The In-laws Regret

Chapter 10

Ryan looked at his son. He was not expecting something like this from him? He was going to go back? There was no way that he was going to let him go back. It would mean that all of the plans that he had were going to come crashing. He did not want that to happen. He had planned so much for this. After spending two years abroad Nelson was really starting to get impulsive after spending two years abroad. . He would never say this to him before. He knew that he too had to toughen up and give him a warning.

"You want to leave? All right. . . go I won't try to stop you. I won't try to stop you from leaving this place but know that immediately you step out of this house. . . you are no longer my son! You should no longer expect anything from me if you decide to leave this place" Ryan warned. Actually he was playing a gamble. What if he got even more impulsive and decided that he was going to leave? He threatened him with disowning but what if he really left? What will happen then? He did not want to think about it. He just knew that he had to get this son to stay.

Nelson looked at his father. He was shocked when he heard that he was going to disown him. For a second he thought that he should just let him do whatever he want. . he did not want to go back to that school and have to see those people ever again. But then he thought about it again. What is he going to do if his father really let's go of him? He knew that the man could be really scary at times! If he left. . h won't even be able to get out of the country!.

Nelson looked at his father. "Dad am I really your son? How can you say that you are going to disown me just like that? Just because I said that I am not going to go-to some school? Dad. . . . how can you even do this to me? Is that why you asked me to come back?! Am I really just a tool for you?!" Nelson asked. This was the reality of the MK group's owner that everyone was jealous of. This was the reality of the son of MK group that everyone wanted to get close to. The reality was that. . . he was only a pawn for his father.

Rita looked from her husband to her son. Even though she was not his birth mother. . . she knew. . just how much this kid that suffered. He has been through so much for his age. She knew. . . why he did not want to go back to that school. He was pretty sure that his father knew too. . but he just decided not to care about his feelings. She looked at him pitifully. . . other people might be envious but she knew. . . . just how much he was going through. Did he really have to suffer so much?

However, Rita knew that she could not take Nelson's side. No matter what happened anyway Nelson was going to end up doing whatever his father wanted. All that she could do right now was to try and ease the tension between them. That was the safest bet. "Do the both of you really have to go this far? Do you really have to talk to each other when you are in such a bad mood? You should have this conversation tomorrow. Then you won't be so agitated" Rita said. Deep down. . . she knew that she was only trying to prolong it. It was still going to come down to arguing.

"What do you mean by leave him alone till tommorow? Heavens know what he is going to do if we let him be till that time! No I'm not going to do that. This is the reason why I asked him to come back home! He is my son! He is the one who is supposed to take over MK group. What do you think people are going to say if my son refuses to attend Viants High?! How is it going to look like? We have to make him go to that school!"

Ryan felt that his wife was doting on Nelson too much. Sometimes he got jealous of her. . no matter how much he tried. . he never had a good relationship with his son. It always ended with them fighting with each other. But his wife. . . since the day that she came home with him. . . Nelson loved her immediately. Maybe it was because he had always been missing his mother? He did not know. Ryan sighed. Maybe it was a good thing that his wife was close to him. At least one of them had a good relationship with their son.

Nelson looked at his father. The more he heard the man talking the more he thought that there was something fishy going on. He felt that there was something else to him attending Viants High. It was just not about the school or putting on a good show for other people. He knew that his father was a sly man. He was always thinking of plots. . . Nelson was afraid that he was about to be part of a much bigger plot. Something came into his mind. His father had done something like this before in the past. Was he trying to do that again?

"Dad. . . what really of going on? I know that this is not just about me going to Viants High. I have been out of the country for two years now and you were not worried about what people would think if i do not go to Viants High. I can just continue my school abroad and graduate college! Why do I have to come back? I know that you are planning something dad. What really are you planning? What do you want to do?" Nelson asked. He did not want to accept it but somehow his guys were telling him that it had something to do with Raechel. His father did not give up that stupid and crazy idea after two years?!

