Jack didn’t feel like sitting in his room anymore. He called home and chatted with his parents for a long time. After finishing the call, he went downstairs, grabbed a bottle of lemonade from the fridge, and returned upstairs. Holding the lemonade bottle, he walked to the long hallway in front of his room. As he looked outside, he noticed a car driving down the driveway toward the house.

"Dolly Aunty must have arrived," Jack guessed. Turning around, he saw the other three had also stepped out of their rooms—probably after hearing the sound of the car horn.

"Dolly Aunty’s here," Luna announced. "Let’s go downstairs." Without waiting for a reply, she started descending the stairs. The others followed her reluctantly.

They reached the living room just as Dolly Aunty entered from outside.

"Auntyyy!" Luna exclaimed, running toward Dolly Aunty. Tulip followed right behind her. The boys stayed at the base of the stairs.

Dolly Arnold hugged Luna and Tulip with both arms. "How are you two doin

He looked back, but Tania wasn’t there. He quickly scanned his surroundings. He couldn’t find her anywhere. He ran to the other end of the hallway. Still nothing. He called her name, but there was no response."Strange!" Jack muttered absentmindedly. "Where did she go? Disappeared in such a short time?"He started licking his lower lip with his tongue, something he did when he was trying to think. Suddenly, from a distance, a wolf howled in a mournful tone. That sound shattered the stillness of the night. Unconsciously, Jack flinched. Even in this heat, he began to feel cold. A strange terror engulfed him. He couldn’t stand there any longer. He quickly went to his room, closed the door and windows, and lay down.Despite everything feeling odd, he fell asleep soon after. He woke up from a nightmare. He saw himself standing in a large open field. Overhead, thousands of bats were flying. But these weren’t ordinary bats. They were bloodsucking bats. Vampires. In the dark, he fumbled for t

Tania’s lips no longer held that mysterious smile. Her face was kind of tense, and her eyes had a sympathetic look. It seemed like she was feeling bad about Jack’s situation."Why is she doing this?" Jack asked himself, silently. But he couldn’t find an answer. Tania was such an odd girl. You could even say she was mysterious. Jack's thoughts were interrupted by the ringing sound of the telephone.Getting up from her seat, Tania lifted the receiver from the cradle and placed it to her ear. "Hello." There was silence for a moment. She seemed to be listening to someone on the other end. Then she said, "Yes... Yes... She’s here. Please hold on, I’ll give it to Mrs. Arnold." Looking at Dolly Auntie, she said, "Auntie, your call."Mrs. Arnold got up from the table and went to the phone. She took the receiver from Tania’s hand and placed it to her ear."Who... Mr. Gibson!! Yes... Yes... go ahead. No... no, now is not a good time?" There was a brief silence. After listening to the other side

Peter was driving the car. Sitting next to him was Jack. The others were sitting in the back. Everyone was sitting silently. No one was speaking. The sun had set a long time ago. But the red glow of the twilight in the western sky had not completely faded yet. The birds were returning to their nests. Their dark silhouettes were visible against the red sky. The sky looked strangely beautiful. Through the car's windshield, Jack was gazing absentmindedly at it, soaking in the beauty. After a while, the car took a right turn and entered a narrow road shaded by large trees. From there, the sky was no longer visible. Jack lost the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the twilight. He quietly stared ahead. There was a thick darkness there. The Jeep's headlights were cutting through the darkness. But Jack kept staring into the dark. Saying "staring" would have been wrong, though—he was actually sitting, lost in thought. Thoughts were racing through his mind at lightning speed.“Was Cassie looki

A bat appeared in the sky from somewhere. It was so big that it covered the entire moon. And that shadow was falling on Jack. Lost in a strange daze, Jack wandered off. He absentmindedly stared at the sky. The bat’s eyes were glowing like fire. It was hissing and coming closer."Hey, what are you staring at over there?" Max called out, raising his voice.Jack’s trance broke at his call. He froze for a moment. "N-n... nothing. I’ll be right there," he said, then looked up at the sky again. The bat was exactly where it had been. But it was nowhere to be seen now. He quickly scanned the entire sky. Gone. Nowhere to be found. From the other side, Max’s impatient voice was heard. "What, are you still not coming?"Without saying anything else, and without looking in any other direction, Jack shouted toward them. Tania must have been waiting for them, as she opened the door already. She was probably sitting in the living room, waiting for them. As soon as the door was opened, they walked in.

