Lucian leapt away and found himself at his in-laws' house. He stood in front of the large gate and looked up at the sky. He spaced out. Lots of things were going on in his mind. He was so lost in thought that he didn't realize how long he had been standing there.
"Welcome, sir." The gateman, who was stationed at the gate, greeted him and opened it, inviting him inside.
"Thank you, Charles." He told the old man, looking pleased.
A commotion in the house made Lucian whip his head towards the sound. He walked swiftly and majestically, just like the prince he was. His heart was pounding loudly in his ribcage. What could have gone wrong? The sound he was hearing was too loud, so he teleported himself inside the house.
His eyes widened at what he saw. He never anticipated this. "How come?" he questioned himself internally.
"Uncle, he's the one who did this to me. Ahh!" Muna winced in pain. She turned restlessly in her bed. "It hurts," came her feminine voice.
Lucian couldn't bear seeing Muna in pain, even though she had no respect for him. He wanted to go and help her, as she had bruises all over her body. But a part of him was stopping him.
"Who is the person?" Mr Reign asked his niece, worried about her well-being. He looked like someone who would slaughter whoever had done this to his sweet niece. He was raging inside. "I asked you a question. Who did this to you, Muna?"
"Him," Muna answered. Everybody turned towards where her index finger was pointing. They all stood frozen in their spots.
"Lucian! Don't tell me you did this to my niece!" Mr Reign yelled at Lucian angrily.
Lucian didn't say a word. He didn't move or budge from his position. He was totally in disbelief. In his thousands of years of existence, no one had ever accused him wrongly, and now...
"I asked you a question, Lucian!" Mr Reign was now standing in front of him.
"I didn't hurt her, father-in-law," Lucian told him plainly. He looked directly into his forest-green eyes, a colour the Reigns had in common.
"I promise I didn't do anything to ha—" Lucian's statement was immediately cut short as Mr Reign slapped him so hard that his five fingers were visible on his face.
Lucian didn't expect the slap since he hadn't finished explaining himself. It pained him that he couldn't do anything to stop him. He held his cheek in pain, still bending in that pitiful position. A tear dropped from his eyes. His heart squeezed with both pain and agony.
"You are a disgrace to manhood. You idiot," Mr Reign spat at Lucian.
"Dad!" Aria yelled at her father. "What's with all this? How sure are you that he's the one who did this? I thought you were the type who would investigate pressing matters before coming to a conclusion."
Aria shook her head in utter disbelief. "It looks like I was wrong in judging you, father." Aria rambled on and on.
"Watch your tone, Aria!" Her mother shouted behind her.
Aria turned and met her mother's burning gaze. "Mum, I said nothing wrong here," she said firmly, not caring that her mother was fuming with rage.
"Will you talk to us, your family, in such a manner because of this despicable fool?" she said, pointing at Lucian, who stood rooted to his spot.
"Mum, please don't call him that. He's not one, and he never will be. I think you should ask Muna to tell you guys the truth."
"Are you insinuating that Muna is lying, Aria?"
"I never said so, Mum. Since I have been with Lucian, he has never raised his voice at me, nor has he raised his hands against me. So I won't believe it if Muna says that Lucian hurt her this badly," Aria stated, giving her family her reasons.
"I will never believe that he's not the one who gave her those bruises," Elle said pitifully, looking at Muna, who lay on the bed.
"But, Mum—"
"I will tell you all the truth," Muna cut Aria short. "The truth is that I ventured into the forest when Lucian left the house, and I was shocked to find him there too. Then..." She suddenly trailed off without completing her statement.
"Then what?" Aria questioned.
"Then he suddenly attacked me and beat me to a pulp," she completed.
"Liar!" Lucian's deep voice resonated in the room. "I didn't encounter anybody in the woods except for Aria, but she later left. The only other person I encountered was a werewolf..." The last statement was barely a whisper as he looked closely into Muna's eyes. They were the same forest-green colour as the wolf's eyes. 'Is she a werewolf?' he thought to himself. No, come on, Lucian. Don't be ridiculous right now. He nudged himself and shook off the thought that was bothering him.
"Did you hear him now, everyone?" Aria asked. She looked at their faces one after the other as if searching for something to pinpoint.
"That's enough."
"Ahh!" Muna groaned loudly, drawing their attention towards her.
Elle rushed to her and spoke. "Don't worry, the doctor is on his way." She glanced at the wall clock and said, "I don't know why he's taking so long to come," Elle complained bitterly.
"Let me treat her," Lucian volunteered.
"That won't be of any use. We don't need any more harm to come to her. Go and use your treatment on others so that you can stop depending on us for everything," Elle charged at Lucian.
"Alright, I won't treat her," he responded after sighing glumly, looking away as if to hide the expression on his face.
Elle paced back and forth in the room, patiently waiting for the doctor to arrive. But this doctor was taking too long.
"It hurts!" Muna groaned loudly this time, clearly in serious pain. She was even crying. "Aunty, I can't bear this pain any further. It hurts so badly. Ahhh!"
"It's okay. Just calm down. I'm sure the doctor will be here in less than fifteen minutes," Elle told her, massaging her palm as if to soothe her pain.
"I can't, Auntie."
"Okay, fine. Can you treat her now?" Elle said.
Meanwhile, Lucian, on the other side, didn't move. He leaned against the door and stared at his mother-in-law. He was waiting for her to say the word 'please'. If she didn't say it, he was sure he wouldn't help Muna, even if he were a selfless person.
"Can't you help someone who's in a critical situation?" Muna said through gritted teeth. This man was really pushing her to the edge.
"Please, just help her, Lucian," Aria pleaded with him, batting her eyelids.
"I want her to say the word 'please' before I proceed with treating her," he told Aria. He wanted to help Muna because of her request, but then again, he also wanted Muna to beg him.
"Please, just help me!" Muna yelled at him.
"Don't raise your voice at my husband. How dare you?"
"Your husband? You have already signed the divorce papers, Aria. Remember?" her father reminded her.
"Divorce? Did you sign the divorce papers?"

