Knock! Knock!

A sudden knock at the bedroom door interrupted Aren and Liora's conversation. Both of them turned toward the entrance, exchanging puzzled glances as they wondered who might be visiting so late at night.

“What should I do?” Aren whispered, unsure whether he should open the door himself.

“Why are you asking me? Just tell them to come in,” Liora replied, giving him an impatient look. “Whoever it is, they're probably still standing outside.”

Aren cleared his throat and walked toward t

“Sir, this is the room prepared for you and Miss Liora. We apologize, but we can only provide one room because this building is quite small, and all the other rooms are occupied by royal soldiers,” the guard explained.Although he maintained a formal tone, Aren noticed the slight nervousness in the man's eyes. The guard seemed worried that their guest might be displeased with the arrangement, but Aren had no intention of making things difficult for him. He simply patted the man's shoulder and smiled.“That's perfectly fine. If you need any assistance, just let me know.”The guard looked momentarily confused by Aren's friendly response before nodding. “Of course, sir. If you need anything, you can call for one of the guards. Just shout from your room, and someone will come to assist you.”Aren raised an eyebrow at the suggestion but nodded politely. “Alright. Thank you very much.”“My pleasure, sir!” the guard replied enthusiastically before leaving.Aren entered the room with Liora an

Aren stepped into the headquarters, which served as both the command center and shelter for the soldiers, guards, and even Prince Frederick of Esteria. As he entered alongside Gareth, Zeke, and Liora, several soldiers turned to look at him. However, their attention quickly shifted to the tiny fairy flying beside his shoulder.Fairies were among the rarest creatures most humans ever encountered. Because of their small size and magical abilities, they were usually assigned to watch over human children, including the children of important ministers and noble families. Most adults only knew about them through childhood stories, and many who had once seen a fairy could barely remember the experience.Seeing one accompanying a grown man was therefore unusual, especially since Liora's actual responsibility was to guide and protect Aren, a human who had arrived from another world.“Look, it's a fairy,” one soldier whispered.“Really? I've never seen one before,” another replied, leaning forwa

The fire flowing through a Firebelcher’s blood continued to grow more intense as the monster aged, making its blood highly toxic to anyone who came into contact with it. A bite or scratch was especially dangerous because the poison could enter the victim’s body and spread quickly. The only reliable way to kill a Firebelcher was to cut it down with a silver sword, but even that was not enough to make the battle easy. These monsters had a frightening ability to multiply during the daytime, making every encounter more dangerous than it first appeared.“Then why don’t they attack during the day?” Aren asked after hearing Liora explain how weak Firebelchers appeared when the sun was up. “If their strength is so limited during daylight, shouldn’t that be the best time to hunt them?”Liora let out a sigh, and Aren turned towards her with a puzzled expression. “What? Did I say something wrong?”“They multiply during the day,

Aren and Liora finally emerged from the cave, where they found Zeke crouching near the entrance with his arms wrapped around his knees. His shoulders were trembling as he listened to the repeated explosions and loud rumbling coming from inside. The ground had shaken several times during the battle, and each explosion had made him more certain that something terrible had happened to Aren.“Zeke, let's go back,” Aren called as he approached him. However, Zeke was so frightened that he barely heard the voice. He remained crouched in the same position, with his head lowered and his entire body trembling. Aren exchanged an amused glance with Liora before walking closer and gently tapping the guard's shoulder.“Zeke,” he called again.Zeke suddenly jolted and raised his head. When he saw Aren standing in front of him, his eyes immediately filled with tears of relief. He quickly got to his feet an

Aren immediately turned and ran toward the cave entrance, but before he could cover much distance, the Inferno Falcon moved with incredible speed and appeared directly in front of him, blocking his escape. Its enormous wings spread across the cave, and the heat radiating from its body made the air even more unbearable.“How dare you trespass into my territory and steal from me!” the bird roared. Its voice was so powerful that the entire cave trembled, sending small rocks tumbling from the ceiling. Aren stared at the furious creature, whose glowing red eyes were fixed on him and Liora. The little fairy was so frightened that she quickly hid behind Aren's thick black hair, unwilling to expose herself to the terrifying S-rank monster.“Oops,” Aren muttered as he reached for Ashbringer and drew the sword from its sheath, pointing its blade toward the enormous bird.“Do you dare challenge me, little thief?” th

Aren, Zeke, and Liora moved carefully through the dark cave, making sure their footsteps did not disturb anything around them. The deeper they went, the hotter the air became, until even Aren began to struggle with the temperature. The cave was surprisingly filled with green plants, but the heat inside it was almost unbearable.“Oh my! There are so many green plants in here, yet the air is hotter than the middle of a volcano,” Liora murmured, fanning her face with one hand as she tried to make herself comfortable.Aren continued forward until they reached the centre of the cave, where they finally spotted the creature they had come to find. A gigantic bird with a massive beak was sleeping peacefully on the ground, its enormous body rising and falling with each deep breath. Directly in front of it stood a small tree, barely fifty centimetres tall, with several beautiful dark-blue fruits growing from its branches.Liora stared at the fruits with curiosity because she had never seen Cind
