The next morning arrived. Caroline was a bit hesitant about going to the company as she thought that her brother might be there waiting for her, lest he humiliate her and mock her just like he always did. But August was there to give her an assurance saying with him, no one would be able to lay hands on her.

His sudden change was something she was new to, but then this was the kind of man she liked. Someone who would stand by her decision and never let anyone bully her. Having this in mind, she proceeded to get dressed into a fine suit. Her professional aura was surged, and so was her work mood.

Already, August was outside waiting for her, so as she came out, he smiled. “You look beautiful.” He complimented while her face flushed red. The situation became awkward to her, and she didn’t know if she was to go forward or backward.

“I’ll get the car ready. Let’s go.” August chuckled as he pulled out the key walking off to the exit.
