Chapter 16: Blood Oath

The rain poured like bullets from the heavens as Jaxon stood outside a run-down warehouse on the outskirts of the city.

Inside, twelve heavily armed men waited — all mercenaries for hire. Each one ex-military. Ruthless. Efficient.

Jaxon walked in with no backup, no hesitation.

The first man raised his gun. "You lost, buddy?"

Jaxon didn’t answer. His foot swept forward, striking the steel pipe leaning against the wall.

It flew across the air — smashing straight into the man’s temple with a sickening crack.

Bang! Bang!

The others opened fire instantly.

But Jaxon was gone — vanished like a shadow.

He slid across the floor, ducking under gunfire, grabbing a table leg and flipping it into the air. It slammed against another man's knees, and Jaxon used the rebound to leap forward — elbow to jaw. Bone sh

Chapter 20 The air turned colder. The wind seemed to freeze as the man stepped from the armored vehicle, flanked by six men in white—Syndicate specialists. Their eyes were hidden behind black visors. Their guns were aimed. Their bodies, still. Waiting for his word. Jaxon stared at the man in the sleek black suit with the scar that ran from brow to cheek. His heartbeat slowed… then thundered again. “…Kieran.” The name left his lips like a curse. Lillian looked between them, stunned. “That’s your…?” “My older brother,” Jaxon said, voice like steel. “The one who died. Or so I thought.” Kieran smiled. “It’s been a long time, little dragon.” Five Years Ago – Black Sun Program Archive, Classified Memory Jaxon stood over a mountain of bodies, breath ragged. His

Chapter 19 The Syndicate’s elite emerged from the smoke like wraiths. Twelve men in white tactical suits. No names. No insignias. Just death in human form. Their leader stepped forward — tall, angular face, piercing green eyes that didn’t blink. He wore no mask. Only a sleek earpiece and an expression carved from stone. "You’ve made too much noise, Jaxon Lin," he said coldly. "The Council is done waiting. Tonight, you die." Jaxon didn’t flinch. He rolled his shoulders slowly, blood dripping from his temple. His shirt was half-burnt. One boot torn. But his eyes? Still burning with dragon fire. "Send your best. Let’s see who dies first." The leader snapped his fingers. They attacked all at once. Two came from the left with curved daggers aimed for his throat. Another dove from above with a spinning heel kick.

Chapter 18: The Dragon Breaks the Cage BOOM! The steel vault door finally buckled under the force of the S.W.A.T. breaching charge. Smoke and gas spilled out as the elite team stormed in, their rifles raised, shouting commands. But inside the vault, what they found made them freeze. Jaxon Lin stood shirtless, bruised and blood-soaked, holding an unconscious Mira in his arms. His eyes met the lead officer’s. Sharp. Cold. Unforgiving. "You’re late," Jaxon said, walking out past them like a war god emerging from the smoke. Lillian stood at the hallway's edge. When she saw him, her breath caught. This was not the quiet, obedient man she married. This was someone else. Someone terrifying. "Jaxon—" But he walked past her without a word, laying Mira gently on a stretcher. The medics moved fast.

  • Death Has No Shadow

Chapter 17: Death Has No Shadow The blacked-out SUV screeched to a halt outside a dilapidated factory on the riverbank. It was 2:14 a.m. and the moon glared down like a watchful eye. The building was abandoned—at least, that’s what they wanted people to think. Jaxon Lin stepped out, dressed in tactical black. His shirt clung to his sculpted form, soaked slightly from the night mist, and a combat knife was strapped to his thigh. Twin pistols holstered on either side. He was no longer the weak, ridiculed son-in-law. Tonight, the Ghost Monarch returned. Inside the building, forty armed men waited. Red Fang had expected him. And that was fine. Because Jaxon had come to paint the walls with fear. He moved like a whisper through the side alley, disabling a sentry with a pressure point jab. No sound. The man dropped like dead weight. Jaxon dragged him into the shadows an

Chapter 15: The Flame Remembers Location: Holding Site Delta – Lower Levels Fire licked the edges of the metal walls as alarms shrieked across the ruined corridors. Jaxon crouched low in front of Mira, shielding her with his body. Ivy stood just behind, gun drawn, scanning the shadows for movement. “I triggered something,” Mira said softly. Her voice was calm, too calm. “They’re coming.” “We know,” Jaxon replied, pressing his hand to the floor. “They dropped a whole hit squad.” “Not for me,” Mira whispered. “For you.” Over the comms, Zhao’s voice crackled in Jaxon’s ear. “Thirty hostiles inside the compound. Another twenty en route. You’ve got seven minutes before they seal the exits.” Jaxon stood. “We’re moving. Ivy—watch Mira. Mira, stay close to me.” Mira didn’t flinch, but when she followed, her bare feet left soot where they stepped. —
