She couldn’t say anything the instant her eyes stuck to the scanner screen. Everything stared back at her in bold, glowing letters—Jeruel’s photo shining clearly beside the details.

“Jeruel Sinclair — CEO, Jeruel Fashion HUB.”

The scanner even displayed a rotating 3D model of the company’s main headquarters in Jamaica. This couldn’t be fake. The woman standing confidently before her—this very Jeruel—was exactly who she claimed to be. No lies. No compromise.

But if that was true… then what on earth was she doing with someone like Lucas?

Behind her, her team craned their necks to get a glimpse of the screen. If the scanner had been in anyone else’s hand, they would’ve snatched it without hesitation. But it was in Isla’s grasp, and they couldn’t risk overstepping boundaries. They needed their jobs.

So they composed themselves, stood quietly, and leaned in as far as they dared.

“Get out of the way, you pervert!” Isla yelled from her driving seat, slamming her palm against the horn as if it were the source of her rage. Her eyes were bloodshot, swollen from hours of crying, as though she had been diagnosed with some fatal disease. She had cried her eyes dry while speeding home, but now she was stuck—caught in a traffic jam that didn’t seem to move an inch. She banged her fists against the wheel, hitting it so hard as though she wanted to imprint her face on the leather. She hated herself. She hated the world. She hated anyone who dared to overtake her car, even in traffic. She cursed at strangers as if their mere existence was a crime.“Why me?” she whispered hoarsely, though her voice broke and cracked with every word. Lucas’ words replayed in her mind, mercilessly echoing like a stuck record she couldn’t turn off.“I was the anonymous donor.”The sentence clawed through her chest, rattling her bones. She closed her eyes and snapped them open again, her breat

  • Chapter Sixty One The Face Slap

On another day, Isla wouldn’t have received such a comment with goodwill. Especially not when it came from someone she once considered a nobody like Lucas Wren—the same man she left standing in humiliation at the altar. To her, he had been nothing more than trash she could easily discard. But today was different. Lucas was no longer a Wren. He was Lucas Virellis—the heir of the powerful Virellon Group. And in that moment, his presence carried a weight Isla couldn’t ignore. Even if he spat insults at her, even if he called her father a bastard to her face, she would accept it in silence. She had no choice.“I know,” she murmured, her voice faint, almost trembling. She accepted whatever name Lucas branded her with.Lucas studied her in disbelief. He couldn’t imagine how low she was willing to stoop just to claw her way back into his life. Was this really the same proud Isla Quinn who once looked down on him?If all he did was call her a fool, then he would be lying—because in truth, wha

  • Chapter Sixty Confession

Isla saw the look on Lucas, the way his brow furrowed, the way his eyes burned with hatred, and how obvious it was that he didn’t want her anywhere near him. That expression alone was enough to pierce her, but she understood exactly what it meant.Still, when it came to her plan, there was no room for retreat. She could not back down now. The strategy she carried in her heart was too important. She must go on with it, no matter the cost. She was determined to bring her father down and dismantle the Virelli family from the inside out. Only then would her own family, the Quinns, rise above them.Even though this was an exclusive event where appearances mattered more than anything else, Isla didn’t care. She was willing to shock everyone if it meant progress toward her goal.To ensure their plan succeeded, she was prepared to humiliate herself publicly. If it meant going on her knees before Lucas, begging in front of the most powerful families present, she would do it.Her voice cracked
