stopped in front of a pair of tall elevator doors made entirely of brushed silver.“If you would all step inside,” he said politely. The doors opened silently. The interior of the elevator was larger than some hotel rooms. Soft lights ran along the walls, and the floor was made of a single piece of polished black stone.Professor Darby stepped inside slowly, adjusting his glasses as he looked around.“This elevator alone probably costs more
CHAPTER 97: The Weight of the Throne
The hallway outside the medical wing was quiet, but it didn't feel empty. Guards in dark suits were posted every few yards, blending into the shadows cast by the marble walls. The gold trim along the floor caught the soft overhead light, tracing long, expensive lines down the corridor.Abram led the way with Robert walking right beside him. They didn't say much at first, their footsteps the only sound echoing off the polished stone as they headed for the massive gold railed staircase.“Do you actually trust them?” Abram asked eventually.Robert knew his father wasn't one for small talk, so he didn't have to ask who he was talking about. “Avery? Yeah, I do.”“And her father?”They started up the stairs together.“Avery is a good person,” Robert said, keeping his voice steady.Abram glanced over at him. “Good people can still cause problems, Robert.”“Not her,” Robert said with a half smile. “She’s still figuring out how our world works. Honestly, she doesn't seem to care about the fami
CHAPTER 96: An Invitation from a Titan
Abram Graham’s gaze shifted away from his son and rested directly on Rose. It wasn’t a sharp look, and it wasn't cold, but it was incredibly measured. It was the kind of look a man gives when he has built global empires from the ground up and is now carefully examining the foundation that shaped his only heir.“Oh,” he said, his voice deep, calm, and perfectly composed. “So, you’re Rose.”It wasn’t a question. He already knew everything about her.Rose felt her heart nearly stop in her chest. Her fingers tightened against the soft bedsheets for a split second before she forced herself to sit upright. Despite Anna reaching out to stop her, Rose swung her legs over the side of the bed, stood up, and lowered her head in a deep, shaking bow.“Mr. Graham…” Her voice was trembling so much she could barely get the words out. “It is such an honor, sir— ”“Get up.”The words weren't harsh or mean, but they carried a weight that made the air in the room feel heavy. Rose froze instantly.Abram
