The junior lieutenant took Chad’s invitation card, scanning the embossed seal under the light. His expression didn’t change. Then he looked up, voice cold and professional.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Brandy. Your invitation has been revoked.”

Chad blinked, thinking he’d misheard. “What did you just say?”

“Your invitation,” the lieutenant repeated, “has been cancelled.”

The color drained from Chad’s face. “That’s impossible.” He quickly pulled out the second gold-foiled card and thrust it forward. “What about this one? Check again!”

The lieutenant inspected it briefly before tossing it back to him. “That one’s invalid too.”

Chad’s voice rose. “That can’t be! There must be some mistake—Professor Manuel personally sent these invitations to me!”

The young officer’s gaze didn’t waver. “There’s no mistake,” he said icily. “Professor Manuel reviewed tonight’s guest list and ordered that the Brandy family be denied entry. He found out your family’s been using his name to make dirty deals. You’re no long

Hence, Jaden drove off with the Freeman family in his car, leaving the rest of his men behind to erase every trace of what had happened at the sawmill. By the time dawn broke, that place would look as though nothing violent had ever occurred there.Back at the Verrick residence, Vane and Nora had been pacing nonstop.Neither of them had been able to sit still. Nora’s phone never left her hand, her fingers clenched so tightly around it that her knuckles had turned white. Every sound outside made her heart leap into her throat. When the car finally pulled into the driveway and the familiar figures stepped out, Nora’s legs nearly gave way in relief.“Thank God,” she breathed, rushing forward. “Thank God you’re all alright!”Vane followed closely behind, his eyes scanning Morganna and her parents anxiously, as though afraid that if he blinked, they might disappear again.Morganna was still shaken, but the fear that had gripped her earlier was gone. She glanced instinctively toward Jaden,

The other man had done nothing more than flick his fingers, almost lazily, yet the force unleashed had been enough to rattle Yoel to his core. His sword had nearly flown out of his grasp.Just thinking about it made a chill crawl up his spine. What kind of monster possessed such terrifying power? In that instant, realization struck him like a hammer. Now he understood. Now he finally knew how Fabian had lost. It had never been luck, nor some underhanded trick. Fabian had simply been outmatched from the very beginning.Jaden Rift was not just strong. He was overwhelmingly so.While Yoel was still reeling, Jaden had already turned away.He continued walking toward Morganna, unhurried and composed, as though Yoel were nothing more than an annoying insect buzzing in his ear. That dismissal hurt more than any physical blow. Being ignored was the ultimate insult.Around them, the battle had taken a decisive turn. The clash that had once been chaotic was now clearly one-sided. The infamous E

They were less than a hundred men, yet the aura they radiated made it feel as though thousands were pressing down on the sawmill yard. The Eighteen Hounds, disciplined and merciless, moved like a single living shadow, their black uniforms swallowing the light of the blazing logs. Behind them, the fifty Rajar elites exuded an air of authority and lethal intent, every step deliberate, every motion measured for maximum impact.Jaden stood alone, arms casually folded behind his back, his expression serene, almost unnervingly so. His gaze swept over the charging mass of black, calculating, unflinching. He glanced at the Elite Eight, his voice calm yet carrying the weight of command. “What do you guys think of the Eighteen Hounds?”Without hesitation, the Elite Eight straightened, chests out, eyes blazing with unyielding pride. In perfect unison, their voices rang out, echoing across the sawmill yard. “Inferior!”A faint smile tugged at Jaden’s lips. It was almost imperceptible, but enough

The underling did not hesitate. He stepped aside, pulled out his phone, and dialed the number that Yoel dictated. The call connected almost instantly. Without another word, the man handed the phone over.Yoel accepted it with a lazy grin, his fingers loosely wrapped around the device as though he were holding a toy rather than a man’s lifeline.“Jaden Rift,” he said slowly, savoring every syllable. “Your sister‑in‑law and her parents are sitting right in front of me.”He turned his head slightly, eyes flicking toward the kneeling figures by the blazing fire.“They’re alive,” Yoel continued pleasantly. “For now. Would you like to see what happens when I lower them into boiling oil?”There was no shouting from the other end of the line.No panic. No pleading.Jaden’s voice came through steady and cold, like steel dragged across ice.“Yoel Lagorio. You’re asking for death.”Yoel burst into laughter.“Death?” he scoffed. “Oh, you’re right. Someone is dying today. Just not me.”He rose fro

Jaden listened without interruption, his expression calm to the point of indifference.“Zachary and Howard were injured only because they chose to stand beside me,” he said evenly. “That debt is on my shoulders.”Kaelus lowered his head slightly, already understanding where this was going.“Send men to the hospital,” Jaden continued. “Make sure they receive the best treatment available. Let them know that I have not forgotten them, and that I will see justice done.”“Yes, sir,” Kaelus answered immediately.Morix nodded as well. “I’ll personally arrange security around them. Carl won’t get a second chance.”Jaden gave a short acknowledgment, his mind already shifting to the next move. Before either man could speak again, Jaden’s phone rang. The sound cut sharply through the quiet room.He glanced at the screen.Nora.For a brief moment, his brows knit together. She rarely called him directly unless something was wrong. He answered without hesitation.“Jaden, something terrible has happ

After the neutral parties departed, the vast hall felt noticeably emptier. What remained, however, was a gathering of people far more eager, far more desperate. Those who had chosen Carl Rajar crowded closer, their earlier restraint vanishing in an instant. Smiles bloomed on their faces, voices overlapped, and flattery poured out unchecked. They behaved like men who had survived a storm by clinging to the strongest mast they could find.“Mr. Rajar’s foresight truly amazes us.”“With you leading the way, Ironvale will finally know order.”“Rift never stood a chance against someone of your stature.”Carl listened without interrupting, his expression unreadable as he accepted the praise like a king receiving tribute.Only after the noise reached its peak did he raise a hand. The hall quieted immediately.“All of you,” Carl said calmly, his voice carrying authority without effort, “have made a wise decision.”He leaned back slightly, his fingers tapping against the armrest.“When I obtain
