Chapter 2

"Let go! You don't know who I am. I'm going to make your life miserable!" The man struggled to breath and still threatened Miles even though he was getting choked, but Miles didn't listen to him. He was ready to kill him.

"Just give up, Miles! Whatever you do can't make me get back to you. You don't deserve me! " Hearing Jessica's voice, Miles grip of the man's neck slowly loosened, and when he finally let go of his neck, he took a step back and clenched his fingers into a tight fist, enraged.

"I don't deserve you? Jessica, you are the most disgusting person I've ever met, and I regret ever crossing path with you," His eyes piercing into Jessica's, he uttered those words with pure disgust written on his face,"You are nothing but a disgusting shameless whore…"

"You are going to regret this... I'm going to make you two pay for this, and that's a promise." Miles uttered, picking his words one after the other.

"If you have enough money, you should work on getting your life upgraded. When you make some money, you can call me," Jessica winked at him, then held the man's hand and pouted her lips.

"Honey. Why don't we go inside and continue from where we stopped?" She uttered seductively before she walked back inside with the man, leaving Miles in the hallway.

Gathering the strength left in him, he managed to leave the hotel, then drove to his apartment and headed into his room, throwing himself on the bed.

Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Ashley Smith, his roommate walked in with a short towel wrapped around her chest, revealing her long and straight legs, her glowy skin, and finally her long hair which was let down her shoulders. She was the epitome of beauty. He gasped, sitting up on the bed with his eyes widened.

"Ashley, you are..."

"You pervert! What the heck are you doing here?" Ashley cut her off before he could say anything, her pair of brown eyes were narrowed as if they were going to fall out of their sockets, her long eyelashes batting continuously, and her long hands holding the towel tightly around her chest to prevent it from falling off.

"Are you kidding me? This is my room. I should ask you that. Why are you in my bathroom instead of..."

"Why are you here so early? My tap stopped working and I had to use your bathroom," Ashley stated, and that was when he recalled rushing out earlier to attend to that God forsaken client of his, forgetting to lock his door.

"How could you go into other people's room without..." Ashley walked out of the room and slammed the door closed before he could finish his statement, so he sighed and shook his head. How much more surprises were left to be unfolded? He asked himself, lying on the bed and staring up at the ceiling.

Suddenly, his phone beeped, and he groaned angrily as he sat up on the bed.

"It better not be some stupid part-time job. I'm not in the mood for it," he mumbled as he reached for his phone that was in his pocket.

He hesitated before he swiped the unlock button and clicked on the message he had just gotten, but he froze at the sight that welcomed him.

A credit alert of a hundred million dollars!

"Wh... what is this?" Miles stuttered, taking a close look at the alert displayed on the screen of his phone.

"Did someone mistakenly send this to me?" He mumbled as he slowly scrolled through the message, but his name was there as the beneficiary.

"Wait! Is that my name I'm seeing?" Even though it was so obvious, he had to blink his eyes to be sure his eyes weren't deceiving him, but they really weren't. His name was really displayed on the message!

Miles stepped out of the car that had just driven into the big compound of the mansion standing in front of him. The house was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and he was even awed by the number of cars parked in the garage. Even though he wanted to take his time to admire the place and check out what it looked like, he wasn't so settled to do that."This way, please," Bryant gestured toward the entrance door and started walking toward it immediately, so Ethan followed him, counting his steps nervously. His jaw dropped when he walked into the living room which looked like another planet on its own, but he was soon distracted by the number of men in black suits queued in the living room. Something he was just noticing."Welcome home, master," Again, they all stood up and bowed to him just like how those people did back at the prison."Wait here while I go call our boss," Bryant uttered and was about to walk away when a deep baritone voice sounded along the stairs."I've been

He couldn't just give up at this point in his life.'You are not the father of my child' Those words have been living rent-free in his head for the past two days since he has been here, wishing that it was a dream. He wished someone would tap him to wake up and maybe tell him that it was all a nightmare. 'How did I get here? How did everything suddenly go wrong? Why did she do it?' he asked himself as he hugged his knees to his chest, but his only crime was being poor. His only crime was not being able to afford the luxurious life she wanted, but he did his best. Until two days ago, he had done everything in his power to give her all the happiness she wanted. He tried to provide for her with the little he had, and all he wanted was to have a happy life together as one big family with the kids they would hav

Forget it," She rolled her eyes and continued what she was doing, regardless.Sonia was soon getting dressed, so she left her room. She was impressed when she walked inside the living room and the sweet aroma coming from the kitchen welcomed her."I trust your cooking so well... The aroma is everything," She closed her eyes and breathed in after she walked inside the dining room where she met Amelie setting the table."Whatever! The food is all ready now," Amelie announced as if she didn't see that the table was already set."But wait... Why are you all dressed up, girl?" Amelie was forced to ask after she scanned her with her eyes."I just got married, so I should look good," Was the only excuse she gave Ame

He looked like a student and he is not even...""Can you quit ranting, Amelie? You are going to make me sick if you keep being like this. Ugh! I feel like passing out," Sonia whined as she rubbed her fingers gently on her forehead while closing her eyes."It just doesn't make any sense to me, Sonia. You need to think about this again. You can't be married to that dude," Amelie insisted, and she sighed."What is there to think about again, Amelie? We are already married," Sonia just shrugged and rolled her eyes."It's not something to worry about, Amelie. I will handle things, ok? We are just married because of..." Why don't you sleep over? I have two rooms. You can make use of one of them...""Don't worry about...""Your house is still far from here and it's going to be difficult to get a cab at this time of the night.
