Jaden stood alone in the center of the room, his back straight, eyes burning like coals. All around him, Rafael’s men formed a loose circle, fingers twitching over their triggers, their nerves stretched thin.

The silence was unbearable. The air itself felt heavy, thick with tension. The sound of someone breathing too hard, another man swallowing his fear—it all rang loud in the stillness.

Rafael sat on his throne of leather and gold, leaning forward with a wicked grin.

“Well?” he said, his voice oily. “Shoot him!”

No one moved. They were all too scared after witnessing Jaden brutally killed two men with one hit.

"This guy is not human."

Jaden tilted his head slightly, his cold gaze sweeping across the room like a blade. He took one step to the side, then another. He started to circle slowly—like a lion, calm, unhurried, choosing which gazelle to kill first.

One of the men, young and trembling, couldn’t take the pressure. His hands were slick with sweat. “Shoot him already!” he barked,

The silence had barely settled before someone in the back muttered, “So what if it’s fake?”Another voice chimed in, louder, “Yeah… I mean, it looks expensive. He still spent fifty million on it.”“Must’ve been scammed,” someone else added with a sympathetic shrug. “Poor guy.”“It’s not even his fault,” a lady in a red dress said. “Even a fake that realistic would cost a fortune. That’s effort.”"It's still better than bringing a trash wrapped in a rag"A small wave of agreement passed through the crowd. Heads began nodding. Whispers shifted again — this time leaning back toward Stanwell.Sensing it, Stanwell straightened, brushing invisible dust from his sleeve and flashing his smile once more.“I may have been misled, but at least I brought something worthy,” he said, loudly. “Unlike some people who show up with rags from a thrift store.”The guests laughed again, rallying behind him like sheep behind a shepherd.Stanwell turned toward Jaden, his smugness fully restored. “Well then

The hall had turned electric again. Laughter buzzed like static, and a hundred stares locked onto Jaden as if he were the villain in some grand drama.Stanwell’s smile had twisted into something darker now — less polished, more primal. He took a step closer to Jaden, towering.“How dare you call my present worth fifty million fake?” Stanwell asked again, voice sharp and cold.Jaden didn’t even blink. “Because it is.”A collective gasp ran through the guests like a wave. Wine glasses paused mid-air. Someone whispered, “Did he just say fake?”"This guy got some guts, not only did he brought a worthless gift wrapped in a rag, he's calling a gift worth fifty million fake?""where did Hannah even met him?"Stanwell's eyes flared. “Watch your mouth.”Jaden tilted his head slightly, still calm. “I’m watching it just fine. You’re the one selling illusions.”“You better have proof,” Stanwell growled. “Or I swear—”“Enough!” Hannah’s voice cut in, firm but anxious. She stepped between them, her

An hour passed. The music returned, laughter resumed, and the storm between Jaden and Stanwell has been settled at least on the surface. Guests gathered near the center of the hall, where a long table had been cleared. A single velvet chair sat at the end, reserved for Hannah. It was time for the gifts. One by one, the suitors came forward—clean suits, polished shoes, and eager smiles. Every man with status had brought something. Watches. Gemstones. Customized perfumes. Cars. Some gave stocks. Others offered estate papers.Hannah smiled graciously at each one, thanking them, even if her eyes flickered with boredom now and then. They all wanted her. Every single one of them. And why wouldn’t they? She was Hannah Winston—beautiful, elegant, born into power, and the face of Winston Corp’s future.“Next up,” someone called, grinning wide, “Mr. Stanwell Wood.”A round of cheers broke out. Champagne glasses clinked. All eyes turned toward Stanwell as he stepped forward with a confident stri

The tension in the hall was thick enough to choke on. Glasses clinked quietly, music had died down, and people were no longer pretending to enjoy the party. They were watching. Waiting.Jaden and Stanwell stood across from each other like two lit fuses.Stanwell’s eyes didn’t blink. His hands were already flexing, shoulders squared, like he was seconds from swinging. “You’re dead, you hear me?” he growled, stepping forward.“Gentlemen,” a calm voice cut in from the side, breaking the stare-down.It was Donald Winston, walking slowly toward them. He wasn’t shouting. He wasn’t panicking. Just calm, measured, and serious.“Come on now,” Donald said, glancing at both men with the kind of smile you wear when you’re trying to stop a brawl without embarrassing anyone. “Let’s not do this here.”Stanwell didn’t say anything at first, just kept his eyes locked on Jaden. But he didn’t throw a punch either. That alone was progress.Donald stopped between them. “I know both of you. I respect both

People cleared a path without being asked.Hannah immediately stepped forward, placing herself between both men.“Stanwell,” she said firmly. “Please don’t cause anything here. I'm not your girl, I never was.”Stanwell’s lips curved into a cold smile. “Relax. I just want to talk. Alone.” His gaze lingered on her. “Please, follow me.”“I’m not going anywhere with you,” Hannah replied, chin raised. “Whatever you want to say, say it here.”Stanwell’s eyes darkened. His smile remained, but it twisted.“Very well then,” he said, turning his attention to Jaden and Julie. “You two—get the hell out of here. I want to speak to my woman. Alone.”“Not happening,” Hannah shot back instantly. “Jaden and Julie s

That one in Mexico—where you broke that guy’s jaw and col