Jack had lost himself in a strange trance. Running away was out of the question, and he had even forgotten to tell Luna. At the last moment, the trance broke. Gently tapping Luna on the head, he whispered, “Hey Luna… Luna.”Luna’s face scrunched up, and with a tone full of annoyance, she asked, “What happened?”Pointing ahead, Jack gestured towards the vampire and said, “Look over there.”Luna looked in that direction and immediately her eyes widened. She tugged at Jack’s hand and said, “Run!”Both of them sprinted towards the door, but after just a couple of steps, they were forced to stop. The vampire was standing right in front of them. Both stood in shock, unsure of what to do. Jack decided that before the vampire could attack, he would strike first. Maybe it would startle it.With that thought, he used all his strength and threw a punch at the vampire’s jaw. Jack thought that if this punch were given to a human, they’d lose consciousness in an instant. But the vampire seemed unaf

"My name is not Tania Dixon," Tania said. "My real name is Nina Cruz."Hearing this from Tania, they were stunned. They looked at each other's faces. Peter furrowed his brow. "Cruz!" He paused for a moment and asked, "Do you know Dr. Roderick?"Tania smiled in response. Everyone stared at her, raising their eyebrows. "Dr. Roderick is my father," Tania said. "I am his daughter.""Ah!" Jack’s jaw dropped. The others were just as stunned. "Then why have you been hiding your identity here?" Max asked."I'm telling you everything," Tania said, raising her hand. She cleared her throat and began, "Dolly Auntie's husband, Mr. Abraham Arnold, was a very good friend of my father. Everyone knows Mr. Arnold died in an accident. But in reality, he was killed by a vampire attack.""What are you saying?" Peter’s voice was filled with disbelief."I'm telling the truth," Tania replied. "Do you want to hear how he died?"Everyone nodded in agreement. They wanted to hear it."My father didn’t believe in

Finally, she glanced at her wristwatch. In the dim light, she saw that it was already twelve. Just as she was about to wake Jack, she noticed him sitting on the hammock. That meant he had woken up on his own."When did you wake up?" Lily asked."Just a little while ago," Jack replied."Well, good thing you did. I was about to wake you.""Alright then, you get some sleep. I’ll keep watch."Lily wished him goodnight and lay down. Jack sat quietly on the hammock. After a while, he noticed the firewood was running low. The flames were almost out. The jaguar was about fifteen feet away from them. A distance it could cover in a single leap. And it wouldn't take more than a few moments for it to make that jump. The jaguar leaped from its position. It was mid-air when something extraordinary happened. The smallest and most frightened among them stepped forward. Without a second thought, it lunged at the beast, which was at least twenty-five times its size. It could have run away and saved itself.Though it couldn't match the jaguar's strength, Don managed to hold it off for a few moments with sheer cunning. • Chapter 100: Don the Defender

The fastest snake in the world is the black mamba. It can cover nearly five meters per second. It is also one of the deadliest venomous snakes on Earth, said to rank just behind the king cobra. Interestingly, the black mamba isn’t black at all; its body is a dark grayish-olive color, though at birth, even that shade isn’t present. As it grows older, its color deepens. The name "black mamba" comes from the inky black color inside its mouth. When threatened, it raises its head high like a king cobra and hisses loudly — just like it was doing now. The black mamba doesn’t stop after one strike; it bites repeatedly, pumping venom into its enemy. Its venom is primarily neurotoxic, attacking the nervous system directly. Just a single drop is enough to cause a heart attack and kill a full-grown human in fifteen minutes. The snake was so close, it wouldn’t take a second to lunge at Luke. Death stood right before him, and he knew it. He could see no hope of escaping alive. The snake raised half
