The morning sun broke through the sea clouds over Pier 14, casting a cold light across Northwind Logistics. The previous night's storm had cleared, leaving behind the fresh scent of saltwater and damp concrete.

Inside the harbor office, the quiet atmosphere of the past three years vanished completely. The front desk phones rang endlessly. Local drivers and port contractors called to verify the morning news, as regional manager Haryo Prasetyo had just been arrested for corporate bribery.

Upstairs in the director’s office, Adrian stood near the window with his hand resting in his pocket. He gently brushed his thumb against his father’s old watch. Outside, four heavy Northwind trucks rolled smoothly out of the main gate with steady engines.

Behind him, Director Thomas hung up the landline with trembling hands. "The port authority officially released the hold on our remaining trucks," Thomas reported, holding a stack of delivery manifests. "Ironclad's local accounts are frozen, and their regional office is in absolute chaos."

Adrian turned around slowly with calm eyes. "A rat does not bite when the light is turned on, Thomas," he said quietly. "Haryo thought he could use the law as a knife against us, but a knife has no loyalty to its holder."

Winston adjusted his silk tie near the bookshelf. "Haryo’s arrest creates a massive blind spot for The Forge," he analyzed. "His superiors cannot step in without exposing their own illegal fund transfers, leaving us legally safe."

"Safe, but still poor," Adrian remarked, walking over to the desk where the thick Black Book lay closed. "Saving eight trucks is only a defensive victory. A shield keeps you alive, but it cannot win a war."

Thomas stepped closer to the desk with a serious expression. "Several local merchants asked if we can take over their weekly routes," he said. "However, our cash is dangerously low, barely covering fuel and wages for two weeks."

Adrian gently touched the iron ring on his index finger. The protocol required strategic leverage to rebuild dormant companies through self-sustaining trade.

"Do not accept every merchant who calls," Adrian instructed. "Select only the honest businesses squeezed out by Ironclad. Offer them lower rates, but demand immediate cash settlements upon delivery."

Thomas smiled with deep relief. "That gives us immediate daily cash flow without relying on bank loans!"

"And what about the Sterling Group?" Winston asked with a sharp smile. "Their construction site expects twenty tons of cement, and Raymond Sterling has no other transport provider in this district."

Adrian looked out the window at the distant skyline, where the tall steel frame of Raymond’s plaza stood unfinished. "Let Raymond search for trucks," he said coldly. "He wanted to starve Northwind, so now let us see how long his project survives."

Three miles away in the executive suite of the Sterling Group, the atmosphere was chaotic. Raymond Sterling stood behind his wide desk, throwing papers across the floor in a rage.

"What do you mean Ironclad's fleet is impounded?" Raymond screamed at his pale manager. "Every hour we delay costs us fifty thousand dollars in penalties!"

"Pak Haryo was arrested at midnight," the manager stammered defensively. "The Maritime Prosecutor’s Office seized the yard and put the company under lockdown."

Raymond slammed his fist onto the desk. "Call another transport company in the city!"

"I called three firms, sir," the manager whispered. "They refused because no one wants to cross Northwind Logistics right now."

Raymond froze in disbelief. "Are you telling me those small companies are afraid of Thomas?"

Before the manager could answer, Elena Sterling walked into the room wearing a dark grey suit. Her face was pale, carrying a heavy exhaustion.

"Raymond, stop screaming at the staff," Elena said softly. "Father’s blood pressure spiked again this morning because of the plaza news."

"Shut up, Elena!" Raymond snarled. "You don't know anything about business, and those delivery drivers are just flexing their small muscles!"

Elena looked at Raymond with cold pity. "It isn't bad luck, Raymond, it is incompetence," she said quietly. "You spent six months withholding Northwind's payment, and now our fifty-million-dollar project is grinding to a halt."

"Get out of my office!" Raymond shouted, his voice cracking. "I will handle it myself!"

Elena did not get angry. She simply turned her head toward her reflection in the glass window.

He still thinks Adrian is just a lucky loser, Elena thought to herself, feeling a bitter coldness in her chest. Adrian didn't fight back with loud threats—he simply stepped aside and let Raymond run into a wall.

Elena turned around and walked out of the office, leaving Raymond alone in his crumbling room.

The lingering storm clouds had passed, revealing a clean, blue sky.Inside the large conference room on the ground floor of Northwind Logistics, twenty men sat around a long wooden table. They were the senior truck drivers, warehouse supervisors, and maintenance chiefs of Sector 109—men whose hands were calloused from decades of hard work.At the head of the table sat Adrian Veyron. He wore a clean dark suit, and on his right index finger, the dark iron Sovereign Ring gleamed softly under the lights. Dark circles showed under her eyes where heavy makeup used to be."Elena," Chloe muttered, her voice whining softly. "The fabric supplier just called again.
