“Oh my, what a wonderful young man! They truly look perfect together!”

From a distance, Catherine could barely contain her excitement as she watched Ethan escort Quinn into Victoria Boutique, one of the most prestigious jewelry stores in the city—if not the best.

Just minutes earlier, she had nearly lost her breath when Ethan brought her daughter to Havenport Place, the largest shopping plaza in town. Her shock quickly turned into admiration when she realized their first stop was the top-floor boutique—one reserved for the city’s elite.

Back when the Jonathan family still lived in the Hayes main mansion, Catherine would visit that boutique at least once a month.

Now? She hadn’t stepped foot in there since the day they were cast out.

Her excuse about “going to the market” was just a cover-up. In truth, she was tailing her daughter’s date, eager to witness everything with her own eyes.

“See? Ethan really knows how to treat a woman. Taking my daughter to such a luxurious boutique on their very first date—now that’s what a real man does!”

She made sure to raise her voice, throwing the words at Martin, who stood beside her with his usual calm expression.

“Hey! Don’t you have any shame? Any man with blood in his veins would lose his mind seeing his wife with another man—yet you just stand there like a fool! Where’s your pride?”

Catherine’s irritation grew when Martin didn’t even flinch. He simply stood still, quiet, composed.

But her annoyance didn’t last long—her curiosity took over as she squinted toward the boutique’s interior.

“What? Is he really taking her to that section?”

Victoria Boutique had three product lines, and the most exclusive one was tucked away at the very back. That was exactly where Ethan led Quinn.

When a female sales associate pulled out a shimmering necklace from the glass display, Catherine’s eyes went wide.

“Oh my! He’s really buying that for my daughter? What if… what if he actually proposes to her someday?”

Her mind started racing—visions of luxury flashing before her eyes.

“If he becomes my son-in-law… he’ll surely buy me a mansion… and a car… oh, what a blessed life I’ll have!”

While Catherine was lost in her fantasies, Martin quietly let out a sigh.

“Mother, please… wake up. How long will you keep forcing your daughter to do something she doesn’t want?”

His tone was gentle but firm.

This wasn’t the first time his mother-in-law had tried to set Quinn up with another man. But Quinn had always ignored them—until Ethan appeared.

At first, Martin had worried that Quinn might actually have feelings for him.

But watching her awkward body language, her polite but distant tone… his heart began to ease.

If Quinn truly wanted a divorce, it couldn’t be because of Ethan.

“There must be another reason,” he murmured. “I need to find out what it is.”

But just as those words left his lips, the sight inside the boutique made his blood boil.

Ethan shoved a necklace encrusted with colorful gems toward Quinn. Though she tried to refuse, he kept pressing her to accept it.

“That bastard… looks like he needs a lesson.”

Martin’s eyes darkened as he took a step forward. But before he could move any closer, Catherine rushed ahead of him.

“Oh no! What is she thinking, rejecting such a precious gift? I can’t let her make such a stupid mistake!”

She hurried off toward the store before Martin could even take another step.

“Isn’t our estimate already very reasonable?”Riley’s expression was slightly tense as she adjusted the collar of her blazer while standing on the escalator heading toward the third floor. This was her first time investing in a company outside the capital. She didn’t want to be overly anxious—but she certainly didn’t want to be careless either.“I just want to make sure everything goes smoothly,” she added, not looking at the assistant beside her.“I can say this with confidence—we are, ma’am.”The assistant nodded slightly.Though she appeared somewhat tense, her face was filled with confidence.“Two hundred million, as we discussed earlier, is the most appropriate range given the current condition of this company.”Palm Coast Enterprise might have a valuation of two billion dollars, which made two hundred million reasonable for ten percent of its shares. However, the stock price had dropped sharply over the past few months. If that decline wasn’t handled carefully, the value of ten

