“Argh! Bastard!” Greg roared, wiping blood from his lip. “You think you can stop me? I’m taking this house today, and there’s not a damn thing any of you can do about it!”

Jaden didn’t flinch. His eyes narrowed as he raised one hand—then casually waved it.

BOOM!

A pulse of invisible force blasted from his palm, striking Greg square in the chest.

WHAM!

Greg was flung like a ragdoll, tumbling across the room, crashing into furniture, smashing through a chair, and slamming into the far wall with a heavy thud. The plaster cracked where his body hit. He groaned, sliding down to the floor in a heap.

Silence followed.

Mathew’s mouth hung open. He slowly stood up, eyes wide in disbelief.

“I… I can’t believe it. He’s not bluffing. He’s actually that strong…”

Jaden said again, slowly.

“Where’s the medicine I asked for?”

Greg let out a hoarse growl as he clutched his ribs, staggering to his feet.

“You’ll be sorry for this… it’s not over!” He pointed a trembling, bloodied finger at Jaden. “I’ll b

When the supervisor heard the name Morix Sable, his smug expression twisted—then morphed into open mockery. He sneered. “Morix? Please.”Jaden ignored him. Not a single glance. He calmly pulled out his phone and made the call like he was ordering lunch. The line clicked.“It’s me,” Jaden said coolly. “Morix, I’m outside your restaurant.”That name—that one name—sent the group off again like someone hit a laugh track.“Morix?” the supervisor barked, eyes wide with theatrical shock. “Oh, this is gold!”His underlings burst into loud, exaggerated laughter. One of them slapped the hood of a nearby car, wheezing. Another doubled over, clutching his sides.“He’s calling Mr. Sable now!” someone snorted. “What’s next? He runs this street too?”“Bet he’s his caddy on weekends,” another chimed in.Their voices overlapped, layered with mockery. The kind of forced noise that only sounded brave when the target didn’t hit back. But then—BAM!The restaurant’s office door exploded open.A large man

“Do you even know how much we charge for a single dish here?” The supervisor sneered, stepping closer. “One meal could run you over a hundred grand. You think this is some food court for peasants? People like you don’t belong here.”Selena’s face stiffened. She looked down for a second, lips pressed tight. Her entire savings account barely scraped past a hundred thousand. One meal here could wipe her out—and they hadn’t even sat down yet.She tugged at Jaden’s sleeve. “Forget it. Let’s just go somewhere else. There’s no point forcing it.”But Jaden didn’t budge.“No,” he said, voice steady. “Not walking away from this. It’s the first time I’m taking all of you out. We’re not settling for less.”The others exchanged looks. Even Vane, who’d been anxious from the moment they stepped out of the car, stayed quiet. Jaden’s tone wasn’t up for debate. Then Jaden stepped forward and looked the supervisor dead in the eye.“Get your boss. I want to speak to whoever’s in charge.”The men in suits

“This place looks insane, Selena,” Vane muttered, his voice tight with unease. “Fancy as hell. Bet it costs a bomb just to sit down.”Selena’s heels clicked against the pristine marble floor as she gave him a dry glance. “It is expensive. Even a basic dish here could run into five figures.” Her tone was cool, matter-of-fact. “This isn’t just a rich-people spot. It’s for the connected. If you don’t carry weight in this city, you don’t belong.”Nora let out a sharp breath, her eyes scanning the chandelier-lit lobby. “Jesus. That’s daylight robbery. We’d have to sell a kidney just to afford the starter. What are we doing here? Let’s not embarrass ourselves.” She said reaching for her husband's hand to drag him back.Jaden, standing a step ahead of them, turned with a calm smile. “Relax. You’re overthinking it. It’s just food. I said I’ve got the bill, didn’t I?”Vane glanced at him like he’d lost his mind. “Yeah, but there’s ‘I got the bill’ and then there’s ‘I’m burning a hole in my sou

Their thoughts were interrupted when Mia tugged at Jaden’s sleeve, her voice soft and tired. “Papa, I’m hungry. When can we eat? They had so much food on their tables earlier... It smelled so good.”She was referring to the lavish spread at Xander’s seventieth birthday banquet. The dining hall had overflowed with rich aromas and elegant plating. Wagyu beef seared to perfection, foie gras on golden toast points, towers of lobster, caviar in crystal bowls, and abalone arranged like art. It wasn’t just extravagant—it was intimidating. Each dish looked like it could devour an entire month’s salary. Some, maybe an entire year’s worth. For most families, it wasn’t food. It was a warning.Selena crouched beside her daughter, brushing back a strand of hair from Mia’s cheek. “Those meals are too expensive, sweetheart. Mama will make you something once we get home, alright?”But Jaden didn’t even glance at her. His eyes were still fixed on the entrance of the hall. “Why do you think we can’t af

Xander clinked glasses with a group of well-dressed guests, laughter spilling around the banquet hall like fine wine. His mood was light, arrogant, and unbothered—until Elias leaned in beside him.“Dad,” Elias muttered under his breath, “Vane and his family just left. No word. They looked... pissed.”Xander scoffed and waved him off. “Let them go. Who needs dead weight ruining the air?”“But—”“They gave me trash for a birthday present. A broken pill? What kind of mockery is that?” His voice dropped to a bitter growl. “That wasn’t a gift. That was a curse. Let them starve. I’d rather feed the leftovers to the strays out back.”He turned away, wine swirling in his glass, his smile returning as though the Thornfells had never existed.---Outside the hotel, the air was thick with resentment.Nora spun toward Jaden the moment they hit the parking lot. “Brilliant. That was your idea of a gift? That pathetic pill? You just painted a target on all our backs. Did you see the way they treated

Rage simmered beneath the surface of Vane’s face. His fists were clenched at his sides, knuckles pale. Nora looked like she was holding her breath, trying not to crack. Selena kept her chin high, though her arms tightened around Mia, pulling the child closer to her chest like a shield from the stares burning holes into them.Jaden stepped forward. He didn’t rush. He bent slowly, picked up the broken pill from the floor, and turned it over in his palm. The room fell quiet again, curious.“This tiny thing?” Jaden said evenly, voice low but sharp enough to cut through the buzz. “One day, when your pride’s been stripped and your bodies start failing you, you’ll remember this moment. And you’ll crawl for what you just tossed aside.”He met Williams' eyes. “That same mouth laughing now will be the one begging next.”Elias scoffed and waved a hand. “Come off it. A shattered pill? You trying to sell snake oil now?” He laughed, loud and mocking. “We’re not idiots. Keep that crap to yourself.”