I'm sure you will help the Birla family with it when the time comes."Mr Reign's face turned sour after hearing what Lawrence said. Is this man crazy? He can't help him with the dragon."I know it might be hard for you, but please consider this the first favour I will be asking of the Reign family since we got to know each other. I know you won't fail me. Am I right?" Lawrence told him firmly."Alright, since you need a dragon, I will help with it, but definitely not Violent. I will give you the others," Mr Reign said.Mr Reign continued, explaining his reasons to Lawrence. "Look at that. We thought the poor thing had gone into hiding."Lucian no longer felt hurt by the harsh words Elle was throwing at him.The laughter and chatter that once filled the hall died down instantly the moment Lucian stepped foot into the Reign mansion. Everyone's eyes narrowed at him suspiciously.Lucian stood rigid. He had come to talk to the Reign family for the last time before his departure to Aurelia."I just came here for the last time. This will be my last time setting foot in this house," Lucian informed them, looking at each one of them with an emotionless face."Oh, that's nice. You have actually made the right decision once in your lifetime. You should get going already," Mr Reign said slyly, turning towards Lucian."You're right. I have made the right decision. A decision I should have made a very long time ago," Lucian answered with a smirk.Mr Reign's face darkened. His eyes narrowed as he sensed the authority in Lucian's tone."Then what are you still doing her

He would have sworn with his entire being that she wouldn't do this.Standing on the last step, Lucian contemplated turning away and heading back to his room, but before he could react, Elle was standing in front of him."Oh, why are you running away? Are you afraid that the guest might laugh at your disgusting and poor outfit?" Elle sneered.Lucian gritted his teeth in frustration. He had come to the conclusion that he now hated Elle to the core, but he was too tired to argue with her. Remaining silent, he endured her taunts.Elle observed his lack of response but still continued."Why are you suddenly playing dumb? You're the type who challenges others. What happened? Did a cat cut your tongue?" Elle questioned him mockingly. She looked at her daughter, then returned her gaze to Lucian."Why are you staring at Aria like that? I can sm

Chapter 5 I will bear the consequences
Lucian looked at his Aria with confusion. He never thought Aria would sign the divorce papers after everything they had been through together. Never in his wildest dreams had he anticipated that she would be easily fooled by her family into divorcing him."Lucian, I... I..." Aria swallowed hard. She wasn't able to explain to him why she had taken such a drastic step because she feared he wouldn't be able to accept it. Nevertheless, she needed to let him know why she had signed the papers."Actually, Lucian..." Her voice was low as she began explaining to him that her dad had made a promise. "Dad has secured our child's future. He said that if I don't divorce you, he won't assist us. He has secured our child's future.""Are you listening to yourself, Aria? Who told you that I can't take care of our child? Have you also been seeing me as a poor, useless guy?""No, Lucian. You're getting it all wrong. It's not what you're thinking.""Then make me understand!" Lucian's voice reverberated