Ryan looked at his son. He did not know what to say. Could it be that he already figured out what he was going to do? But how did he know that? Ryan shook his head. It did not matter how he came to know of it. . if he already knew what was going to happen then it was fine. It was even better for him. It meant that he won't waste time trying to explain to him again what he wanted to know. Two years ago. . . he pretended as if he forget about it because he just wanted Nelson to forget about what happened and open a new chapter of his life that had nothing to do with that woman Vanessa. . . after two years. . . he was sure that Nelson doesn't even think about it anymore. . . so it was safe to bring up the topic right?

"You are quite smart. You've gotten smarter I see. You were able to figure it out. Actually you coming back. . it's not just about Viants High. You remember that your childhood friend Raechel is at Viants High right? Be nice to her when you meet her at school again. The both of you are going to get engaged" Ryan said with a smile on his face. He was really happy about it.

Raechel was having dinner with her her mother. No matter how arrogant she was. . . when she was in front of her mother. . . she was as harmless as a dove. For someone who was observing from a distance. . it seemed as Raechel was scared of her mother. Well she really can't be blamed. Esther. . . she really was a scary woman. She was someone who could burn a hole in you with her stare

Raechel's step father Philip was at the table too. But he knew better than to give his opinion when this mother daughter pair was involved. Esther was a really scary woman and it seemed as if she passed those traits to her daughter. She was only an eighteen years old teenager but an adult like him could never guess what was really going on in her mind. The result. . . he tried as much as possible to keep out of her way. Nothing good was going to come out of it anyway if he offended her. He just had to whatch his steps until she left for school.

Esther looked at her daughter. She had spent a lot of time and effort on the girl. When she divorced her father 10 years ago she could have just left her with her father and focus on building her company but she realized that this girl was going to be very useful to her in the future. The things that she could not do. . . the things that she could not achieve. . . she was going to use her daughter and make sure that she got them. Yes. . . the woman was this selfish. She did not mind using her daughter at all.

"Raechel. . . . " Esther called. The latter stopped eating and looked up at her immediately. Esther liked that. It meant that she had the girl under her control. "I think that you might have already heard that Nelson is back from abroad. And that he is going to start attending Viants High when school reopens again. You know what you have to do right?. You have to make sure that you get his heart. That way. . . you will be in full control of the company. Your cousins. . . no one will be able to challenge you when you take over the company!" Esther said.

Her family was actually quite complicated. When she divorced her husband she hired a team of lawyers and made sure that she got a good amount of his wealth. In the end. . . she was able to get a lot of money and a subsidiary of his company. She was able to get a fashion company. It was not quite big anyway and so his brothers did not mind when she took it. But then with the money that she got from them in less that a year she was able to make the small fashion company into a really big one. Suddenly. . . they wanted the company back. They even tried to threaten her by saying that they will take custody of Raechel but she did not care. She held on to the company. Even though she was still in control. . . she knew that the war was never going to end. They could not fight against her now but what about when Raechel took the company? They had children. . . they were certainly going to bother her daughter and take away all of her hard work. She knew that she had to be prepared. To make sure that they won't ever try to get that company back she knew that she had to have the backing of a big company. And that company was MK group. . she already talked with Ryan and decided that Raechel and Nelson were going to get engaged now and get married in the future. . . for the sake of their companies. For some reason. . . Ryan seemed to need her company. But for Esther. . . a promise of marriage was not good enough. Raechel needed to get Nelson to fall in love with her. She had seen Nelson a few times and she knew. . . that he was a really emotional person. Once he fell in love with someone. . . he would do anything for that person. Once Raechel gets him to fall for her. . . their influence would have no limit. She would finally be able to trample on that family that tried to take her company!

Raechel sighed. She knew exactly what her mother was talking about. She had to get Nelson to fall in love with her. He was already back and she knew that she had to do it now. It was what she had always wanted. . . she had been preparing for some time now. . . two years now to be exact. . but now that she was going to do it. . . was that indecisiveness she was feeling? For someone reason. . . she thought of Mike. . . .
