Chapter 3 - Loser

Cephas and Violet walk out of the divorce court after finalizing their divorce case.

He was so sad to let Violet go but she didn’t want him anymore. There was nothing he could do about it.

He had been begging her but she fell on deaf ears.

He had even explained that he was expecting some money. She told him to move on with his life.

She was done with him!

“I hope women are wise enough to stay away from a broke man like you so their lives won’t be miserable.” She said scornfully to him.

“Are you saying your life with me was miserable? When I gave you all you asked for?”

“Getting me bags and shoes that were out of season isn’t living miserably? See why you don’t deserve to have any woman in your life,”

She sized him from head to toe. “I made a terrible mistake marrying you. Hopefully no one else does the same. Take a look at all I wore today, kade bought them for me.”

“I have bought more things for you, would it kill you if you tried to be satisfied with what I got you?”

“Satisfied with the rags you used to get for me? I forbid it. I have found a man that can offer me better things. He can offer you a job if you don’t mind.”

“I don’t need a job from him. Take care.”

“You sure? Oh, my baby is here.” She pointed at Kade and walked away from him.

He watched her jump on Kade, her boyfriend carelessly. She was rubbing her new relationship in his face.

“Finally, I am free from the shackles of staying married to a broke man,” She exclaimed happily.

She planted a passionate kiss on his face in front of everyone. They had not even digested the news of their divorce.

She was back with another man, letting him run his mouth over hers. He could not stop staring at her actions.

The wedding band he gave her came flying at him, she had thrown it to signify that she no longer wanted anything to do with him.

Her boyfriend walked her down the stairs in front of the law court to his shining mercedes benz that stood gallantly before them.

Just before he could open the door for Violet to get in, a Lamborghini drove on its highest speed and rammed into the Mercedes benz.

The benz got thrashed and damaged. Kade’s face turned red seeing the state of his car.

He was angry because he had just purchased the car before coming to pick Violet up and he spent a lot of money on it.

He wanted to show her that he was better than her good for nothing husband.

Everyone turned to look at the driver behind the Lamborghini wheels while they silently whispered.

“Who’s that in the lamborghini?”

“Is that not Lord Kade?”

“They just bashed Lord Kade’s Mercedes Benz, does that not cost a lot?”

“The Lamborghini is even more expensive. The owner of the car must be rich to have driven that car recklessly.”

The Driver of the Lamborghini threw the door open and everyone gasped.

A lady came out wearing a pair of sky blue pants and blazer and a pure white camisole with expensive black stilettos to match and a pair of designer shades.

She ran towards Cephas and pulled him in for a warm embrace. “Brother, I had lost the best person but now I have found you.” She whispered to him.

“You have had quite enough of these, we should go home. let’s go,” She pulled away from the hug and held his hand.

Just when they proceeded to the Lamborghini, Violet screamed.

“Wait there Cephas!” Cephas and his sister stopped in their tracks and they turned to face her.

“Do you think I can’t see through your teeth?” She glared at him.

“What is she saying?” Sarah asked her brother, Cephas shrugged in response.

“You brought an actress to come and pretend to be your new woman, right? You can’t get me back with your cheap schemes.”

“I don’t understand you, Ms Violet.” Cephas replied to her. “Why would I try to get you back when you have divorced me and you are with your boyfriend.”

“The whole world knows how obsessed you are with me. I am just telling you that your tactics can’t work out.”

“I am not throwing any tactics out, Ms. Violet. I have tried my best to beg you and get you to not divorce me but you called it quits.” He stopped to place his legs on the same stair.

“You can only force a horse to the river, you can’t force it to drink water. I can’t force to stay with me.”

“Then why did you come with a woman to cause a scene here?”

“I didn't think that the presence of the beautiful woman here would make you so uncomfortable, Ms Aurora.” As soon Cephas talked, Sarsh held onto her brother in a very open manner so as to trigger Violet.

It worked.

“Of course people like you are very shameless. Begging me not to divorce you and showing up with some other woman at the court.”

“As you should know, you are not the only one that is allowed to move on. I have my rights too.”

“I suggest that you should focus on your new boyfriend so he doesn’t get jealous,” Sarah advised.

“What do you know?” Violet asked Sarah angrily. “I will advise you to keep quiet because you will still pay for the vehicle you damaged.”

“Babe, can they afford it?'' Kade asked Violet. “It’s the latest model.”

“I don’t think so, I think they even rented the lamborghini so they can show off to us. People like them are so fake”

“Should we call the police or something to arrest the poor people?”

“Don’t go through that stress. Poor and wretched people like them should not bother you.”

“How much will it cost to fix the car?” Sarah asked.

“We know your mission here is to make me feel jealous in which you have failed. FYI, we don’t need your dirty money to fix our car.” Violet boasted.

“I see.” Sarah trailed off.

“No one is trying to make you feel jealous. Lord knows why you are so triggered.”

“What do you mean she is triggered?” Kade said in her defense. “Poor men like you don’t get to judge women.”

“Excuse me?”

“Yes, you heard me right. I have watched you give her less treatments than she deserves, now you are saying she’s triggered. She has every right to be.”

“Honey, you don’t need to talk to him, he is a big loser,” Violet said .

“I can see that. It shows from the way he talks. I pity this woman that she’s with him.”

“They are both scammers, honey. I am sure they just want some money from us.”

“We don’t need your money!” Sarah retorted. “Who needs money from cheapskates like you?”

“You are not even wearing clothes from this season and you are calling me a cheapskate. Cephas rented some old clothes for you, right?”

“Ludas Vatton made custom made pants and blazers for me, you should look it up on the internet. There is no other one on the market. Do your research well.” Sarah fired at her.

“Look babe, let's just go,” Kade held onto Violet’s shoulder. “He is just trying to use this opportunity to trap you.”

“You are right, let’s go!” Violet replied.