“Hey, man, what makes you think you can come to a place like this?”Martin had just stepped out of the taxi when a doorman blocked his path, his expression hostile.Dressed only in a plain white T-shirt and worn navy jeans, Martin looked far more like a drifter compared to the doorman, who wore a uniform far too luxurious for someone in his position.“I’m not sure that’s something I need to explain to you,” Martin replied calmly. “My business is with the people inside.”Before him stood a circular building painted in light blue, adorned with ocean-themed ornaments. Known as the Sea House, it was where Palm Coast Enterprise held its most important executive meetings.Martin had obtained this information from Gianna. Since he wanted something significant from them, coming directly here was the most effective option. However, due to its elite nature, no one was allowed inside unless they had legitimate business.Martin continued walking forward.“Listen, I don’t like jokes—especially fro

Thirty minutes later, at Havenport South Station.“Please, sir.”Alfred opened the rear door of the black Bentayga for Martin.“No. I’ll take a taxi.”Instead, Martin headed in the opposite direction.“But, sir—”Alfred looked stunned. After all, Martin was about to meet the executives of Palm Coast Enterprise for an important business discussion.Arriving by taxi would only make them doubt him.If you arrived in a proper vehicle, at the very least, they would be willing to listen.Whatever you said afterward wouldn’t matter as much. But if you arrived in a way that failed to inspire confidence, they might not even bother listening to the first word that left your mouth—no matter how important it was.It was a small detail, but one with enormous impact.“Relax.”Martin smiled and waved his hand lightly. He understood the concierge’s concern.“I’ll get what I want.”***Meanwhile, at a hotel inside Palm Coast Resort.“You useless brat! How could you just drive them away like that?!”Wi

“Sir, from all the potential candidates we’ve reviewed, I can say with considerable confidence that this is the most suitable one.”Alfred pointed at a name on the list.Palm Coast Enterprise.A company overseeing several luxury resorts and upscale residences in Havenport.“With a valuation reaching two billion,” he continued, “this will be an excellent company for you.”Generally, businesses started small or medium-sized.But that didn’t apply to Martin—he already had vast experience and an extremely strong financial base.He needed a company large enough to accelerate growth, yet not so large that decision-making became inflexible due to board approvals.Alfred was certain the name he had chosen fit Martin’s ambitions perfectly.“Yes, this looks good.”Martin seemed satisfied as his eyes scanned through the company’s profile line by line.“In that case, can you arrange a meeting with them?” he asked.Hearing that, Alfred nodded confidently, sharing the same sense of satisfaction.“O

“If they’ve already figured out who I am, then they should also know about the Hayes family, shouldn’t they?”Inside the private express staff room, Martin murmured under his breath as he looked out the window. His thoughts drifted to Hunt3rs.That group of assassins might only be targeting him.But they could easily use Quinn—or anyone from the Hayes family—as bait to lure him in.“So the divorce really can’t happen?” he muttered again, deep in thought.Originally, Martin didn’t intend to ask anything of Quinn. If she wanted to side with her family and go through with the divorce, he wouldn’t force her to stay. But now everything was different.Everything seemed to hinge on his decision. If he allowed the divorce to happen, Quinn’s life might be in danger.“They’d definitely use Quinn to get close to me.”Wife or ex-wife didn’t matter. They would try every method available to kill him.But what weighed on him far more was Quinn’s safety.Knock-knock!The door opened, and Alfred stepp

“Aren’t they supposed to head to the platform already?”Martin directed his gaze toward a group of workers standing silently on the floor. Their faces couldn’t hide their uncertainty. In truth, they really were supposed to board the morning train—yet they were forced to wait for the afternoon one instead. They had booked their tickets well in advance. But because they had purchased the cheaper fare, there was nothing they could do when the clerk and the security guard blocked them.“What exactly are they waiting for?”“Sir…”Jackson quickly turned around, confusion spread across his face.He didn’t understand why the young man was asking something like that.“As for the passengers in this station, you don't need to worry.”He answered with a wide, confident smile. He believed Martin was someone who cared about others, and he was proud to say the station provided excellent service—just as Martin probably expected.“They will all receive the best service from our staff.”He nodded firml
