The meeting room on the top floor of Vanguard Zenith Tower fell silent once again after the three officers from the Directorate General of Taxes closed the folder containing Mr. V's financial reports.

The middle-aged officer leading the team looked at Vero for a moment before offering a faint smile.

"All right... thank you."

He slowly slid the folder across the polished black granite table toward Vero.

"We've reviewed every document—from the audit reports and share ownership records to dividend payments and tax filings. Everything is legitimate."

The other two officers nodded in agreement.

"Most of these reports have even been audited by international accounting firms. We found no illegal transactions whatsoever."

Leon, who had been watching the entire meeting, finally let out a quiet sigh of relief. He had been tense since early that morning. Mr. V's fortune was simply too enormous. If even a single document had failed to match, the investigation could have dragged on for weeks.

"Thank goodness... there isn't a single problem," he murmured.

Vero smiled faintly.

"Then I assume our business here is finished."

"Of course, sir. We sincerely apologize for taking up your valuable time."

The officer respectfully shook Vero's hand.

"Thank you for receiving us."

"We truly apologize if our visit disrupted your schedule."

"It's all right. You're simply doing your job."

After chatting for a few more minutes, the three officers left the building.

Leon escorted them to the lobby.

Meanwhile, Mr. V returned to the floor-to-ceiling window in his office.

Unlike the previous month, there was no mission today.

Vero stroked his chin.

"Strange..."

"The System hasn't given me any tasks today," he muttered.

"Vero," Leon said, "I'd like to inspect the factory today. I think we'll need a lot more workers. You've spent the last month focusing on investments, but this company also needs to grow."

"Take care of it," Vero replied.

"Besides that, we'll need many more employees."

"You handle it, Leon. I have plenty of things to deal with. Go ahead and open new job vacancies. Give priority to people who genuinely need work. I want my staff and employees to be capable people—those who never give up, are deeply dedicated, and, most importantly, can be trusted."

"Understood."

Vero realized that his mission was no longer just about revenge.

He also had to manage his companies and create employment opportunities for countless people.

"Day One of Level Two..."

"So... what exactly am I supposed to do?"

The System offered no answer.

Eventually, Vero decided to return to the mansion.

Perhaps the System was deliberately giving him time to rest.

"At least I can finally enjoy my life again after spending an entire month being buried in money," he grumbled.

The sun was beginning to set as Vero's black Rolls-Royce entered the mansion grounds.

Vero stepped into the Vanguard estate. The property was luxurious, though it had begun to show signs of age. It had existed for nearly half a century, and now it belonged entirely to Vero after he purchased it.

The atmosphere was eerily quiet.

Several elderly servants who had devoted decades of service to the estate were cleaning the first floor. They bowed respectfully to the building's new owner.

Vero simply nodded before climbing the stairs toward his private floor.

However, after taking only a few steps into the corridor, Mr. V frowned.

The door to his office was open.

He could even hear noises coming from his private bedroom.

As far as he remembered, he had already warned the servants never to enter his private quarters.

Every safe had been opened and moved from its original position.

His belongings were scattered everywhere.

Several folders lay across the floor.

The office looked as though an intruder had searched every corner for something.

Every entrance required fingerprint verification and a retinal scan.

The alarms should have gone off long ago.

Vero instantly turned toward the sound.

The moment he located its source, his eyes widened.

A woman stood there wearing a simple black business suit that fit her perfectly.

Her long, wavy black hair flowed gracefully past her waist.

Her crystal-blue eyes reflected an indescribable light.

Her skin was as white as freshly fallen snow.

She paid no attention to Vero whatsoever.

Instead, she opened another cabinet.

Removing everything inside.

She walked into the dressing room.

Opened the door.

Then walked back out again.

It was as though she was searching for someone.

Her movements were slightly stiff, while her eyes remained intensely focused on specific objects.

"What is this?"

"Who is she?"

"Hey."

Vero's voice was firm.

The woman didn't react.

She continued walking toward the hallway.

"Hey!"

This time, Vero raised his voice.

A transparent blue light filled the air.

A hologram appeared directly before him.

The words disappeared.

A new notification replaced them.

Vero blinked.

"Huh?"

Another line appeared.

Vero slowly shifted his gaze toward the long-haired woman.

Then back to the hologram.

He remained speechless for several seconds.

"Don't tell me..."

"Her?"

The hologram gave no reply.

《Unit Currently Executing Candidate Search Protocol.》

The woman turned toward him.

Her eyes scanned Vero as though identifying him.

As if she had only just become aware of his presence...

The System robot immediately bowed respectfully.

"Master!"

Vero could only massage his temples.

"My God..."

"Level Two is far more terrifying," he muttered.

Vero continued staring at the woman in complete disbelief.

She returned his gaze without blinking.

Her beautiful face remained entirely expressionless, as though she didn't even understand the concept of awkwardness.

Several silent seconds passed.

"So..." Vero muttered while rubbing his forehead. "All the cabinets, drawers... even my office being turned upside down... that was your doing?"

The woman remained silent.

Apparently, she required commands rather than questions.

Vero was completely speechless.

The hologram lit up again.

Vero slowly read the notification.

"Assign?"

He examined the woman from head to toe once more.

"Please assign me one."

Vero thought for a moment.

"Luna."

The woman lowered her head.

"Name accepted."

Vero nodded.

"Very well, Luna."

"I have a job for you."

"I am ready to receive your orders, Master."

Vero paused briefly.

Luna suddenly knelt on one knee, lowering her head.

Vero instinctively stepped back in surprise.

"Order acknowledged."

"Beginning today, I shall perform all duties as the Candidate's Chief Financial Treasurer."

"I will safeguard all assets."

"Manage investments."

"Monitor cash flow."

"And protect all of Master's wealth."

Vero laughed helplessly.

Luna remained kneeling.

"Why are you kneeling?"

"Professional etiquette."

"Where did you learn that?"

The robot didn't move.

Vero sighed deeply.

"Stand up."

Luna immediately stood.

"You're far too stiff. Can't you act like a normal person?"

"From now on, behave like an ordinary human."

Luna stared at him for several seconds.

"Request accepted."

She then stood with both hands neatly folded in front of her body.

Although she appeared more relaxed, every movement was still unnaturally rigid.

Vero shook his head with a chuckle.

"Teaching you how to be human is apparently much harder than running a company," he said with a laugh.

Luna blinked once.

"I will study human behavior."

"Good. Please do."

The hologram appeared once more.

Before Vero could read the next notification, the sound of a ringing phone broke the silence.

Without hesitation, he opened the AI assistant on his laptop and asked it to generate a prompt.

He requested instructions on how to configure and train the System robot to behave like a human—to interact naturally, move gracefully, greet people, carry on conversations, go on dates, and develop emotions.

Within seconds, the AI assistant generated the prompt.

Vero instructed Luna to listen carefully to every instruction.

Ten minutes later, the System robot had transformed into someone who looked and behaved far more naturally.

"When shall we begin meeting your business partners, V?" she asked.

Her gentle voice now sounded calm and remarkably lifelike.

Vero let out a relieved breath.

"Come with me tomorrow."

"Very well... V."

The woman smiled faintly.

Her eyes now appeared far more alive.

Vero laughed openly, and Luna smiled along with him like a real human, sharing in his happiness.
